It didn't take long for the school unit to disperse, and Morgan knew that Millicent would be back over there for the picnic they had planned. Morgan had spent some of their rest areas getting things together in order to make them a decent picnic dinner, and they had just been waiting on Millicent's school group to be done before they got started. She comes over pretty quick, babbling about how awesome her day was. Morgan was glad that she was enjoying 'school' quite a bit, mostly because they felt guilty for not hanging around as often since they had to be around Endymion for the first few crucial months of their bonding. Morgan was doing all kinds of research on how draconic bonding worked, because they were not entirely sure what to expect.
It was a lot less scary now, than it had been.
Morgan listened at Millicent and Endymion babbled together.

The human began getting the pack dinner together as they listened. They spread out a little cloth over the grass, and began putting the travel dishes down. Then, they opened the plastic baggies they had all the food in and opened them up into the dishes. There was a goodly amount of food of all kinds, especially fruits and vegetables for Millicent since she didn't really eat meat. After they were done setting up, the three talked amicably and watched the comet as they ate, enjoying each other's company. The human realized that Endymion was doing the most curious thing that he didn't even seem to notice that he was doing- he was treating Millicent as if she were his daughter as well. He was so young that it was actually a laughable thing, but they figured it had something to do with the bond. Either way, Millicent did not at all seem bothered by it.

It was nice, having some of the family together like this. Maybe in the future they'd be able to get Vixie in on some of this too (Morgan did not forget about her, regardless. She was still important to them) and some of the tat-family (The ones that wanted to be in on such a thing). It got them wondering about when Seimei and Ryuusei's eggs would hatch. Recently, Pao and Ondori grew up as well. It was amazing how fast their little ones were growing. It was kind of a scary thing to think of it. They weren't very old, theirself. They'd really made theirself a life after their father's death, and it was bittersweet watching this Comet without him with their new family. They tried not to bum theirself out too much though, and they turned their attentions to their bonded and their daughter, grinning at a joke that Endymion tried and failed to make.

They were going to have to teach both of these young ones a lot more information than they already knew. It was sort of their place, but how were they supposed to balance working and teaching their family, AND training their pets? It was practically impossible. However, they would do their best. It was what they owed those that they loved to try to do so.
The comet overhead was a beautiful sight. It was a bright and cold flame-like streak across the dark and sparkling sky. Morgan thought about how it looked like an impressionist's painting, in a way. More like looking at a mirror image of a thing than at the real thing itself. They kept this thought private from the other two the best they could, though. It was a weird thought. It felt like dissociating.
The grass was nearly soft enough to sleep on it, but Morgan forced theirself to sit back up and eat.

After the dinner, the trio were getting pretty tired. The Astonomer's Association seemed to be doing well, and Morgan packed up. The three obviously didn't want to leave quite yet, but also obviously knew that they were tired. They had stayed out until three in the morning, and it was time to hit the hay. Morgan walked down the hillock with Millicent on their shoulder, and little Endymion following after them. They stopped outside of the dark tent outside and asked if anyone needed them for anything. So far, nothing bad had happened. Of course, there were a few people with sarane out there, making sure that no one tried to interfere for any reason, so it made sense. After being told that they were good to go home, they went ahead and took the sleepy kids back home. Morgan would take Endymion back to the Canyon tomorrow, they decided. It was too late to do it tonight.
