Stars, huh? Or.. comets. Whatever the difference was. Fiera listened with vague interest as the person on the stand extolled the upcoming scientific value of the comet that would pass by soon. Why was it always about SCIENCE? Couldn’t things just be pretty? Fiera wasn’t dumb by any means (and she would make this QUITE clear to anyone who even vaguely insinuated otherwise), but she was getting a little sick and tired of all this scientific stuff. At least the book keepers from last month just wanted that rare tome because it was pretty. Though on another level she supposed she couldn’t really expect much different from a place called the LABS City. Still, she wasn’t sure what SHE would have to do to it. Couldn’t they just set up their telescopes and leave? Fiera crept closer to the presentation, if just to get a closer look at this farce. Fiera 1 Gabrielle 0.1/7.1 1

Hm. Apparently the reason they were even giving this speech was because they needed help with the upcoming comet that would pass over the city. Apparently swarms of scientists would be coming in from across the city, and the ideal hilltop to study the sky from had limited space, along with the limited time they had to collect data. This meant that while they COULD do this whole night of studying on their own, they were looking to recruit people to help with various tasks, from guarding the borders of the hill to helping set up telescopes to assisting with data recording. Fiera wasn’t too interested in any of that... but when they mentioned that they’d make it worth folks’ while, she perked up a bit. Even if she wasn’t personally invested in all this, she supposed that it would be interesting to see what sort of payment an astronomy society could shell out.

“What do you think, Gabrielle?” The humanish said, glancing down at her pet. The custom lamadidron was leashed to Fiera with a beautiful gemstone studded leash that would most definitely snap like a hair if the lamadidron decided to actually try and pull away from Fiera. Lucky for her though, Gabrielle was a wonderfully docile lamadidron with a sweet, naive personality. There was very little that could upset her, which was amazing in comparison to most members of her species, which were... well, grumpy to say the least. Gabrielle was a breath of fresh air in comparison, and the humanish was happy to take her out on the town to have some fun. Who knew, maybe they would have some fun together going to this comet sighting. Not to mention the lamadidron was garnering some much appreciated attention for Fiera. Custom lamadidron were rare and not available for the public as of then.

As a result, Gabrielle tended to get a lot of attention when the pair of them was out and about, which Fiera adored basking in. Her pet was more shy about it, but she seemed to be getting used to it over time. They were still out and a out when Fiera realized that they weren’t getting as much attention as they had been up until that point, which caused her to look around for the reason why everyone had wandered off, only to find some nerd giving a speech... which led her back to the current moment, filling out a “volunteer form” with Gabrielle by her side. She wasn’t sure what she wanted to DO yet exactly, but she was sure she could figure that out later. Maybe they’d need a motivational speaker or something- she was great at that! Heck, she could do that even WITHOUT making comparisons to herself!

As they walked away, Fiera considered the possibilities of what they’d end up doing. Gabrielle was pretty enough to be a poster child for the whole event practically, and Fiera had the feeling they’d fit right in regardless of what they actually ended up doing. When Fiera got home she started packing her bag full of just about every item she could think of- thick clothes for the cool night air, pens, pencils and paper in case they asked her to take notes, a tiny telescope of her own that she had found in the Eccentric’s Mansion once. A can opener. She wasn’t really sure if she’d even end up needing all of this, but it was better safe than sorry. Besides, Gabrielle seemed to appreciate the break, snoozing next to Fiera’s bed quietly. Once the humanish had all of her equipment together, she clicked her tongue to wake the lamadidron up. It was time to go.
