Kadin walked a few more steps away, waiting until their attention was elsewhere before he called the pups back to him again. "Come, Miles! Come, Dodge!" He encouraged, watching them... completely ignore him this time. With a sigh, Kadin got a little bit closer and shook the bag of treats. "Miles!" Miles looked up. "Come!" He made sure Miles could see the treats. Miles came to him this time. Surprise, surprises. Dodge looked over, too, since it noticed that Miles was running towards Kadin. "Come, Dodge!" He called, already giving Miles a treat for coming over first. Dodge dashed over to join them, pleased to accept his own treat for a job well done.
Kadin walked a bit away again and called them over again. Since their attention was on him anyway, they readily came when called this time, too. "Good pups." And got more treats because of it. Kadin repeated this process, making his way around the room slowly but surely. He probably called the puppies to him around five to ten times from just a few feet away. They were practically just following him by the end of it. He really needed to test to see if they actually knew the command.

And that they weren't just following him just to follow him. So he stopped after a little bit and gave them a chance to get back to wandering and roaming. Kadin looked over the tables, idly seeing if he could find anything else there. He'd already found a bunch of random junk in this weird mansion, he wouldn't be surprised if more stuff just jumped out at him eventually. Once the pups' attention was elsewhere and they were a better distance away, it was time for him to call them.
"Miles! Dodge!" Two heads perked up from where they'd been sniffing at what might be a... mouse hole? In the corner? "Come! Come Miles, Come Dodge!" He called out, making sure they could see the bag of treats. With yips of delight, the puppies raced over to him to claim their rewards. He gave them plenty of pats and praise, too, in addition to the treats. Then he waiting for their attention to be elsewhere again.
Eventually, he made his way half way across the room. Watching them investigate, he called them again. "Miles! Dodge! Come!" They looked over at him and ran quickly to go get some treats. Really! Such a good deal to be a puppy.

Kadin waited for them to get distracted again. Really, this was the most boring part of the whole process. Once their attention was on... a chair leg. Really? He walked half way across the room again and called them again. "Miles, Dodge! Come!" And come they came to the siren song of treats, pats, and praise. Time to repeat the cycle again. Wait for the pups to get distracted, walk away, call them back to him. "Miles, Dodge! Come!" They were really getting the better deal out of this game, Kadin figured. They kept getting treats for it. And again. Distraction, walk away, call them. "Miles, Dodge! Come!" And more treats for a job well done.
Kadin kept it up, having them practice coming to him from various distances and parts of the room. Even from all the way across the room, at once point. They seemed extremely eager to please, therefore easy to boss around. All they needed was more treats to be happy. He practiced until even he was getting bored of it. Even though they weren't, as much as they loved those treats.
"Maybe we should move on to another room, huh guys?" He said, as if he were just talking to dogs.

Best be careful that naughty crow doesn't snap up that eye!

As Kadin walked down the long tables, once again something caught his eye. Not even the puppies could distract him from the slight and sound of a crow clacking its beak against a corn cob. Kadin paused and watched the crow for a moment, suddenly surprised when he saw that it was going for a gleaming gem on the table. Quickly, he moved forward to grab the thing that looked like a marble eye. He studied it in his hand, figuring he should add it to the rest, before stopping to look at the crow instead. The creature was clacking its beak at HIM now, clearly displeased that it hadn't been allowed to take the shiny. Kadin offered it to the crow, not allowing it to eat the marble, but tempting the crow onto his arm anyway. He smiled slightly at that, adding the marble to the rest of his stuff and then turning to head back out of the room again. He called to the pups, making sure that they were with him. He opened one of the doors in the room, looking out into a sea of corn stalks. He bit his lip, wondering if this was a good idea after all.

It looked really easy to get lost in there. He didn't want to loose the pups to the corn stalks, either. He leaned down to clip on their leashes, just in case. He didn't want any of them getting lost in there. He didn't want to get lost in there. But he especially didn't want them to get lost in one part while he was lost in another part. Hence, leashes. The pups yipped and whined and tugged at being on leashes again, but Kadin just shook his head and lead them into the maze. This could be a good opportunity to teach them something else, although it would have to be something he'd be ok keeping them on a leash with. As they walked through the corn, he also thought. This was a great place to get lost in. A great place to hide, too, if you were worried about something coming after you. Maybe he could teach them how to hide from danger? Or just play hide and go seek? He'd probably have to take their leashes off, eventually, for that one. But they were pretty good with come, so it shouldn't be too dangerous to try. He'd try that next.

They continued walking along in the maze, looking here and there. The pups seemed to think that each corn stalk needed to be sniffed individually, which Kadin tolerated. Eventually they came to a fork in the path and he stopped, thinking. "Hey, pups!" He said, suddenly, trying to put a lot of enthusiasm into his voice. "Fine me!" With that, he dropped the leashes and jumped behind some of the corn stalks, hiding from his puppies. Who seemed terribly confused.
Miles started whining first. They saw where Kadin went! He ran after him, looking behind the corn stalks. The moment it saw him, Kadin grinned and offered Miles a treat. "Good job Miles!" He did "find" him, after all! That was a good pup.
Dodge, on the other hand, figured this was an opportunity for mischief. He sniffed at the corn stalks and glanced around, seeing Kadin and Miles, but instead of going over to them, he yipped and ran the other way, inviting them to chase. He ran back to the pair, play bowed, and then ran away again. Kadin wasn't holding the leashes! Now was the time to play! Not do tricks, it was time to play! He wanted to play!

With all the yipping and running around, Miles was getting super excited! Kadin didn't do much of anything with Dodge yipping and dancing for them, other than roll his eyes, of course, so Miles figured that it would be just fine to play along! He ran around the corner, hot on Dodge's heels, and tried to chase after him. This was a lot of fun! He loved running and he loved chasing after his friends. Kadin walked around, too, watching the puppies run away. That was it for their concentration, he figured. He could probably call them back to him if he tried, but he would let them run around a bit before then. Once they got themselves a bit tired and started looking for treats, he'd try something else.
Actually...
Kadin went back behind the corn stalks and started calling the pups' names. "Miles! Dodge! Find me! Miles! Dodge!"
They probably knew their names well enough. He was trying to teach them this new thing to 'find' or search out things, people, who knows. They didn't know exactly what they were supposed to be doing right now, but he figured that if he was out of sight they'd probably come looking for him.

The puppies were having a whole lot of fun running around! Dodge was speeding off, as fast as anything, Miles hot on his heels. They ran up and down the path, turning around and running down the other way, weaving in and out of some of the corn stalks, and having a great time!
"Miles! Dodge! Find me!"
They could run forever and ever and not get tired! They were so excited to be out and playing and running and exploring!
"Miles! Dodge! Find me!"
Miles finally tacked Dodge, playfully growing the whole time. They tumbled around a bit before collapsing into a panting heap, tired but pleased with their play. That was... unti...
"Miles! Dodge! Find me!"
Where was Kadin? Their human who they really really liked and gave them treats was nowhere! Dodge whined. Miles tilted his head, confused at how they could have lost him. He wasn't anywhere! Should they go look for him? It was kind of scary being here all by themselves!
"Miles! Dodge! Find me!"
Wait a minute, what was that?! Their names! They could hear him! Scrambling up to their feet, Dodge took off first once again, spooked by being along in the corn for so long.

Miles was hot on his heels, yet again, keeping an ear out for where their human had wandered off to. It was hard to see here! It was easy to get lost! Kadin was the only one with treats! All of this added up to one big picture. They couldn't lose sight of Kadin!
Dodge took a turn down a path, but Miles skid to a stop, hearing something.
"Miles! Dodge! Find me!"
It was coming in the other direction! With a yip of distress, he turned around and ran down the other way. He could head Dodge stopping and whining behind him. Not too long after, there were more paw steps coming after him. Haha! He was the one leading the way this time!
"Miles! Dodge! Find me!"
They were getting closer! Finally, Miles skid around a corner and bound right into Kadin's arms, whining and barking his complaints at having been separated for so long. He didn't like that! Kadin had treats! He wanted to be with him all the time. But Kadin was making one of his happy sounds and gave Miles a treat, saying "Good find." so that was ok. Seconds later, Dodge joined them, too, and also got treats!

Kadin seemed very pleased to see them, what with all the happy words and treats. He also couldn’t get away from them because now they knew where he was and they were worried they were going to lose him again! So they were going to be extra sure to keep him in there sight. Kadin seemed amused by this, but he did have more fun games to play. This time, he tossed a handful of treats into the corn and told them “Miles, Dodge! Find it!”
Oh! They liked this game!
Miles ran one way and Dodge ran another, both of their noses working overtime to try to find as many treats as possible. Miles found one IN an ear of corn and ate it quick! Dodge found some under some stalks that had all piled up together, he was super lucky! They both kept running around, competing to see who could find the most, until all the treats were gone. Or, they couldn’t find any anymore. So they ran back to Kadin to see what he was doing, tails wagging hard.
“Good pups! Good find.” Then Kadin took ANOTHER handful of treats and scattered it everywhere! “Find it!” They were off again.

Miles and Dodge were both REALLY good at finding treats. They sniffed and sniffed all over the place to try and find more and more. Miles got the ones closest to Kadin’s feet and Dodge went further, running here and there to find the ones scattered in the corn. They got close a couple of times and each tried to steal treats from each other, but by the end there were no more treats left to sniff out. They jumped over to Kadin, whining and competing to see who’d get more attention this time. Kadin laughed some more, grabbed some pieces of corn and other random stuff he found on the floor, then threw it out and told them to “Find it!” again.
This was such a fun game! Miles went racing off! He went and found a corn cob, and actual corn cob! And came trotting back with it held high, very proud of himself. “Good find!” Kadin told him, giving him a treat for his troubles and seeming VERY happy with him.
Dodge came back with a stick. No one was sure where he found the stick surrounded by just corn, but boy did he find one. “Good find!” Kadin told him, too, also giving him a treat for his trouble.

They were such good finders. Kadin was pretty pleased with their progress, even if it had gone to semi-serious actually finding stuff to just silliness. But anyway. They'd been in this cornfield for a while now, so he figured it was about time that they try to find their way out of it. He sure didn't want to be here for the rest of his life! Or. Something. "Come on, pups, let's get moving."
Kadin started walking through the field. There didn't seem to be any distinct markers to tell him where he was, how far he'd gone, or whether he was close to the end or not. Really, it was all kinda worrisome? He could actually be lost in here forever if they didn't find the way out. Or, there was that danger, or he could just push through to corn stalks themselves until they found the exit. But whoever created this place would probably have a problem with that.
The pups followed after him, happy to be moving and all walking together. They especially liked all the fun games that Kadin was doing with them! There was so much fun stuff to do here and so many neat things to find.

It was probably nice to be a houluh puppy with no sense of time or inevitable doom. They'd start complaining ready enough once they got thirsty, he was sure. At least they didn't have to worry about being hungry when he was already feeding them so many treats.
Miles ran ahead of them, yipping as he went through the corn. For now, Dodge just stayed by Kadin's side even though he hadn't been told to heel yet. It was just nice walking with a friend! And they could hear Miles ahead so it was ok. Dodge was also kinda tired from all the running around and learning new things they had been doing. If they stopped for too long he was liable to just fall into a puppy coma, known commonly as a nap. Kadin did notice that he was lagging behind more than before, but he was still mostly keeping up so he didn't try to do anything about it.
Not when he was worried about Miles getting fucking lost out there just because they ran ahead. Predictably, they eventually came to the fork in the path. Miles nowhere to be seen or heard. Kadin sighed. This was probably a mistake.
