Okay, so, this was new. Jack eyed the Dragon Oak on the leash and smiled a little, she had almost forgotten she had this one, but that was fine, she remembered now and she remembered her plans for the future with her. She walked toward the Breeding Center, Ochre in tow as she went, and she hoped that they wouldn't be late, she was the one with the root pair after all, they definitely needed it for breeding. She had never bred this species like this before, only through the Labs themselves and even then it hadn't been all that impressive when the babies were born. She smiled a little and hurried to the Breeding Center, opening the door and ushering Ochre inside when they got there. Jack pushed a hand through her unruly, curly hair as she strode up to the counter and started to fill out some paperwork for her Dragon Oak at least. This was going to be interesting, she'd never met this guy she was meeting, maybe it would end well, she hoped at least.

Kadin, as per usual, had no idea what the hell he was doing. He'd been wandering the labs, as he often did in his never ending quest to figure out what the hell he was supposed to be doing around here, when he'd seen an advertisement for someone looking to breed dragon oaks. Well, he'd just recently purchased some dragon oaks from a shop. He'd sort of just stumbled across them and decided he wanted them. Plus, he had the money for it, so why not? He hadn't even known that the damn things COULD be bred, much less how someone went about making dragons that were literally plants TO breed.
So, what the hell. A learning opportunity. He'd contacted the person who'd put up the flier and then they had a time and date. Which was... just about now, actually. He was heading towards the breeding center with his dragon oak in tow, entering the place and looking around, probably looking kinda lost. He'd been here with pachee not too long ago, but that time didn't involve other people. He didn't know what to expect this time.

Standing there at the counter, she didn't bother to turn around when the door opened. It was early enough in the day to be there, it would seem, there were already quite a few people in the waiting room, but none with Dragon Oaks like herself. She reached down and stroked Ochre's head for a moment before she finished up the paperwork and held onto it, finally turning around to see if the person she was supposed to meet was here yet. Ah! That was perfect, she should have turned around when she had heard the door after all.
"Hey there! You Kadin?" Jack asked with a smile, walking over to him with Ochre in tow. The pretty little Dragon Oak chirped and tilted her head like a bird might as she followed, curious about the other one there. Of course she lived with another Dragon Oak her size, and also a Greater, so it didn't surprise her to see another one, but... this looked different than any she had ever seen.

Oh, there was someone at the counter filling out some forms and she had a dragon oak with her, too. Kadin had a feeling that this just might be the- yup. Called it.
"Yeah, that's me." He said, probably awkwardly. He tended to do that. "....Annd this is, uh, Draco." He waved one hand towards his dragon oak, which was fluttering his wings to show off to both the human and the pretty female by her side. Kadin held back a sigh. They weren't even in the room yet. Come on dude, keep it together.
"I don't really know how this works... Do we just go to one of the rooms now?" He asked, hopefully, so they could get out of this front room and away from all the people who seemed like they were watching them. Or maybe that was just him. The shadows in the corner stirred. Yup. Just him.

Jack smiled a little and offered to shake hands for a moment before patting Ochre on the head again and nodding, "Yeah, it's not so busy that we can't find a room already." She turned in the paperwork and motioned for him and his Dragon Oak to follow her when she turned around and grinned a little. This would be an interesting outcome for the breeding, she was sure of it. Ochre was lovely and so was his Dragon Oak, Draco? Well, that was certainly a name, she figured, but her own didn't make much sense when it came down to it.
"This way," she said as she started off down the hallway, several of the rooms were already taken, people got there early some mornings to get their breedings out of the way. Pachee, Houluh, Orbaru, and any of the wilder animals could be bred, and that's what they were doing today anyway. Dragon Oak were certainly a bit more... exotic, it would seem. "Thanks for agreeing to this, by the way!" came her gratitude.

Kadin shook her hand and even tried to offer a smile. He was especially relieved that they could find a room right away. He didn't know what he'd do if he had to just stand out here for however long waiting while the dragon oaks tried to get to know each other before they could literally get a room.
Heh. Put it that way, it'd be quite the funny situation.
Kadin followed after Jack easily enough, shrugging and saying, "No problem," when she thanked him for coming out here. "I don't know what I'm doing half the time here. Figured the best way to figure it all out was by doing."
So here, he was, doing something. Getting out there. Meeting people. Or. Setting up his pets to meet people, too. Draco certainly seemed pleased to be here, with this lovely female. While he had so much variation and color, she had complex, interesting patterns. It was quite the match.

Another short chuckle and she opened up the first available room she had found before motioning for the three of them to enter before her. Ochre had no problem strutting in before the male Dragon Oak, and the woman shook her head and rolled her eyes at her antics. She wasn't sure what was going to happen with them, but already it seemed like they were going to get along rather well, which was a good thing. "Hey makes sense, you only learn by doing," the woman offered with a smile as she entered into the room and found a seat, "But if you need any help with anything, feel free to ask, I'm available for pretty much anything nowadays. There's always something to do around here."
At least that wasn't a lie, there was always something to do, it was just finding the time to do it, she knew, and that was what the issue was. She had plenty to do, she just... stalled, apparently.

Kadin went ahead and entered the room after Ochre and his own dragon oak. The dang beast waddled in right after the female as if he couldn't think of anything better to do with his time. Kadin did not hold back his eye roll this time. He released the dragon oak from the rope he'd had on it to keep it from wandering away and left it to its antics. Immediately, he started spreading his wings and turning them to the light to best show off. Typical.
"Oh, thanks." He hadn't exactly expected an offer of help from a person he'd just met and literally only knew about because he answered some random flyer. For some reason, he had a feeling that a lot of people around here were like that. He didn't know why he knew that. "Yeah, there's a shitton to do. I've been to the mansion and the mines, but I haven't even begun. Kinda makes it easier." He did not clarify what it made easier.

His wings were lovely, Ochre had to admit to that, and chirped a little as she tilted her head the other way than she had the time before when she had done the same thing. She preened at her own leafy wings, much darker than the male's shining ones, and then coyly looked over at him. Jack almost gagged, if she had known that her Dragon Oak was going to be this easy, maybe she would have asked for someone else to watch her for her.
"This is true. Have you started in the gardens or at the river yet? Not to mention all the training for tournaments and shows, it can be a little overwhelming, but nice if you need the distraction," Jack agreed, not mentioning whether she needed the distraction or not. Sometimes the dreams made it hard for her to stay awake, but at least she was getting things done again. She just wished she remembered what was missing.

Draco trilled back, fluttering his wings in the air so she could see the shimmering effect he'd obviously been practicing. He bobbed his head in time with the flutter of his wings, showing off the other bright spots on his head and tail at the same time. All his inky dark coloring, shot through with bouts of color. He knew how to show it off so that she couldn't help but be more impressed!
"Uh. I found some plants in my kennel, but I didn't know there were gardens. Or a river. Tournaments?" Shit. Coyle had said something about that. Something about how there were champions with them... That weird green equillion that kept trying to kill him? The big wiurn that kept to himself and just stared at him sadly sometimes? The sarane were all bat-shit crazy about tournaments, whatever they were, although they had never been in them before. If it was anything like the 'gauntlet' he'd run Coyle through, he wasn't sure he wanted any part in it.

Hmm, that was interesting... Ochre pretended not to notice and started to preen at her wings a little. She wasn't sure what to do about the male, or if he just wanted to do this already that they were tiptoeing around right now or what. She tilted her head, trilling a little at the male and then moved over to him and dipped her head forward just a little...
Jack winced, maybe she had gone too far into what the Labs had to offer, "Sorry, I don't get to be with people too much and I babble sometimes." She apologized as best as she could for now, and shook her head, she really was a little people deprived, only being with her animals at the moment was too hard for her, she was coming to realize. Whatever, she needed the time with people to distract her from whatever was going on, it was the worst when she didn't know what was wrong with her.

Oh, she was playing hard to get! He thought. He continued with his display, pretending not to notice too much when she finally came over and dipped her head. Pleased that she was coming to him, he bowed down low in return. As he straightened up, he carefully reached forward with his neck to nuzzle her, wings fluttering along his back in pleasure at spending time with such lovely company.
"You weren't babbling. I just... There are a lot of pets in my kennel and I've been trying to figure them out. Some of them have these ribbons they want me to wear, but it's weird to have their voices in my head." Even if said voices could explain to him what the fuck he was supposed to be doing. But when he'd first put them on, all of them seemed to try and talk at once and he just knew that would eventually drive him insane. He sure didn't have a lot of people contact, either.

Ochre accepted the nuzzle. For now. Later she might chase him off, after all this happened, and she glanced over at the woman for a moment before Jack tossed the pair of roots toward the two Dragon Oaks, hoping they would share them and Ochre wouldn't just take them both, but if that happened, well... whatever. It would work out somehow.
Listening carefully, she nodded. He must have inherited a Kennel or something, but she wouldn't bring it up to him just yet. "Have you tried using just one Ribbon at a time? I find that helps sometimes, see if there's one that just calm and ask what you need?" Jack offered, frowning a little as she thought about it. She remembered coming to the Labs herself, and how strange it had been to find her way there with everything that needed doing. Now, not to blow her own horn, but she was a rather prominent figure, she had been told at least.

Oh, she seemed to be trying to make up her mind about something. He tilted his head at her, letting out a little trill before something landed nearby. Draco looked curiously at the roots that had been tossed over to them, nudging one with a paw before picking it up. He offered that one to the lady, of course, since she should be the one to have the first, obviously. It was only right to offer the first choice to the female since she was the one making the decisions here!
"Yeah." He said with a shrug. What he didn't say was that most of the ribbons he'd tried had been attached to crazy creatures who threatened him more than they were helpful. And some, notably, enjoyed describing how they'd separate his limbs from his body if he didn't do what they wanted. "There's just a lot of them. The calm ones are the least talkative."
