Please note...- The last date to post your introduction post is 72 hours from this post. Without an introduction post you cannot battle. - Certain moves can't be used in the Pit because of the surroundings and other moves can affect more than one creature at the same time. After all introduction posts have been posted you will be informed whether those two apply to any of your creatures' moves. - That you have 72 hours to post a response to a calculation post and/or roleplay post. The 72 hour deadline is not extended if your foe posts after a calculation post. Not meeting the deadline results in an automatic disqualification. - That characters level once every 20 posts in the Fighting Pit, but pets gain levels and loyalty towards their owners normally.

As the old sayings went, you can try to escape the wind, but it can just blow in a different direction. Ridelys had to watch the 'defenseless little cat' Suddenly whips up a windstorm and blew the baakir across the room into a wall. The wall cracked, and the baakir cracked on impact of wall and of floor. She hadn't gotten up again. Several people were throwing down their tickets of betting, calling out that wind was totally avoidable. But the deed was done, the cat was declared a winner, and the healers ran out to take care of Lisan. Poor lisan, hadn't seen it coming. Windy was her last thought before BAM, wall. BAM floor. BAM ouch... she woke up with a crick in her neck and a noticeable amount of people making sure she was still in one piece. The humans were gabbling, and poking her neck and she did not like it. Until they sent her back out again. In human talk, she would need a chiropractor. -ready

The Laredo was doing... surprisingly well. Aster was pleasantly surprised, which he hadn't expected for an event like this one. But it had won the last fight, and the one before that too; Aster had expected the Mosca to set the tone for their entire run, and yet here they were... somehow.
If they went against yet another creature that Aster had trained, he might have expected their streak of wins to continue, but he saw as he walked in that the opponent had already arrived, and didn't look at all familiar.
Well, things might be interesting this time then. They might also be dangerous, but even so.
Aster dropped off the Laredo in the sands, then went up to take his place in the stands. Crossing his arms, he studied the Baakir. He had never seen one in a fight, but that went for most of the creatures entered in this tournament...

That wasn't a creature she'd seen before. A giant lizard. Low to the ground, and large enough to be comfortably ridden upon. Around her, Ridelys could hear other people talking to each other. 'whats that' 'its a lizard' 'i heard its a lay-raid-oh' 'its a lizard' 'is it mean?' 'has a club on its tail' blah blah blah... "Ladies and gentleman! Welcome to the pit, on this fine Friday evening!" Someone stood up in the crowd, loudly delcaring to anyone who would listen. "Tonight, we have the ersatz with the giraffe, Liiiiiisan!" Gesturing grandly down at Lisan, who regarded the lizard before her with.... caution. It was a lizard. Most lizards are small. This is not a small creature. This is not a small lizard. "And in the other corner, we have speed on short legs, the one, the only... Anchooooooov-ack" The self declared announcer disappeared just as fast when several objects rained down on him. Something drops into the sand beside Lisan, and she startles, into kicking out at the laredo. -kick-

... Boy, they sure were animated over there. Aster could see a drunk yelling about something or the other, but he wasn't paying attention. The kinds of people that showed up to these fights weren't really his business, so long as they didn't cause any problems for him.
The more pressing issue was that of the battle. The Baakir was faster than the Laredo, but then, Aster was finding, most creatures were. By his estimation, the Laredo wasn't much different from where Grunty had been before they'd put in all that work at the gym. He saw the tall beast lash out, legs flailing, and could only trust that the Laredo's training would hold enough for it to dodge the blow.
"Body slam," Aster called out, commanding the Laredo to make a counterattack of its own. The Laredo swerved, turning to ram the full weight of its bulk into the Baakir if it could.

Calculations
Lisan Milkiun uses Kick! Anchovy's Danger Sense activates, she misses her attack!
Anchovy uses Body Slam Anchovy's Dexterity of 3 + 2 rolled by staff = 5 vs. the 6 Dexterity of Lisan Milkiun Anchovy misses his attack!

The laredo must've just missed having hooves in the face by inches, or at least by Ridelys' thought standard. This wasn't an untrained lizard. But it acted more like a bull as it came up but just passed over, or maybe because Lisan hopped over it? She cantered over to the other side of the ring, pawing the ground and snorting. angling her head up to glare at the crowd. They were distracted, still occasionally throwing objects at the person who had tried to be an announcer, but had been hauled out by now. The humans were turning back to look into the pit. Snort. Haughtily, she looked down upon the big father lizard. It would be so easy to walk over and just kick it in that big nooose of his. Yes? Yes. She would do that. walking back over to the laredo and aiming a kick in his stupid snoot. Who has spines on their tail? You do! -kick-

They'd been having a pretty good run of it, so Aster had actually expected the Laredo to land its hit, maybe end things right there and then. Why not? It had happened a couple of times before, hadn't it? Trouble was that he had forgotten about the Laredo's biggest problem, which was its speed. The Laredo had dodged the Baakir's flailing hooves, but it hadn't landed its own attack either.
Nothing for it but to try again, Aster supposed, though he didn't know how things would turn out now that the Baakir had gotten more of its bearings. At least if they lost, the Laredo wouldn't take it too hard. It had lost against the Mosca too, and hadn't seemed any worse for wear after the healers were done with it.
"Body slam," Aster called out again, and watched as the Laredo wheeled, readying itself to charge at the opponent again.

Calculations
Lisan Milkiun uses Kick! Lisan Milkiun's Dexterity of 6 + 5 rolled by staff = 11 vs. the 3 Dexterity of Anchovy Lisan Milkiun will deal the most damage possible! Lisan Milkiun's Strength of 5 + 4 damage of Kick = 9 damage 9 - 7 Resistance of Anchovy = 2 Anchovy's Stamina is now 4
Anchovy uses Body Slam! Anchovy's Dexterity of 3 + 6 rolled by staff = 9 vs. the 6 Dexterity of Lisan Milkiun Anchovy will deal the most damage possible! Anchovy's Strength of 4 + 7 Resistance = 11 damage 11 - Lisan Milkiun's Resistance of 2 = 9 Lisan Milkiun's Stamina is now -2
Though the Baakir got a hit in to the Laredo, there was no denying the thick skin of the lizard. The Baakir goes down and the Pit crew divide into two teams to heal the animals.
Results Anchovy gains 2 levels and Aster gains 5 pit prize points Lisan Milkiun gains 1 level and Ridelys gains 3 pit prize points
