She never seemed to stop visiting the breeding center. First it was orbaru then pachee, then she had started training houlou and planned to be going down there with them. Once before she'd brought a lotine - Ophelia, one of the common, freely available lotine. As Sevyrn sat down at the picnic table in her garden and watched Lailah bask beside her pond, Sevyrn knew that as much as she wanted to see if she could bring home some more little lola, she wasn't going to be bringing Ophelia this time around. It wasn't long after she'd come home with Ophelia that she'd come to find Lailah, a rather unique looking creature who had found herself boxed in to Sevyrn's yard after she'd put some hard work in to expanding her fence line. Since then Sevyrn had done her best to make the lady feel comfortable and safe in her garden, and with time Lailah had come to like the place.

She was even prepared! The first time she'd brought a lotine down, it had simply been because Ophelia had seemed like she was ready to bloom so why not? This time Sevyrn had known that the time would be coming, and she'd heard about some fancy lotine food available down at Nature's Bounty. When she'd gone to restock on her orbaru breeding supplies, she had made a point to pick some of that up for the next lotine opportunity that came around.
Today seemed to be the day - with a smile lighting up her freckled face, Sevyrn wandered back in to her house to pack up everything that she was going to need for the trip. Some checks - check. A sweater, because it seemed to be getting a bit chilly - check. A special rainbow colored fish to feed Lailah - check. The hardest part was going to be getting the lotine in to her cart.

Sevyrn would have to drag the wagon through her yard - it was a good thing that she had a dirt path leading from the garden's gate all the way back to her shed, and the pond was right next to it. With her backpack already slung over her shoulders the woman trudged towards the entrance to her yard and secured the gate open. Her wagon sat waiting right on the other side, exactly where she had left it last. When empty it was easy enough to move - once Lailah was loaded in that was going to change...
After parking the cart close to her pond, Sevyrn went to see the lotine, crouching low to the ground and reaching out to her. "Hey pretty lady," she cooed to the beast. She reached one hand out towards her and Lailah sniffed at her in return. "Wanna go for a trip today? It might be scary, but it will be worth it."

Sevyrn hoped to encourage the lotine in to her cart by slowly walking over to it, but that got her nowhere - the timid creature stretched her nose forward to see where the woman was going, but nothing more. It seemed that Lailah did not want to move today, so Sevyrn was going to have to do more than just walk around. Luckily as much as she didn't want to, she had been prepared to need to goad the lotine over. She whipped out a little trest for the lady and tossed it a few feet away from Lailah, which encouraged the lotine to finally move forward. Sevyrn had a second snack in hand, so she had the lotine's attention.
"Come on," Sevyrn said with a sweet tone, urging the lotine over. Lailah's head tilted to the side, watching her with curiosity before inching closer to the woman and little fish.

"Good girl - just a little bit farther." Sevyrn dangled the fish and the lotine moved closer and closer until she sat at the end of the cart. Alright... just one more step. Sevyrn moved around the side of the cart so that she was able to hold the fish above the open part of the cart - if Lailah got up there, then she would get the treat! The lotine seemed incredibly reluctant to get up there though...
Oh well, it was time to go. Sevyrn was going to have to help load her in. The woman tossed the fishy treat towards the far side of the wagon and moved closer to Lailah. "You're going to hate this and I'm sorry," the woman said to her lotine, giving her a soft pat on the top of the head. Time to heave - Sevyrn reached beneath the lotine and hauled her up to the cart. As soon as she could Lailah escaped her grasp, and gobbled up the new treat that awaited her.

With the lotine loaded up in to the crate it was time to head out - Sevyrn closed the little gate in the back of the cart uo and took the handle in to her hand, taking on the arduous task of lugging around a lotine. After leaving the yard behind Sevyrn shut the gate behind her - had to keep Al inside after all, the last thing that she needed was for the halfbreed to escape while she was out with Lailah... that would be a disaster to come home to.
Before starting the short adventure, Sevyrn checked in with Lailah. Standing at the edge of the cart Sevyrn reached in to pet her - poor thing looked terrified. "Hey - you are going to be just fine," the woman soothed. "I'm just taking you down to the breeding center - you seem like you're about ready to bloom. After that we will be right back home."

She took a moment, hoping to quell the lotine's fear - Sevyrn hadn't wanted to stress Lailah out, but how else were they supposed to get down to the breeding center? The best that Sevyrn could do at this point was promise that they would be back home soon, and reward her well for getting through it once they had returned. There was no point in lingering around the home, though - the longer that they stayed here, the longer it would be before they were back and Lailah was back in the safety and familiarity of the garden.
"Let's go get this over with, sweet girl," Sevyrn said to the lotine and then grabbed the cart by its handle, pulling it through a dirt path to the road. It wouldn't be long before they made it to the breeding center, though lugging along a lotine made for a harder trip than a couple of orbaru.

FInally! The breeding center was within Sevyrn's sight line, and a grin lit up her face - the journey was almost half way over. She parked her cart in front of it and goaded the lotine down off, a much easier task than trying to get her on, and then held the door open so that Lailah could wander in to the building. The lotine was rather timid about it, peering cautiously through the door in to a -luckily- empty waiting room. Sevyrn was patient as she waited for the lotine to be comfortable enough to wander inside, and once Lailah was finally in, Sevyrn was able to walk up to the counter and get the paperwork ready. It was the same stuff as any other time that she was here, and within minutes it was done. Now all that the pair needed to do was waiting for a room to be available.

"Alright, I'll lead you back to a room." Sevyrn had been crouched town talking to the lotine when the voice of the woman behind the desk had called to her, pulling her attention away from Lailah. Sev gave the lotine another pat on the top of the head before standing straight and urging Lailah to follow behind her - the sooner they got moving the sooner they got to the room, and the sooner that they would be starting the trip back home. Lailah, reasonably, didn't seem to understand that - she only knew that she didn't like strange people or strange places and this was a lot of both.
It took some more gentle coaxing but eventually Sevyrn was able to get the lotine moving, and once they had reached the room they were able to settle in. The open pool at the far side of the room seemed to leave Lailah feeling a little more comfortable.

Ah yes... at least the lady finally felt a bit more at peace - that wouldn't last too long, there was going to be another ride in the cart to get back home, but for now... peace. Lailah was such a sweet, timid thing that deserved to be back where she felt happiest.
"Just gotta bloom, sweetheart," Sevyrn said to the lotine as she swam around the pool and then floated to the top. The woman sat at the edge of the pool herself, one pant leg pulled up over her knee so rest her foot in the water and the other leg pulled up to her chest. When Lailah swam towards her and rested with her head against the edge of the pool, Sevyrn pulled out that fancy special fish that she'd gotten for just this moment - Lailah seemed to think it was one of the greatest treats that she had ever eaten.
