Please note...- The last date to post your introduction post is 72 hours from this post. Without an introduction post you cannot battle. - Certain moves can't be used in the Pit because of the surroundings and other moves can affect more than one creature at the same time. After all introduction posts have been posted you will be informed whether those two apply to any of your creatures' moves. - That you have 72 hours to post a response to a calculation post and/or roleplay post. The 72 hour deadline is not extended if your foe posts after a calculation post. Not meeting the deadline results in an automatic disqualification. - That characters level once every 20 posts in the Fighting Pit, but pets gain levels and loyalty towards their owners normally.

The Laredo had somehow managed to pull out a win on that Baakir. Aster hadn't thought it would after it had missed its attack, but maybe it was okay to have a little faith in the creature after all. Granted, the bar wasn't all that high for this tournament; nothing at all like some of the others he had been in. But still, a win was a win, and he wasn't going to argue with the results.
Still, his relationship with the creature wasn't what you would call close and trusting yet. It still felt pretty transactional, leading the Laredo into the Pit and unclipping the lead from its neck so that he could leave it in the sands and head up to the stands where he would be spending the rest of the battle.
They were early, and the opponent hadn't arrived yet. He wondered what they would face this time.

The last battle had been... well. It hadn’t actually happened. Fiera has arrived late due to a hair malfunction and was fully expecting to be laughed out the door, only to find out that her opponent hadn’t shown up either, meaning that... nobody won. The match was just cancelled. It wasn’t the best outcome Fiera could think of, but she supposed it ultimately came out to a tie. Still, that just made her more determined to win this one. Based on the matchups, it looked like Ophelia’s opponent this time would be a Laredo. Huh. She had never even seen one of those before, let alone trained one. It could probably surprise them then... “Stay on your toes, Ophelia.” She murmured to her amphadron as they approached the ring. Her moss amphadron took her place in the arena as Fiera went up to the stands. It was time for the next match to begin.
(Ready!)

Fiera looked her opponent over now that they were out in the open. They definitely appeared nimble, quick on their feet. They couldn’t have that. Ophelia was quite slow after all- amphadron weren’t exactly known for their fancy footwork as much as they were their impressive magical powers. Her pet would be at a disadvantage here, that was for sure... but perhaps she could even the playing field. Ophelia did know at least ONE move that would slow her opponent down, and maybe that would be all they needed to get an opening. “Ophelia, screech!” Fiera called out into the ring, and saw the characteristic head tilt that meant her pet had heard her. Good. Sure enough, Ophelia soon spread into action, bracing herself, letting small clicks bubble up in her throat. Finally she opened her jaws and while she didn’t have any particularly impressive teeth, she was able to let out a devastatingly loud screech.

At first, Aster thought maybe he had heard wrong when the trainer called out her command. It wasn't that he didn't expect any of the creatures in this tournament to have better training than the last couple of opponents they had fought. They'd seen that Mosca, hadn't they? But he didn't think Amphadrons were capable of... well, screeching.
You learn something new every day, Aster supposed. He had the chance to clap his hands over his ears, but the Laredo wasn't so lucky. They couldn't do anything about this either; a sound filled the Pit, so it wasn't like this was something they could dodge.
Better to just bide their time and wait for an opportunity... Though with an opener like that, Aster also wasn't exactly holding his breath. Clearly some thought had gone into the training of this Amphadron, and probably more thought than Aster had put into training his Laredo.

Just as she predicted, the Laredo was left spinning by the screech, and to be honest Fiera’s ears weren’t doing too well either. She didn’t quite get her hands over them in time, but she didn’t think she’d need them after this. Now that their opponent had been stunned, Ophelia could go in for a real attack. The amphadron glanced up at her as if for confirmation and Fiera nodded back at her before calling out. “Ophelia, wave!” She said, hoping that her voice carried well enough even though she couldn’t really hear herself over the ringing in her ears. As predicted though, Ophelia began moving her hands in a fashion that was now familiar to the humanish, swirling them around as if through water before bringing them over her head, summoning a wall of mucky water into existence to bring down on her opponent.

Aster was admittedly curious to see what kind of force the Amphadron was going to be bringing to bear on the Laredo. It almost certainly wasn't physical; he didn't know much about Amphadrons, but judging by the look of them, he didn't think they were a particularly physical species.
Thus, he wasn't entirely surprised to see water summoned into the ring, as if by magic.
What the Laredo made of this development, he could only guess. But then, maybe the Laredo still wasn't thinking about anything, even now. Maybe the Laredo didn't even comprehend what was about to happen to it.
"Body slam," Aster called out. He doubted the attack would connect, but the Laredo was a true mute, and not quite capable of producing a thunderous noise by virtue of his weight the way Grunty could either.
Would they survive long enough to get a solid hit in? Only time would tell.
(Anchovy uses Body Slam)

Calculations
Ophelia uses Wave of Muck! Ophelia's Dexterity of 5 + 5 rolled by staff = 10 vs. the 3 Dexterity of Anchovy Ophelia will deal the most damage possible! Wave of Muck does 5 water and 5 earth damage 10 - 7 Resistance of Anchovy = 3 Anchovy's Stamina is now 3
Anchovy uses Body Slam! Ophelia's Danger Sense activates, Anchovy misses his attack!
