Cezar Level: 0 Loyalty: 0 Stamina: 10 Strength: 12 Resistance: 7 Dexterity: 8 Mentality: 3 Special Abilities: Aquatic, Lone Wolf, Intimidation, Double-Headed, Slime, Blessing of the Shadows Moves: Shadow Bite, Constrict, Devour, Darkness, Bone Shift Ashe had been waiting for this month and the traditional contests. He always wanted to win these - having the biggest, baddest, creepiest pets was totally up his alley. Somehow, he kept getting beaten! This year, he hoped to end that streak and beat out the competition. Though he wanted to win, it was a secondary prize to be able to see the monstrous pets that were sent out to compete against him! With his trusty familiar, Inyala, on his shoulder, he walked into the Contest Hall. It felt wrong, not leading some beast on a chain, tugging it along, trying to convince it not to eat people or take a dump in the entryway. But his chosen contestant wouldn't fit in this place, and he had no way of getting him here without special transportation. Hopefully Shayna would understand! "Hi!" He greeted her, cheerfully. "I'm here to enter a rather big boy in for the contest... He's a Pliathor, mind if I bring him around later?" He hoped she didn't mind, and filled out what info he could. Inyala: +0.1 Ashe: + 0.1 *Note, Cezar is not with Ashe, as he will need special transportation later. c

Okay, now he really didn't know why he was here. ... Alright, maybe he wasn't being completely honest with himself. It was mostly the prizes. He had never given contests much thought until recently, but as it turned out, you could buy some pretty cool things with those prize points. The Pit didn't offer everything, and while the cosmetic rewards weren't really up his alley, he hadn't thought you'd be able to get, say, Sarane eggs here either. Aster would have preferred to enter a better-trained creature than the one he brought. But he didn't really have anything else that suited the theme; he selected his projects based on how powerful they were, not how freaky they could be. The crossbreed he led in on a heavy chain was still powerful, just... not a priority at the moment. But it was undead. That would suit the theme well enough, wouldn't it? After all, it wasn't like he needed to win...

'You want me to do... What?' The large creature murmurs, as well as one could murmur, through his collar of speech. Morgan leads him into the building, though he has some difficulty. "I want you to enter this contest." Morgan says to him, matter of factly.
'Hmm...' He pushes in his odd voice through the collar. 'I would have thought...' A heavy pseudo-breath of a pause 'That you'd have brought me to the pit.' He finishes, simply, following loyally. Anything if not loyal. As loyal as he could be, as a member of his species under his unique duress.
"Y-yes, perhaps someday. For now, we will measure you up here, first. Follow my lead." Morgan says. They put their hand up, telling him to lay down, and then they walk up to the registration desk. "I'd like to r-register Waar for the Freak Show." Somewhere behind them, they could hear Waar make a gentle noise- almost like that of a noise of amusement. Morgan tries not to roll their eyes at him. This would be over soon enough.

Rope was useful. One could tie snares to feed themselves, climb down sheer cliffs that had faces as smooth as polished glass, or, more simply, tie the rope around something to tether it. The only real problem with rope tended to be it’s tendency to break under less natural strains, such as sharp blades or fire, and in those cases, chains were usually the easiest replacement.
Unfortunately, as the last leash of chain she had tried to loop around the things neck had been left behind on the kennel floor as smoldering drops of metal, she was having to rely on the beast’s loyalty, of which she had little faith, and a dwindling supply of treats to keep it following her into the contest hall. She tossed it one last treat and a demand that it stay in place, then turned to the desk and the papers. “Hekesh,” she pointed at the munching and thankfully stationary creature, “threak-sshaw.” Her handwriting was only slightly more understandable as she rushed her way through the form.

Noctus, 0/0 Stamina: 1 Strength: 1 Resistance: 2 Dexterity: 4 Mentality: 2 Special Abilities: Lifeless Moves: Nip, Bone Shift Knows: Nothing Two bone familiars, two shows - Sevyrn had accidentally found her set up during one trip to the mansion. She had no expectations that she was going to win, she didn't have any time to train either of them anything good, but she hoped that they would make a worthwhile addition to the cast. They were pretty creepy little things, especially when she had first come across the pair of them fighting before she had even walked inside of the mansion. "Hey!" Sevyrn said as she walked up to the registration desk, prepared to fill out the registration form. The bone familiar ambled close to her, doing its best to intimidate anything that might be around. He didn't seem to like being here very much, did he? At least they would be heading back home soon enough - just had to get through a little while. "I would like to submit Noctus here for the freak show."

Level: 0 Loyalty: 0 Stamina: 4 Strength: 0 Resistance: 2 Dexterity: 12 Mentality: 2 Special Abilities: Float Moves: Intangible Body, Howl, Thunder 'Freak Show' sounded awfully harsh. Surely they didn't mean it in an unkind way, right? Nonetheless, Silver felt strange as they considered what creature would be the best fit for the show. They didn't want to hurt any creature's feelings by suggesting that they were 'freaks'. Then again, they could use the contest as an excuse to show a creature who didn't get a lot of attention otherwise. Once Silver reframed it like that, they had a good idea who they wanted to bring with them. Squall wasn't the most agile, magical, or beautiful creature out there, but they deserved a chance at the spotlight too. Quin was indifferent about the contest hall, but he absolutely loved Squall. The cheery little ball of cloud was super fun to chase around, and they seemingly never got tired of it. They could also phase out of existence which instantly won Quin over. The two continued to chase each other around and bounce all over the place as Silver took their place in line and patiently waited to be registered. They were used to filling out the registration paperwork by now, so when it was their turn they made quick work of it. "This is... Squall," Silver looked all around trying to find the Demi. "Ah, sorry, this is Squall, and I'd like to register for the Freak Show, please."

Which. Kadin hadn't expected to hear from an equillion, in general? But for some reason he wasn't surprised when it came from Velkar. When he want to the contest hall and saw what types of contest was running, other than the one he'd already entered a wiurn in, it made even more sense. "Hey." He said to the person behind the registration counter, nodding to them as he grabbed a form for the Freak Show. He didn't get why Velkar wanted to join this competition in particular, but there was no point of entering it and then not even trying to win. So he figured that once it started he'd help her out as best he could. He put the finishing touches on the form and handed it over, wondering how long he had to mentally prepare himself for all... this.

This is stupid.
We're not even in the door yet, don't you think it's a little early to cast judgement?
I've been here. It was stupid last time, it's stupid now.
There was a sigh as the mammalian walked beside the equillion, approaching the building and the registration desk. It had been a good long while since she had been here, and longer still than Nightmare last visited it, but some sentiments proved to be timeless. You actually did pretty good last time, tho, the sphinx tried to convince the equillion, patting her body side. And this time around it's basically a contest you're made to fit into.
A grunted noise and a puff of blue-green smoke drifted past her, as the red eye glared. Made to.. Feh. It's going to be over-fed, stupid serpents and other stupid things again. The equillion had an aura about her that made many a (smart) person give her a wide berth, but the saline content of her thoughts were particularly high on that day, it seemed. The sphinx almost wanted to promise her that that won't be the case, that most things are probably going to be much smaller and less cause for feelings of very specific and particular vindication.. but it wasn't exactly a promise she could make until they actually reached the place.
It will be fine.. Look, just.. avoid trying to kill anybody, show off your good side for a little bit and we'll be back home before you know it, Darky finally bargained. At that, there was no vocal response from the equillion, except a reserved sense of acceptance. Nightmare didn't like most people (most things, even), much less crowds of 'dumb' things, but the prospect of scaring the daylights out of some unsuspecting poor sods had an appeal that could make it worth it, she had to admit.
The two made their way up to the registry counter, where the sphinx had her wait a few steps back, before making the introductions, "Hello, I would like to enter Nightmare here into the Freak Show contest, please?"
(1) Nightmare: 93 (1/5)

Xentus was.. Reluctant to enter any of his collection to the freak show. How harsh was that? To claim any creature a freak? To put them on display for looking different or odd. The leopard sighed. He did want to participate, for the immersion into the culture of this city more than anything. But he didn't want Astaroth to think poorly of him. It was a being that demanded respect. A talkesh. His relationship over this three headed being was a distanced one. Xentus was his guardian, as he felt himself to be for his sentient beasts. The talkesh was fond of him for providing refuge for it in his home. Rarely did the talkesh leave the lands around his home, much less travel to more populated areas of the city. And most certainly not go before a crowd of people looking to gawk at freaks of nature.
But here they were. Astaroth trusted him. A nervous trust. Before them waiting to register were most definitely freaks. The undead. Xentus was appalled by the sight of moving beasts with rotten flesh. And beside them, their owners, nonchalantly leading them as if they were puppies. The people of this city.. Were strange. "Greetings", the leopard sighed when it came to his turn, "Xentus is entering Astaroth to the.. Freak show."

Wow. The contest hall was certainly packed this time of year, wasn't it? Fiera could barely see where she was going over the throng of people and pets. Frankly it... smelled really bad in here too. True it was a freak show and thus one could expect to see a variety of horrible beasts here, but did people really have to enter SO many undead creatures? Or maybe it was what these freaks ate- she could detect an absolute reek of rotten fish from somewhere in the contest hall, making her gag. Arethusa hardly seemed bothered however, sniffing the air happily. Maybe to her, it smelled like food. The equillion did seem a little out of place in comparison to everything else here, but she figured that that just made her the freak, now didn't it? Not to mention she had a lot of surprises in store for the judges with some very... un-equilion traits.
