She was lonely. It was probably evident on her face, but she didn't know what was missing and that was an issue. Maybe one of these days she would figure it out, but for now she didn't think it really mattered. Forcing a smile, she leaned back in her chair with a little sigh. Things were weird right now, something had left, she thought, but couldn't remember what it was. Oh well, maybe that hit to the head had been worse than she had thought, but that's what happened when she trained big animals. "Just let me know and I'll be happy to come over!" she grinned, "Things are alright, I've dived into working with my animals. Feels like something's missing right now though, I can't quite figure it out."
With his big paws tripping over themselves again, he found himself on the floor. Light gave a woof and picked himself back up, looking at Mabel with a pleased look in his eyes. Apparently she knew what was going on and was pretty happy about it.

Nadia felt concern tug at her. She didn't like to see her friends in any state of distress, however mild or well-disguised; she always hoped for them to be content at least. She reached out to gently rest a hand atop Jack's, in a display of comfort. "My friend, I am always available to you if you need company, or to talk," She said, giving Jack an encouraging smile to prove her sincerity. "It would be my honour to assist you as you have assisted me. Please, do not keep things to yourself. I will share with you if you so wish." Oops, there he went again! Mabel couldn't help looking more amused this time, but she wasn't laughing at him - she was laughing with him. It was fun to be around him! They could play a little, if he wanted. By the looks of it, there were some toys nearby! [16]

Smiling, she patted Nadia's hand and shrugged, "I got hit on the head awhile ago while I was training and now it feels something is missing, I just can't think of what it is. I've been through a lot since I've been here, I lost most of the function of my leg, then I lost my leg and it grew back, I've been hit, cut, hurt, all while training, and I'm just... Is there something missing in my life? I'm not sure, but it feels like it." Jack let it all dump from her as she looked down at their hands together, and then she smiled a little, "But I am really happy to have a friend like you."
Light glanced over at the woman and whined, she was upset and he always tried to help her, but the other woman was with her now, so he turned back to Mabel and let out a deep woof before bounding as best as he could over to the toys and grabbed a rope on one end, letting the other flop toward the Matronne.

Nadia hated to see Jack feeling that way. She slipped her hand into the other woman's and squeezed, holding eye contact as best she could. "I understand. My goodness, did you get that checked out? There might be some sort of issue from a knock like that," She fretted, quickly scanning over Jack's head with her gaze for any noticeable injuries. "You know, I feel a similar way. Like I am unsure of where I am headed... but is that not the beauty of life? Uncertainty? We can find our paths together, and that may make the road a little less lonely." Mabel was going to refrain from interfering with the human conversation. It wasn't usually anything she found interesting! Her full enthusiasm was thrown into playing with the rope, which she snatched up and tugged at full-force. No chances were given to Light! He had the size advantage after all. [18]

"I suppose..." Jack mused, thinking about it for a moment, her eyes on the ceiling for now as she thought, "I'm just not sure what to expect, and usually I find that amazing, but for now? I dunno, it just makes me feel lonely, even though I have friends like you." She smiled a little when she thought about it, she wasn't sure if her friends had what she was missing or what at this point, but that was fine when she thought about it. Well, as much as she dwelled on it, it wasn't getting any better, and she just sighed a little as she thought about it again.
The Houluh barked around the rope when she yanked it back and he planted his paws on the floor and tugged as hard as he could. He wasn't trying to upset her off of the floor, but it might come to that with his size.

Woah! Mabel had underestimated just how strong Light was, and went skidding across the floor towards him when he started tugging, her claws scrabbling for purchase. It wasn't so bad, ending up nose to nose with him, though. Actually, it was rather nice... "Of course. You are allowed to feel that way, dear," Nadia encouraged her friend, giving her hand another soothing squeeze. "It is perfectly okay if you don't have everything worked out right this moment. Take it one step at a time. I can help you if you need me to, or leave you alone. Neither will offend me, I promise." It was good to see the two houluh getting on. That was a positive - there was new life to look forward to, and thus new beginnings. It could be difficult to see the rainbow behind the rain, but she was sure that with time, Jack could get there.
