Now that the dragon oak’s name was sorted, Kadin figured that it was about time he got to Alba’s training. He didn’t want to keep putting it off, even if it was pretty interesting to try and figure out what Meissa liked and disliked. So he turned towards Alba next and caught her attention with a nice apple treat, one of the very ones he’d used to win her over at the adoption agency. He knew that she’d be very motivated to do basically anything for these treats and he was right. The moment she smelled them she was coming over to him, crowding, and trying to get one from him.
Since the human didn’t seem to be showing much interest in her anymore, Meissa decided that she would go off and do her own thing. These were the gardens, after all, and no self respecting dragon oak needed a human around to properly appreciate the gardens. She went to find a nice patch of sun somewhere she could properly soak up the sun’s rays. That was why she had come here, after all, she wanted a break from the artificial lights where they were now.

“Not just yet, girl.” He said, amused. He moved over to a nearby tree and climbed up it a bit, placing the apple high up on the branches, just out of reach of her. This was where the training came into play. Kadin jumped down from the tree and moved to the side so she wouldn’t accidentally hurt him while she was going for the treat. He needed her to learn ‘bash’ and he figured that the best place to start out was by teaching her to knock over big heavy stuff to get to a treat, right? Of course, Alba didn’t wait for Kadin to give her a command before she was trying to stand up on her hind legs to get to the treats.
It would take a bit of finding, it seemed. Many of the places in the garden were still pretty wild. It was obvious that some work had been done in it here and there, but it was also obvious that no plant creatures lived here full time in order to maintain the space. Meissa looked in dismay at the tangled thorns and vines that covered many patches of the garden. It was horrible, really.

This really wasn’t the way that a garden was supposed to be kept up, not like this at all.
He rolled his eyes and said, “Bash, Alba!” But she mostly ignored him in her one-tracked mind to get the apple. Once she realize that she wasn’t tall enough to get to it. She fell back to the earth with a huff. She stared at the tree resentfully and then she stared at Kadin, even more resentfully, if that was possible. Kadin shrugged and walked over to her to stand next to her and stare up at the apple, too. Then he moved over to the tree and shoved his shoulder against it. “Bash.” He tried to explain to a creature who had no idea what he was doing. Then he went to stand next to her again.
Why hadn’t the human assigned any of the garden pets to live here yet? If he had a healthy ecosystem here then there’s be much less tangled plants because the garden pets would want to maintain their own ideal habitat. She had NOT come here in order to clean up! She’d come here in order to enjoy some time in the sun!

But it seemed as if she’d have to do some cleaning up if she wanted to find a good patch of sun at all.
Alba snorted. She didn’t have time for this nonsense, whatever this nonsense was. She didn’t see the reason why the human seemed to insist so much on making it difficult to get the apple when it was right there. With a rumbling growl, she moved over to the tree and shoved her head against it, hoping to shake the apple down. The tree shuddered, but still stood, and the apple was still annoyingly out of reach. “Bash!” Kadin kept saying, which she didn’t understand, so she chose to keep ignoring him. She shoved her head against the tree again, but it still didn’t work.
Still, it seemed like she might have to clean up if she wanted to reach her ultimate goal. This place was a whole entire mess. She quickly wandered around to see if she could find any place that was salvageable, but even the places where some work had been done were a bit messy. It was like they'd been stopped right in the middle of their projects and not able to finish.

What she was able to find were some berries and other things like that, but that didn’t hold her interest too much. She wanted space for herself right now, not for other plants. The berries and such could be left for the human to deal with. He'd obviously be more interested in them than she would ever be. She just wanted a nice patch of sunlight all to herself! Was that really so much to ask?
Frustrated and hungry, Alba grumbled again and shoved her shoulder against the tree next time, making it shake even harder. “Bash! Good girl, Alba!” Kadin said, pleased. The apple didn’t fall, but he offered her another apple from where he was keeping the treats. She stared in disbelief for a moment before quickly munching the apple down, her shock not able to get over her desire for the treats in the slightest! “Good girl, Alba, good bash.” Kadin kept saying weird things like that, but Alba didn’t care about whatever nonsense he was saying as long as she got treats. She snuffed around him and his pockets once she was done, looking for more, but Kadin only shoved her head away and pointed to the tree.

“Bash!” He suggested. Alba snorted. If he had treats on him and he wanted to give her treats, why did they have to do this whole song and dance about it? But… on the other hand. There WAS still and apple up there. She looked up, tilting her head to try and get a better idea of where it was in the tree. She could SMELL it, that was what mattered. She snorted and walked back over, considering the tree. She tried hitting it with her head again, but that still didn’t work. She glanced over at Kadin and back at the tree. Then she backed up and rammed into the tree with her shoulder, shaking it wildly, but still no apple fell. That didn’t seemed to matter as much, though.
Messia was despairing. She was distressed. She was very unhappy about this! All of this land, all of these places, and she was stuck in an over grown garden! With an unhappy grumble she started clearing out a place for herself since no good places could be found otherwise. It was extremely frustrating, as she grumbled to herself, to keep unearthing berries and grasses and other thing she didn’t care about.

She felt like she was helping the human and not getting any help in return.
“Good, Alba! Good bash!” Kadin encouraged, offering her another apple treat right from his pocket. So he DID have a stock of them hidden still! Alba accepted the treat, still grumbling about how it should have been given to her much sooner than this. She munched on it happily and didn’t even snort when Kadin pointed to the tree again and told her to ‘bash’. She lifted her nose to smell and, yup. The apple was still up there. How was it still up there? She lifted up onto her hind legs again to try and see it, but it was hidden in the branches where he’d put it. Hmm. Well she DID still want that apple.
He should really move the rest of his plant pets over to here. Then this area would be so much more manageable. Why were they stuck in a kennel with artificial grow lights when there was all this space just waiting for them out here? It made no sense at all. Perhaps he didn’t know he could keep his pets here. He sure should learn!

Her leaves and bark would be so much better off if she was able to be out here with the natural soils instead of inside all the time.
They continued on in much this same manner, Kadin telling Alba to bash the tree and then giving her a treat she put her shoulder to it. It was a strong tree with a deep root system so it was able to take quite the beating from a very determined thundergug. After each attempt where she wasn’t able to get the tree to fall down and get the apple, Alba seemed to get more and more frustrated. This meant that she put more and more strength behind her attack each time, which Kadin heavily encouraged. Eventually, Alba hit the tree so hard that it did come crashing down! Kadin gave her an entire bag of apples for that one and praised her on a bash successfully done.
Maybe she’d just refuse to leave. He’d want to leave once he accomplished whatever his goals where here, but she would REFUSE and there would be nothing he’d be able to do about it because she’s decided that she’ll just live here now.

What could he really do, try and get her to leave when she didn't want to? She was pretty sure he wouldn't be able to move her, especially not if she literally dug her feet in and refused to be unplanted from the soil. And if she was here maybe he'd try to bring her parents here next to reason with her and then she'd just convince THEM to stay too! It would be a plant revolution! The human would be completely overwhelmed and not know what to do! Then all of the plants could live here like they were supposed to instead of the damned kennels.
Now that Alba pretty much had bash down, Kadin figured that they deserved a little break from all that hard work. He walked over to a patch of land where he could sit up against a tree and feed Alba some more apples. She deserved it for all of the hard work she'd put in so far. He didn't regret anything he was doing, not even his plant to enter her into a tournament soon. She was big and strong and now she knew how to defend herself a bit so he was sure she would be fine.

And they'd be able to properly maintain the space like they should have been all along. And they'd all have her to thank for it! Meissa like this plant, she decided. She especially liked it as she cleared away a space of land just for herself and then carefully began digging herself into the soil. The human would never see this coming. She'd be happily planted, getting everything she needed from the dirt and sunshine, and she would NOT leave. And he'd just have to accept that this was his life now, with a plant revolution on his hands. Before he knew it they will have revolted against him!!!
Although it probably wouldn't hurt to teach her something else useful. She knew how to attack, but he was sure that a lot of pets would also know how to dodge attacks like her's. If he wanted to have a good strategy against them, he'd have to teach her something that would confuse them so that they couldn't just dodge out of the way when she tried to go at them. He hummed to himself, considering his options. Something loud, a sound based attack would probably work best for that. Charge wouldn't be as reliable.

In order to properly conduct herself in the pit, there were certain basic moves and abilities Kadin figured all pets should have. Alba was pretty close already, what with just being a thundergug she knew a lot of the things he’d probably train her to do otherwise. But he knew that, without a doubt, there would be plenty of pets in the pit that would be able to sense her coming and try and dodge out of the way of her attacks. In order to counter that, she needed something to scare them and rattle them just enough that they wouldn’t be able to pull that off. She needed to know how to roar.
Now that she had decided that she’d lead a plant uprising and buried herself in the dirt, it didn’t take long for Meissa to get. Well. BORED. She ignored it at first, instead deciding that what she really wanted to do was to take a nap and this wasn’t so bad at all, really, she was exactly where she wanted to be. She needed to make a strong stand to make her uprising happen and it wasn’t like she needed to be awake to soak in the sunlight.

Unfortunately, she wasn’t all that vocal. He hadn’t had a chance to really get her to make a lot of noise just yet. And he wasn’t about to do something like stepping on her toes just to get her to cry out or something equally stupid. So Kadin stayed under the tree, considering the problem, and wondering what he could do in order to encourage her to make the noise he needed to teach her how to roar. He could probably tease her with treats until she eventually made some noise about it, but he’d be a bit worried about his own safety for that. What if she got pissed off and just decided to take what she wanted?
So she closed her eyes and pretended to be asleep. Wait, no, I mean… She tried to fall asleep. She really did intend to sleep, I swear! But the longer she just laid there the more quickly she realized that this wasn’t working. She was still used to the cool, sterile atmosphere of the kennels. There was just so much buzzing life here, at the outside. Things kept getting her attention! It was hard to sleep when the whole world was breathing around her.

He might not survive teasing her too much. Just look at what happened to that tree! Kadin sighed to himself, wondering what he could possibly do and still coming up blank. Eventually he’d have to pick himself up off his ass and actually try to figure something out instead of sighing about it the whole time. With a shrug, he did just that, and decided to try and just follow Alba around and watch her to see when she made some noise to try and catch the behavior in action. If he didn’t give a crap he could probably just bring a predator in here and have her roar at that, but he didn’t want to risk her life or (especially) the life of said predator.
Still. This was the spot she had chosen as her protest spot. She couldn’t move NOW because if she did the human might try to take her away once he was done with whatever she was doing! She couldn’t lead her revolution if she was taken away. So she stubbornly dug herself in deeper and closed her eyes even more firmly, telling herself she would not be moved from this spot!

She was going to take a nap and the next thing she knew it would be time for revolution!
So instead he was stuck just following her around and waiting for her to make some noise. And it sure did take a while. Eventually he notice that if she found a food she particularly liked she’d start to make these small grunting noises. Curious, he told her, “Good, Alba? Are those good?” She seemed to ignore him now that he wasn’t actively giving her treats and just kept moving around, looking for more food. That wasn’t going to work. He kept following her around, but still nothing. Eventually they came to a fence that seemed to boarder someone else’s property. Alba nudged at it with her nose and then grumbled about it, but the noise she made wasn’t anywhere near loud enough to qualify as a roar.
A cricket jumped on top of her head and she erupted out of the dirt as if something had bit her damn tail. That was it! She couldn’t do it anymore! She still wanted to lead a revolution but she’d just do it from above the ground now!
