Eventually, slowly, her patience started to pay off. She could see some fish coming back. They came to the bank, poking around in the mud, looking for food. Cookie tensed up, staring at the fish, waiting for them to get closer. She didn’t want them to notice her until she was ready to go get them! she was learning! If she moved too quickly they’d swim away and she wouldn’t be able to get them but she wanted to!
After along while, Cirrus was finally tempted away from staring at the radio. Kadin rubbed his back, waiting for him to calm down. He waited until Cirrus laid down on his own, whining a bit, but ultimately relaxing despite the loud noise only feet away from them. He clearly still didn’t like it, but he wasn’t letting it bother him anymore. Kadin threw in some other loud noises, too. He clapped his hands, loudly, near his ears. Cirrus startled a bit, but settled down to that, too. He seemed like he was getting used to any of the loud noises that happened around him. After listening to loud rock music for so long, it was no wonder. If he could get through that he could tolerate anything!

Just as he wrapped up the latest trick, Kadin heard some splashing not too far away from where he'd been training Cirrus. Curious, he walked over to the pool. He was surprised to see Cookie get there first. She was staring into the water, completely captivated, looking at two fish that were flopping around in there. Fighting? Apparently? Cookie looked like she was trying to catch the fish, but she was frozen over the pool, afraid that they would run away from her. Before he came over, Kadin ran back to grab a couple of buckets. He filled them up and then Kadin walked over and crouched down near the pool. He reached out, trying to grab at the two fish that were fighting to maybe separate them. Fighting in a place like this wouldn't do either of them any good.
Curious about all the commotion, Cirrus also walked over, sniffing at the pool and trying to see what Kadin, Cookie, and the fish were all up to. This was exciting! He circled around to the other side of the pool, instincts kicking in. He didn't want the fish to escape out the other side! With all through surrounding them, they wouldn't be able to!

The mudfish were over this already, getting plucked by someone wasn't fun, and there was a stream of water that came from one of them as it was grabbed. The skippernipper splashed a little as well with it's tail, wondering what was going to happen now that they had been found. This wasn't good, and apparently it was the smartest of the three of them, as it backed away in the water, watching as the scene unfolded.

Kadin picked up the squirming fish, frowning at it flopped all over the place. He quickly transferred it to one of the buckets, not wanting to keep it out of the water for too long. Then he went to go reach for the next fish. Luckily he'd brought over three buckets since he'd seen that there were three fish in the puddle so he'd be able to separate them out and prevent any future fights. He just hoped that grabbing the second mud fish would be as easy as catching the first.
Cookie barked, alerting when the other fish looked like it was trying to get away! She quickly ran around, blocking its way out of the puddle. Cirrus quickly came to join her, too, excited to actually try and catch a fish! He'd tried before but didn't have much luck! It was so exciting to try again now! Both houluh worked together, instincts kicking in, to keep the fish away from the river where it could escape and close enough that Kadin would be able to try and catch it after he was done with the other fish.
Kadin looked up briefly from where he was reaching for the mudfish, shooting his pups a grin. They were pretty great.

The mudfish squirmed as it was picked up, and the skippernipper looked a little panicked when the Houluh came around to bark at it. What was going to happen to them? If the three of them could cry out, they would, but they were helpless against the man and his Houluh. A shell and a little fish seemed to go unnoticed for awhile, at least until now.

Kadin picked up the second mudfish and put it in its own bucket. It wiggled around and slapped him a few times, but he got it in there and that was what counted, right? Next up was the last fish. Luckily, his houluh had cornered it so it couldn't get away. He walked right through the little puddle it was in so it didn't try to circle around and escape if he stayed on the bank. He reached down to try and catch this one with his hands, too, hoping that it wouldn't be too slippery. It looked like it might be difficult to keep ahold of, but he was sure that once he got a firm gripe on it he'd be able to transfer it to the last bucket without too much fuss.
In the meantime, his pups looked pretty damn proud of themselves. Cookie and Cirrus were both wagging their tails like mad, thrilled that they got to help catch some fish! Real fish! Their own solitary attempts hadn't gone so well, but this time they really helped and their human looked very proud of them! They were sure to get a whole lot of treats once he got all the fish away.

The two mudfish were miserable in the bucket, but they knew they were still close to each other. Already caught, there was nothing else they could do. The skippernipper, however, fought some, as best as it could for the moment, before it finally relented and sulked, there was no way it could escape, not like this... Defeated, it turned it's head away from the man, however, to show it wouldn't be broken.
[Congratulations, you've caught the fish!]

Cirrus watched Kadin put the last fish into the bucket, utterly thrilled at what a job well done he’d done! He and Cookie had been so good! They helped so much! Kadin gave them BOTH pats and treats after the fish was put away and he was so happy he was wiggling all over the place! But then Kadin looked like he was going to do some training with Cookie. No problem! Cirrus was riding a high from catching that fish!
Now that that excitement was out of the way, Kadin figured it was time to train Cookie something again. He’d been working with Cirrus for a while and she was due for something new. He gathered up a bunch of different toys and put them somewhere just out of reach of her, but where he’d have easy access to them. They were pretty cheap toys, actually, once that would be easy to rip up. Why that was would become pretty obvious soon enough. He held out a toy, showing it to Cookie. With a playful growl, she took it and started shaking it around, growling and and running around with the toy. Kadin grabbed at it playfully, trying to pull it away from her.

Cirrus trotted around the small pool while Kadin and Cookie worked on something new. He knew that there were more fish in there and he would find them! He would find them, too, and bring them to Kadin and then he’d get a LOT of praise and treats, he just knew it! He was such a good boy and Kadin was SO happy with him and all the help he did to catch the fish! He sniffed around the pools, looking for any other fish he might find.
But Cookie growled and wouldn’t let it go! So he dropped it and let her have it.
With a playful growl, Cookie took the toy a little ways away and put it on the ground. She placed one paw on the toy and started tearing into it with her teeth. It was just so satisfying to try and pull the toy apart! Pleased that she was getting to this point on her own, Kadin called out, “Shred! Good Cookie!”
He probably would regret teaching her to tear up soft toys like this in the further, but for now it’s where he was going with. He offered her a treat for started to tear up the toy, which she accepted.

But wouldn’t you know it? The first thing he found was another of those red crawly things! Cirrus barked at it, fierce. It wouldn’t scare him! He’d get it! Just like he chased the other one and got it! He barked and barked at it, going after it while it ran this way and that, looking for food. Just like the other one it looked like it was actually ignoring him a lot? But he was determined to catch it and bring it back to Kadin!
The he waited for her to start doing it again. True to form, Cookie went back to tearing up the toy. She went for one of the legs, pulling at it with her teeth and growling fiercely. “Shred! Good Cookie!”
Kadin praised her again and offered her another treat, which she accepted. She liked this very much! Being praised just for playing with her toys? Who wouldn’t like that! Once she got her next treat she could go back to playing with her toy, too! Kadin kept this up, praising Cookie for methodically tearing up her toy. He especially praised her when she went for the legs, giving her extra treats and pets for those in particular.

The red thing ended up running away from him again, but he was sure that Kadin was going to find it and catch it, anyway, so he didn’t feel too bad about it. He did his job of letting everyone know that it was there! Next he needed to find something else! He went back to the pool, sniffing around. This time he didn’t find a fish at all, but instead there were a bunch of rocks. Wait. Not rocks. Shells! He also kept telling her the word “shred” to get her familiar with it. He wanted to make sure she knew what it was for the next steps. Once that first toy was pretty much destroyed, Kadin reached for another one. He offered it to Cookie and told her, “Shred!” Cookie took the toy with a playful growl and, true to form, started to try and tear it up. She pulled at the parts that were easy to get to first. The arms and the legs. Then she could go for the stuffing inside! She pulled it out and made a HUGE mess, making Kadin glad he’d chosen toys with more natural ingredients so he wouldn’t have to feel too bad about leaving a bit of a mess behind. He picked one up in his mouth, laying down to try and chew on it, but it wasn’t very nice to chew on. He spit it out, whining, then sniffed at it some. It was kinda like a weird human thing. Maybe Kadin would like it? He picked it up again and trotted over, dropping it by all of Kadin’s stuff. He didn’t know if this would actually be useful, but HE didn’t want it and it wasn’t good to eat, so it was probably something a human would appreciate.
As always, when she went for the legs he’d praise her for it and give her a treat, telling her to “shred” again until the toy was completely destroyed.
Well. Kadin grabbed another one and repeated the process. Then he let her destroy two more of the same small plush toys just to be on the safe side. Each time, he told her to “shred” them and praised her when she did just that. She got extra treats for going for the legs. Once all of those toys were destroyed, Kadin brought out the big guns.
He had a larger galabex kinda toy that wasn’t quite the size of an actual galabex, but followed the body type closely enough.

Cirrus quickly ran back to the pool to get another shell. There were a LOT there and he wanted to bring them all over just in case Kadin liked them. He grabbed up a bunch more and brought them over, running back and forth until every shell he could find was over by Kadin’s stuff. He wanted to make sure he had all the weird human things he could possibly want! After all, he was a weird human, and no one else could do better with all this stuff!
He placed it down and pointed to it, telling Cookie, “Shred!”
Cookie walked up to the toy and sniffed at it, wagging her tail and acting as if it was another pet. Kadin sighed. He should have seen this coming. He tried again, pointed to the legs and tossing some stuffing towards it, encouraging her to, “Shred!”
Cookie tilted her head, still confused. But then she sniffed at the leg Kadin was pointing to. “Good girl, Cookie!” He encouraged. “Shred!”
Cookie bit at the leg, growling playfully, just like she did with the small stuffed toys. “Good girl, Cookie!” Kadin encouraged even more. “Good girl! Shred!” He kept encouraging her the same way, wanting her to shred the toy.

Once all of the shells were brought over, he went back to looking for fish. But wouldn’t you know it? Instead of finding fish, he started to find WORMS! There was one wiggling out of the sand right where he’d been looking for fish! Cirrus growled and barked at it, but it wasn’t paying attention to him. Could worms even hear you? Cirrus sniffed at it, not sure how to scare away something that didn’t have eyes to see him or ears to hear him.
He urged her to do more, putting excitement into his voice just like he had done with the other toys. “Shred!”
Encouraged, Cookie growled some more and put her paws on the leg to brace herself, clawing and biting and pulling to try and get some of that fur off! She could do it! Just like she’d done to the other ones! Kadin kept encouraging her. Once she was able to tear some of the fur away and get to the stuffing on the inside, he stopped her with a, “Good girl, Cookie! Great job, good shred!” And gave her plenty of treats for a job well done. Kadin repeated this for all four legs until Cookie could shred them up like a pro.
