"This card is for holding your quest point count, better known as QP. For completing quests on the board around the kennel, like the assistance to the scientists last month, you get a small amount of points. These can be used at the Questing Inquisitor shop. We offer all sorts of bits, bobs, and objects for sale. QP can also be exchanged for credits directly or for the Inquisitor herself to train your pet up for a few levels. Please keep this card safe; the Inquisitor will replace lost cards, at a cost." The card detached itself without much pulling from the postcard I'd woken up to having lodged in my kennel gate. New residents could apply for a mailbox, according to Kevin's tour. Reading through the thing and trying to make heads or tails against my translation guide. quest points... were worth money? I could use some more funds. I needed some basic supplies to make my home livable and have a better time for Mira and now Dawson. The card in my paw, I find the shop. The counter. I would like to exchange my quest point count for some credits please., I say.
[buying 3qp of credits, 500c total]

Jolyne looked the newcomer up and down. She usually didn’t put that much attention into recognizing repeat customers and couldn’t say she knew anyone’s name, but this was for sure a new face to her store. She shrugged and took the card from the mammalian, swiping it through her point counting doohickey. “Looks like you’ve got... three quest points. You wanna convert all of those to credits?” She said, confirming the customer’s choice.

Yes, ma'am, I tell her. I am new to the city, and I want to save up for some shopping. It was a good turnaround, for doing a job. I didn't know how much my points were worth, but the figures would help me afford to buy basic supplies. The list rattled around inside my head, becoming longer by the hour. Stuff to make the metal box livable for me, stuff to feed and care for Mira and Dawson... and perhaps to work for affording something better. The costume party behind me, and the outfit returned, I didn't have much to wear for myself, when I do choose to wear clothes. The floofy wool blankets I got in the mail were warm, but with winter eventually on the way, the metal box would be very cold. No, its not a metal box. Its an indoor den. Yes. I was ready for doing this.

"Alright then," she said. She swiped the card through the machine and counted the appropriate amount of credits out. She pushed them toward the customer and said, "Here you go." It seemed that was all she had to say.
