That Thylo didn't last as long as the others did... or was Reoz getting bigger and hungrier? Ashe couldn't tell that well because he saw Reoz so often now. But he was pretty sure the beast was indeed getting bigger... he needed a scale at home to weigh his monsters, come to think of it. Even if he wasn't getting taller, then he had to be filling out somewhere surely. But there was a sense of confidence about him now, as he walked with Ashe to the Pit. They seemed to make thi trip often, didn't they? Ashe led them to the pit doors and shoved them open, showing the corpse inside. Reoz went without protest. Food waited inside. It would come to him, he didnt have to go hunt it himself. It almost literally jumped down his throat just for him! The pit was empty now but just you wait....
Ashe left him alone and went to the stands to wait for the trod to arrive.

The trod arrived a little later than usual this time. It had had a heck of a time getting control of this rowdy beast! The galabex was all legs and antlers and it didn't quite trust the metal machine man. There were some scuffs that needed to be buffed out of the armor the next time Ashe didn't maintenance, but for now everything was still functioning. The galabex was hobbled, so they were walking and not prancing anymore. The shuffle slowed them down even further. But they made it! Finally. The trod led the galabex to the doors, opened them into the pit, cut the bindings, and herded the animal in. It fled away from the trod and accidentally toward the corpse construct, but before it could change its mind the trod shut the door. The trod then headed up to the stands, where it would stand, stoic, until Ashe commanded it to go elsewhere and bring the next participant in.
Down below, the galabex was bounding this way and that.

Notes
- Reoz can use all moves and abilities he knows
- Greatwood can use all moves and abilities he knows
- Greatwood goes first due to higher Dexterity

Reoz's gaze never left the Greatwood as it bounded this way and that way. He entertained himself a little by sometimes trying to go after it, just to make it move in the other direction, or to make it move faster. It was quite a fun game! It was a sort of cat and mouse style that Reoz only knew by an innate predatory instinct, not something from experience or playtime that he'd had before. The greatwood even jumped over his head once, and the corpse was too sluggish to get him right then. For some reason, when Ashe called out commands, he was motivated to move faster than if it was just him on his own. Like right now, he was content to watch.... and drool... and look forward to the coming meal.
Ashe in the stands watched, slightly concerned. His foes were getting bigger and faster. On purpose, of course, but Ashe still worried it might be too much to handle.
"Crunch!" he called suddenly, breaking the silence.

PANIC! PANIC AND RUN! Run away!! The greatwood did not like the metal man that brought it here. The greatwood did not like the pit it was left in. The greatwood did not like the monster it was left with! So it did the only thing it knew how to do well and that was to run! It didn't seem to care that it might be running itself to death, bringing on the fatigue on that much faster. And when it got too tired to run? And it couldn't hide? What then? It didn't think of the future. Only now. There would be no future if it didn't figure out the here and now.
The greatwood slowed, heart hammering in its chest. While it would love to just continue to run away... there wasn't really any away to go to. And the creature wasn't exactly coming after him... or was he? God he was getting close! The galabex reacted on pure instinct.

Calculations
Greatwood uses Dodge! Greatwood's Dexterity increases by 3 for 1 round
Reoz uses Crunch! Reoz's Dexterity of 2 + 5 rolled by staff = 7 vs. the 9 Dexterity of Greatwood Reoz misses his attack!

Ashe let out a short string of curse words when he saw the galabex dodge. How did that thing freaking dodge Reoz's grasp? Lucky little shit. He kept his eyes on his corpse, to see how Reoz would handle it. He had never missed his shot before and this could change the tides. What would Ashe do... if the food beat his corpse construct? He had never thought of that before now. Not that the galabex really had a chance in he'll, assuming Reoz could grab him. One crunch on a little stick leg...
Down below, it took Reoz a couple of seconds to realize that his maw was empty. He chewed air for a second or two, then hissed and whipped around. Empty! His mouth was empty! Had he missed? Was that possible? He saw the galabex skipping away and realized the food had escaped! He regrouped and decided to double his efforts this time. Ashe called out the command he'd been waiting for: "Crunch!"
[Reoz uses crunch]

The Galabex had wanted to attack the thing, it really did! But at the last second, it got scared and did what Galabex did best; it ran away. It turned tail and sprinted, ducking out of the way as the giant monster crash down and chomped on air - instead of the galabex's own precious neck. It ran another few laps around the pit, leaping and bounding, until it felt safe enough to slow down again. Sides heaving anew, it seemed to understand it was lucky to be alive. And to remain alive, it had to stay alert. And ready. And suspicious. It kept its eyes on the corpse construct at all times, hardly daring to blink. An ear would flicker as it picked up some sounds, but other than that it remained still, poised, braced.
And then the stress of it all became too much to contain in that springy body, and it did something else unexpected. Instinct ruled the game today.

Calculations
Greatwood uses Horn Strike! Reoz's Danger Sense activates, Greatwood misses it's attack!
Reoz uses Crunch! Reoz's Dexterity of 2 + 6 rolled by staff = 8 vs. the 6 Dexterity of Greatwood Reoz will deal the most damage possible! Reoz's Strength of 3 + 6 damage of Crunch = 9 damage 9 - 2 Resistance of Greatwood = 7 Greatwood's Stamina is now -2
Reoz may now use Devour!

After that misshap earlier, Reoz wasn't going to let another opportunity slip by. The galabex charged him this time, head lowered to hit him with those antlers. Ashe above had a moment to think what would happen if those antlers made contact, if they dug into Reoz's rotting flesh. Would they stick? Would it really hurt Reoz? He was curious but not curious enough to let it happen. He had trained his corpse well enough now that he deftly dodged the blow, swung around, and sank his teeth into the shoulder of the galabex. Bones crunched and blood dripped and the galabex stopped struggling as it passed out.
Now the fun would begin, Reoz figured. He lowered the corpse to the ground and held it steady. The first attempt, he got caught on the antlers and he had to pull back and try again. It took a couple of tries, and but he managed to bend the body in such a way the antlers wouldn't pierce his throat. And then the last hoof disappeared.
[Reoz uses devour]
