Another day, another contest. This time it was a salonne. It had been a minute or two before Kadin had entered Cookie in a salonne and he was eager to see if Lux would fair any better than she had. He made his way over to the desk to register his houluh, filling out all of the required paperwork and wondering if the competition would be just as fierce this time. Hopefully it'd be a bit easier. There were so many houluh entered last time and many had better training than Cookie had had. It ended up showing. He felt that, with some additional training he'd done with Lux, he might have better luck this time at least at scoring more points, if not winning. But only time would tell. All they could do was hope that their showing in the ring turned out well enough that someone would take notice.

Smells all around her, and she could investigate none of them.
They blended with one another, making it difficult at first to separate one from the others. Sometimes there was the smell of food, of musty hides and promising great fun before it was time to eat, or the softer, easier food that never so much as twitched as she wolfed it down. There were smells of things she had no idea of, some bringing to mind dust and scales, others the river or hay. The most painful to pick out were smells like that of her own, and it was for those that it became a struggle to stay by her master's side as they played with papers and made many noises with the flower-smelling stranger across from them.
But she would not go to find them any more than she would bark at the stranger, for she was a good dog. Her master confirmed it with the words and a scratch behind her ears as the last of the boring sheets of paper were handed over to the stranger. She was still wagging, head held high, as they left the table.

Right, another Salonne. She figured entering Heathen was good enough for now, and she smiled a little as she walked with him toward the Hall. After filling out the paperwork, they stepped into the ring, Heathen narrowing his eyes when he saw the two Matronne. Hmph, it didn't matter, he would win this and then he would be happy with life, he supposed at least. This was supposed to help with his breeding as well, not that he had any of that recently, which was a real shame when it was all said and done. Jack patted him on the head and he nuzzled into her for a moment before pulling back with a sneer. He had to remember who he was, and just because he liked her didn't mean he needed to be friendly. He sat at her side, nose up in the air as he figured what was going to happen for now. Had he been in one of these before? He couldn't remember.
