It was a good day for hunting. Clear skies, gentle winds, and Mu felt fine and fit as she flew over the canyons. Her mother had acknowledged her skills, and a few nights ago, at long last, she had been given permission to go hunting on her own. Since then, she had been making the most of her new freedom - and her new responsibilities. Let no one say that Mu was not a diligent hunter, unlike that layabout brother of hers. It didn't take long before she startled a herd of something long-legged and tasty, and with a cry of joy, Mu gave chase, dropping down from the sky to stun an unlucky prey beast in one fell swoop. Killing them once they were stunned was easy, especially since Mu was so large. Just a quick bite to the neck to snap the spine, and that was it. The pain probably only lasted for a moment.

He was. Weird. Stalking through the canyon at night, he wondered where his next bit was going to come from. Bit? Yes. He supposed that was it. The other was good, for awhile, but he needed more, and so he hunted for his own special meal. Lich's eyes dazzled at the sight of her, and he tilted his head as he rounded the corner, hiding a little behind a boulder as he glowed slightly in the daylight. It was weird, he knew, that he glowed, something thanks to the Shalaya in him. Nothing was going to happen right now with his glowing, however, but some others liked that about him. "Hello..." came a lilt out of his throat, something he wasn't sure he had the capacity to do until now, and it delighted him. Slinking from the shadow of the boulder, he tilted his head the other way, wondering what he was going to say next, to whatever she was going to say. Didn't matter, did it?

As she was admiring her own kill, Mu caught wind of something - a scent on the breeze, the slight rustling of movement. Thus she wasn't caught entirely by surprise when another Draconic appeared. But then, this was the Canyons; it was not uncommon to run into someone when you were out and about, even if you weren't specifically going out and looking for society.
Mu had never been particularly reticent by nature, and her mother had taught her something of manners, growing up. "Hullo," she said, inclining her head politely. She didn't have much of speech, but she knew a greeting, at least.
The other Draconic was certainly a looker. Smaller than she was, but most Draconics were; a nice sort of eggshell grey, with vivid wings, and a peculiar gleam that was quite pretty. Was he hunting too? Not from flight, but from ambush... Perhaps he enjoyed the thrill of stalking down his prey?

Stalking? Now there was a thought. Lich tilted his head one way and then the other before attempting a charming look. A small bow. It would all work out, he would win over after a little while and then everything would be perfect no? One more after it was all said and done. Just... keep going, he figured, he would find what he was looking for.
Ah, but there was the issue. He had no idea what he was looking for, just... a good time? No, that was too base, he didn't know what else to do though, except to play the game.
"Hello. Fine day?" A question, not a statement. Feel out what he was looking for before going in for the kill. Maybe not quite kill, but there he had it, he supposed.
Lich bowed slightly again with a small smile as he looked at the ground. She was quite pretty at least?

The other Draconic spoke slowly. Mu understood a lot more than she could speak, but some of the higher-brown Draconics within her clan still managed to speak too quickly, and with too many long words, for her to follow. She couldn't tell if he was of a similar linguistic capacity to her, or if he had sensed the gap and was being considerate, but either way, she was grateful for it.
"Fine day," she agreed. "Good flying." She flared her wings a little for emphasis, not so much that it could be construed as a threat... Well, probably. Her size sometimes made her more threatening than she intended, but he wasn't so much smaller that she felt the need to be concerned.
"You fly?" she asked conversationally. She hadn't met many Kitava. They had wings, and so they must, mustn't they? But the structure was quite different from her own wings.

Considerate? Not many would call him that, but that was alright, he would take it if it was spoken eventually. Smirking a little, he took another step toward her and then glanced back at his own wings when hers opened up. Fluttering them a little, he turned back to her and gave a slow nod, "Fly, yes..." Lich tilted his head and then beat his wings and took to the sky for a moment before he dropped back down to the ground and kneaded the ground a bit with his claws.
He wasn't sure what he was doing here, but that would be alright in the end of it, and he smirked again as his glow slowly brightened a little as he stalked forward toward her. He didn't want to scare her off, not that he thought he could, but that wasn't the point of it. Right now he just wanted to see what he could do, how far he could go. "Do you like to fly?" Lich finally asked with a little smile as he sat down in front of her.

Mu looked a little relieved as he affirmed that he could, in fact, fly. Maybe it was a little ignorant of her not to have known about Kitavas and their flight skills before this. And maybe it was a little patronizing to think so, but it really was a shame about all the flightless fellows. As far as she was concerned, flying was one of life's great joys. "Yes," she said. "Flying is best. Strong winds better." She had a sibling who would have begged to differ, but Mu was a strong flier, and liked a challenge.
The male was making himself right at home now. He hadn't made any overtures about the prey that Mu had brought down, but Mu had her manners. It would be the polite thing to do to at least offer him some. "You want?" she said, indicating a haunch - a nice big portion, and good eating.

He listened, wings twitching every now and then as he held himself back, but then she offered part of her kill, and he raised his brow a little, straightening up his back at the same time. She would offer things to him? Now that was interesting, and he wondered what he could offer in return, if anything at this point. It wasn't like he had much to offer, aside from himself...
A twitch came from his lips and he bowed his head low, though not low enough to where he couldn't keep an eye on her, "My thanks, dear lady. What may I offer in return?" As he came back up, he sniffed the kill deeply and he wondered what to do for himself, it would be impolite to simply tear into it, though maybe that was what was expected of him? No, he had his manners, he would wait to see what she said, and then all would be well.

Mu dipped her head in turn, pleased that he seemed pleased. It was always best when everyone was happy. "No trouble," she said by way of answer to his question, and meant it; there were other hunters, and if food was short at the cavern despite everything, she could always go hunting again. She was new enough to her duties that she still had some relish for them, and didn't mind a little extra work once in a while.
After all, it wasn't as though she were a merchant, and she had been the one to make the offer. Things might have been different if he had asked for a portion of the carcass outright, but it would be poor manners to offer something and then charge a price for it.
As he sniffed the kill, she motioned for him to have at it; and in truth she was a little curious as to how he would take his portion.

Lich inched forward and then sniffed deeply at the carcass for a moment and then smirked a little before he carved a chunk out of it and then pulled it toward him, nibbling a little at it so he wouldn't look a mess in front of the female. This was interesting, he wasn't sure what to expect for this, but at least he had something to do. The male chewed thoughtfully and then swallowed and bowed his head again, "A fine kill. What brings you here, aside from this?" He gestured toward the carcass and stared her down a little.
Their wings were both green, but her body was purple, hinting at possibly a Makiyan heritage? That was interesting, no wonder she didn't speak much, he figured with a little nod. Makiyan were smarter than Lashak, but sometimes it was the Lashak that brought their intelligence down a bit. She was different though, and not necessarily in a bad way.

Mu was glad to see him eat. He was neat and mannerly about it, which seemed to suit him; it would have been surprising if he had torn it open like a wild thing and tarnished his clean-looking scales. Maybe all Kitava were a fastidious sort. She had only had prior experience with one such individual in her own clan, and then only at a distance, generally; and that one was as fussy as anything.
She gave a shrug. "No, only hunting," she said. "Here many prey. Fun." Here she flared her wings out more fully, looking pleased. Most of it was a sense of accomplishment from having done her job well, though maybe her fellows would be less impressed that she had brought back a partially eaten carcass. Whatever her claims otherwise, they would have assumed that she had had a bite herself, away from prying eyes. "You here hunting too?"

Hunting hmm? That was an interesting way to put it. Lich settled the meat haunch down onto a nearby rock and licked at his claws a little as he thought about how to answer that. Things were... different back home, he only had one to his name along with the children, but there should be more, at least from what he thought at this point. Tilting his head, he smiled a little and nodded, "A bit. Though maybe not the same as you."
He stretched out, shining in the light as he groaned a little, his muscles pulling a bit as he tried to get a good feeling in his bones. All he could do was hope that things would work out for them, though he wasn't sure how to do it just yet. Spring a little charm on her and then things would turn out alright, or at least he hoped so. Cryptic was key here, or so he thought, and he tilted his head, "Is this the only thing you hunt?"

It wasn't that she didn't understand the words - she was not as without wit as her original Lashak ancestor, even if she was not well spoken - but she found she couldn't quite puzzle out his meaning. There was something she was missing here, though she didn't know exactly what it was.
Being that this was the case, however, Mu decided she wouldn't worry about it. Taking things at face value was not always the smartest decision, but she was young and confident in her own strength. And he seemed friendly, if a bit strange. "What then?" she said. "You like... small prey?" Some Draconics had a taste for things like rabbit, though Mu found them much too scanty to be satisfying.
As for the answer to his question, she gave a shrug of her wings. "Not picky," she said. "Anything good. Bigger is better." Not only did bigger prey yield more meat, but it was also more of a challenge.

"No," Lich chuckled a little, shaking his head, "Big is fine. There are more than two ways to hunt though, wouldn't you agree?" The Draconic smiled and licked the last of the blood from his claws before picking up the haunch again and taking one last bite. He then offered it to the lovely female, it was a good hunk of meat, he didn't want to seem too greedy, that was a good way of running her off, of not letting her do anything good for him. That was the point of this wasn't it?
With a small bow, the Draconic flicked his tail and then wandered a little closer to her and sniffed at her wing for a moment. Maybe this would prove useful to him, perhaps they should fly together for a bit and he could see her hunting technique? Yes, he would recommend that next, but he would wait for an answer to the last question first.
