Jack was a little nervous, it had been so long since she had done anything with people, Nina excluded she supposed. Still, she had bred with Sevyrn before, so it wasn't like it was going to be difficult to talk to her friend. What would they talk about though? That was the issue, she just hadn't done anything for so long it was hard for her to think of something, but they would get something going. Giving a little sigh, she looked down at the Orbaru in her arms and patted him on the back. She loved Carnival, and had bred him before with wonderful results. On the way to the Breeding Center, she heaved a sigh and watched as she saw her breath spill out of her mouth. It was cold out, but she needed it sometimes to clear her head a bit. This would be fine, and Carnival rubbed a paw over her arm as though to comfort her as he spilled out of her arms a little. Reaching the building, she smiled a little and pushed her way in through the door and shivered as she stood there, attempting to warm up.

How long had it been since the last time Sevyrn had seen Jack? Too long - and the last time had been a little bit awkward to start out with given the whole guess what we both got access to magic thing they'd had to deal with. They'd managed to work through it, and at this point the only thing that Sev felt bad about was neglecting to keep up with her friend over the last little while - she figured they were probably at the point where it was safe to call Jack a friend?
Whatever the past held, the day had come to walk those familiar paths down to the breeding center for a ritual as old as their relationship with each other. Sevyrn was accompanied by one of her favourite babies, a pretty little lady from one of her first breedings whose official name was "CMYK", but Sevyrn had a habit of simply calling her Cyan... despite the fact that she was overwhelmingly purple with just splashes of bright on her.
Sevyrn was the last to arrive, and walked through the doors just a couple minutes after Jack had - despite the awkwardness she felt inside having been vacant for so long, a smile lit up the young woman's face. "Hey!" She greeted, crouching down so that the adorable orbaru in her arms could hop down and check things out.

The counter looked absolutely the same, but she had done a breeding with the man she had helped to revive a little while ago, Houluh out of her own Kennel at this point, it was hard to find breeding partners right now, not like it had been easy before at least. Jack looked back when she heard the door open and close and smiled happily, waving at her friend. "Hey there!" she returned the greeting happily and waved the papers in the air that she had been filling out, "A bit rusty with this, but that happens when I haven't been here in months." The woman smiled a little broader and looked down at Carnival who was curled up at her feet. He had looked up as well to see what he could see, and he perked up a little when he saw another Orbaru, an SD at that? He liked those... and he thought he knew why they were here.
It was going to be interesting, this breeding, and Jack smiled again as she waited for her friend to come over to where they were at the moment. It was good to see people again, no matter how long it was going to be for.

Ugh... the little guy that Jack had brought with her was absolutely adorable - back when Sevyrn had simply been borrowing she had thought about asking for him one time, but that day had never come. Sevyrn was happier having company anyways, or at least company that she was familiar with. The last time she had been here was the last time that she brought Spot in, so she wasn't completely all with it when it came to the forms either, but they were easy enough right? Between the two of them, they surely had enough brain cells to rub together to figure it out.
"How've you been?" Sevyrn asked as she reached the counter, leaning against it with her arms crossed atop it. "I can help out," she offered as Cyan cocked her head towards the newcomer. This was her first visit here so she wasn't quite as aware of what the purpose was, but she already seemed to enjoy the male. The little lady bounced over towards Carnival and let out a little boop in greeting.

"Oh I've been..." Jack smiled and then sighed a little with a chuckle mixed in with it, shaking her head, "I guess I've been better, winter usually does it to me though I guess. What about you?" She glanced down at the two Orbaru, and Carnival who was slowly attempting to stand up, being the Sloth he was after all, and then booped back at the female, reaching out to tap her nose a bit, "Sure, you want to fill out her spots?" Tilting her head, she moved the papers and the pen over to the other woman after a moment.
Carnival finally managed to get to his paws and stretched out, much like a cat, his long ears trailing behind him as he slowly moved around. It was hard to get a Sloth going, but once they did, they... managed to find ways to stop again. Jack chuckled a little and nudged him lightly, wondering what was going on in that strange little mind of his.

"Ah... just about the same, I suppose. Something about the winter time just manages to pull some people down." Realistically, when hadn't Sevyrn been down since the summertime? She'd tried her damnedest to keep a smile on her face and she'd managed the odd brief moment but overall..? She was pretty damn miserable and she just didn't really say anything about it to anyone. She had no problem taking over the paperwork to fill out her part - and did so as quickly as she could.
Meanwhile Cyan continued to investigate the new face, curious about what he would be like. She had a lot of friends back home, but it was always nice to make a new one. He seemed to be rather lazy... but she could appreciate that. While she was much more bright and bouncy than Crnival, sometimes it was really nice to just snuggle up with another orbaru and he seemed like he would be perfect for that!

"The most miserable of seasons," Jack mentioned, leaning against the counter and giving a quick smile to the attendant. She watched as Sevyrn filled out the paperwork and then motioned to the chairs, "By the way, I've heard that it's easier for Orbaru and Pachee to breed, makes it a lot quicker or something. Some part of their genetics kicked in or something? I'm not sure the details of it, but they've assured me it actually works." She couldn't wait to do this, and wondered how long it was going to take for them to find a room for the two of them as well.
Stretching out again, Carnival flopped back down onto the floor, rolling onto his back a little so he could look up at the pretty little female. He pawed at her some more and booped happily before scooting a bit and forming into a semi-circle, as though inviting her to sit with him. Honestly, he could probably warm her up if she was cold?

"I heard that too! I haven't been around in so long that I haven't been able to test the theory but if they say it works..." Well, they would see - Sevyrn would be pleasantly rewarded if so. She... had quite the addiction to bringing home new life, as much as it probably made her a bit of a pet hoarder. One thing she could say for sure, though, was that every single creature in her care got the best possible from her. There was no room for slacking when lives depended on her, after all - for a while that had been all that got her out of bed and going outside.
The young woman let out a sigh as she plopped down in to a chair beside Jack, putting her arm up around the top of the empty chair beside her. She never did like the waiting game very much, but it was interesting watching the two orbaru start to bond. Carnival may have been offering her a spot to sit but the SD had other ideas and flopped her upper half right on top of him, chin and paws resting atop his body as she looked towards him with wide eyes. This was good enough, right?

"I've been holed up in the Kennel for a long time as well, I haven't really tested the waters either," she chuckled a little for the moment. Sure, she'd bred some Houluh since being out and about again, but that didn't amount to much she figured with a little sigh. Pushing her hair back, she leaned back in her chair and glanced over at her friend, taking in her appearance with a little smile. At least she looked like she was doing a little better, at least to her eyes. "Glad to see you again, you know," Jack finally offered with a nod.
Huh, well that wasn't what he intended, but that worked too. He was soft and squishy, so he made a nice pillow. Lowering one paw over her back as gently as he could, he patted her with his other forepaw and closed his eyes, listening for footsteps to say they were headed to a room.

"... Yeah, it really is." There was a moment's hesitation to Sevyrn's response, but it was genuine. It really was good to be out and about and seeing Jack, as much as the pair seemed to be struggling to come up with any actual conversation. It really was good to be seeing a familiar face after so much time spent flitting between her home and the kennel and not very many other places, not even seeing her best friend in quite some time now because Quinn had left to visit family several weeks back and now life was very, very lonely.
"You know-" she started to speak and her words were rushed, fumbling over themselves, and she had to stop and shake her head. "Maybe it would be good to hang out sometime. It seems like we both need a chance to get out of the house a bit more. Maybe. At some point. If you want." She shrugged it off in a pseudo-casual manner, trying to make herself seem less invested in the idea lest it come off as too much.
Yeah, Cyan was happy now - she stretched her head forward to boop the top of Carnival's with her nose and then settled back in to her comfy position, pleased with herself and the moment that she was in. Hopefully she wouldn't mind getting up... they were going to have to get moving soon. Out of the corner of her eye, the orbaru noticed another person approaching them.

Eyes sparkling for a little while, Jack smiled and nodded, "Yeah! I'm good with doing something outside of here, something calm would be good, something adventurous is fine, but really are either of us up for that yet?" A small chuckle escaped her and she looked at her friend with a happy expression on her face, "What would you be up for, anyway?" Glancing over at the two Orbaru, she noticed someone approaching and looked at her friend again, "It might be time?"
Opening one of his own eyes when he felt a shift in movement, the Sloth booped sadly and shrugged a little as he rolled over, probably unceremoniously spilling the SD over onto his other side, but he propped himself up onto his back paws and put his forepaws on the woman's knee. A small boop escaped him and he tilted his head, his huge ears flopping over as he did so. Jack chuckled and rubbed his head.

"I mean... I don't know. You could come to my place? It's a disaster but it's owned by my malii more than it's owned by me so Ramses is to blame for that... mostly." Ramses was definitely not to blame for the scattering of sketchbooks and paint and art supplies galore that currently cluttered up her living room... but he did cause a lot of mess, so it was okay to blame him, right? "You like gardens? My back yard is my pride and joy but... uh, also owned by the creatures more than me." Did she do anything else, really? Not really... Pretty much every excursion she ever went on was flamed by Quinn dragging her out of the house and along to whatever it was had sparked the other woman's whimsy that moment.
At that point Sevyrn stopped rambling as the attendant had approached them and it was time to let them talk - yup, it was time to head off! Cyan looked rather confused as she'd just been rolled rather abruptly over the top of the male and on to the other side of him, and her expression towards him was quizzical. Something was going on, though, and she didn't quite understand why Sevyrn was scooping her up and waiting patiently for Jack to walk along with them. Where were they going?

As she listened, she thought of what they could do as well. Maybe Sevyrn would like the mines? But she was trying for some crystals, so maybe that wasn't the best idea... Hmm, even just hanging out in the park or something would be nice? However, what her friend was saying sounded really nice as well! "We could do either of those things! They sound great to me, and not to worry, my Kennel and everything else is basically owned by my animals as well," she said with a laugh, picking up Carnival as she stood up and followed along after Sevyrn and her SD.
With a low boop, Carnival pawed for CYMK and then gave her a little smile, as best as he could give her at least. It was going to be worth it, why they were here, and he hoped she wouldn't be too freaked out when the babies, he hoped there would be more than one at least, showed up.

At least her tendency to ramble wasn't getting her in trouble - there had been many times in her life that it had. As far as Sevyrn could tell Jack genuinely did like the idea - why would they keep meeting up if one of them didn't like the other? - and, well, they could figure something out. Even just grabbing a coffee some time would mean doing something other than being antisocial. Quinn would be proud of her if she could be around to see this moment.
CMYK saw the male's gesture and returned it, reaching towards him as best as she could and letting out a happy little boop at the Sloth's dopey smile. She might not know what they were doing here yet, but she liked him so far and she would probably like having some babies around too.
"Well, I can do almost anything. Something relaxed would be nice, though," Sevyrn agreed as they walked down the hallway and eventually reached the room - as always Sevyrn went out of her way to make sure that she could hold the door for her buddy. Hell, they could bring a pup with them and have a houlou playdate sometime. Would they follow through? Only time could tell, Sevyrn would likely feel burnt out by the time that she got home from this, but the thought was there and she really wanted to follow through, even if it wasn't tomorrow or even any time soon.
