I wasn't late on the return of the outfit from the Halloween party. I know I wasn't; sun time for us woodlands is very important. If you don't want to be eaten, get inside by sunset. So the letter to 'the fox guy' that is wedged into the slats of my front kennel gate lands in my paws, its confusing. A request to buy some objects from the local loomery. What..is a loomery? I don't know. Checking on Dawson and Mira to give them their morning meals and such, with letter and credits in my satchel, I headed down to see Kevin. "Old fashioned." she muttered, reading down her beakish nose at the paper in her hand. "Its the clothing shop in the city." She gives me directions and I head there. Moonlit Loom. Interesting name. Opening up the door, it tinkles a bit. I've got my list... but what the heck is an ink rum? -buying-

Kristofor hadn’t originaly seen the shopkeeper when he entered the old fashioned little clothing store. A polite nod of greeting. “I need to buy these things.” He says, slowly. Common didn’t feel quite right, but he’d picked up enough to ask basics and somewhat. Offering up the list. The list wasn’t very long, but had a handful of items he’d never seen before in his life. “It is not for me, but for the...” what would that little place be called. “Someone in town.” Hot spring? Costume shop? Weird cat-bird eating cat things place? Not entirely sure on that. The sheen of something in the corner had briefly caught his eye. “I think I can find the items on my own, but what is an ink rum? And where can I find these things.” He wasn’t an invalid, and could do hiw own shopping once he knew where to find something.
"Oh an Inkrum is a little flying turtle type creature, their shells make wonderful combs and we have some over here," Tayara told him with a smile as she motioned for him to follow her over to another aisle. They were then right in front of them and she glanced over at his list, "Do you need any help finding anything else?"
Tempted to ask if the turtle itself tasted good or not, as he'd never seen or heard of a FLYING turtle. They were much too slow, and a bit hard to crack open without a rock or a hammer with a point on the smashing end. So the shells made good combs? Hm. "No, no more help. Thank you." he says politely, and goes down the aisle to examine the combs. There were a few colors, so he picked one of each. Most of what was asked for needed more then one color, so it took time to collect. The fox hadn't considered the idea of needing a basket, so he chose to take what he had up to the counter in small trips. The harnesses caught his eye... having something to give Mira and the kitten their freedom would be a smart idea, right? He already had one for Dawson... heck, why not. With all his items in tow, Kristofor went back up to the counter and separated everything out by what it was, grouping colors. "How much?"
The older woman nodded and went back to the counter, hovering over a customer wasn't good for business after all. She waited until he unloaded all of his items and quickly added up the total. As she bagged the items into a nice cloth bag, she told him the price, "That'll be 320 credits today."
The cloth bag had a nice texture to the eye, the fox noted as he watched the older human put the items into order. Three hundred and twenty credits. The last minute choices would be a bit more. Ok, that was doable. Carefully extracting his coin pouch from the satchel he wore, sightly covered by his longer fur, he counted out 3 iron coins for the hundreds, and 2 silver coins for the tens to put on the counter between them. "Three hundred twenty credits." The five coins caught the light of the little shop a bit. Iron doesn't typically shine, but the silver had a moonlit affect. "Thank you for the help. You have a nice store." the common still sounded false and foreign to him, but wasn't this the case of all different languages. Yips and barks weren't going to get across easily. "Thank you very much." Inside his head, the fox wondered how much growing room those new harnesses would have for the kitten. Mira was done growing. -end?
