Kadin had never really been the type of person to. Well. People. So when he saw that there was another quest up on the boards and this one was meant for him to bake with someone else, well. His first instinct was to skip it over and do some of the other ones first. He certainly had a lot of them to catch up on. But, as Rochelle would scold him for, he baked every damn day already. How hard would it be to agree to bake with a kind old lady who gave out cookies and sold all sorts of plant stuff? Stuff he used? So with a sigh, he grabbed the notice on the board and made his way towards Alura's shop, assuming that she'd be there and he could start there with arranging the when, wheres, whys, and hows of baking with her. At least Mori agreed to come with him.

Mori could win over basically anyone. Plus, she was a harachiu, and they came from flowers, so Kadin was sure that Alura probably already loved her. Anyway. They went to the shop and Alura looked up at the ring of the bell, smiling at them and greeting them as they entered. As predicted, she seemed pleased to see Mori, which pleased Kadin. Wins all around. Then Kadin showed her the flyer and explained how he was here to answer it and offer his help baking cookies. Alura was delighted at that, too, of course, and happily led them back to the back around where she had an impressively sized kitchen, considering the size of the place, and everything anyone could need for baking cookies. Kadin was ready to roll up his sleeves and get to it, but Alura laid a hand on his arm before he could move any further into the kitchen.

Confused, Kadin stopped to ask what the problem was. Alura gave him a kind smile and explained that he didn't need to help bake if he wasn't comfortable with it. In fact, it would be perfectly fine if he'd prefer to help with the shop instead! After all, she could still navigate the kitchen well enough, the only problem was that she was a bit slower. It was much easier to bake if she had someone around to take care of all the other small concerns! Kadin shook his head slightly, understanding what she was getting at, but he wasn't sure how comfortable he would be watching the shop. So he took the time to explain to her that he didn't mind helping to bake, actually, he had a café himself and baked all the time and would be happy to help. Alura seemed surprised to that and glanced over at Mori.

Seemingly she wanted some confirmation. Kadin watched as Mori smiled and somehow managed not to make fun of him while she added to his story, confirming that he did, in fact, have a café and that he did, in fact, know how to bake. In fact! He did all of the baking there because the co-owner was an enileaf! Alura still seemed surprised by this, but she at least consented to let him in the kitchen to help with the baking. Accepting that, Kadin turned to start looking at everything they had to make cookies with. Alura even shared her recipe book with him, letting him learn what it was they were making, what types, what shapes, and all of that. He figured that he could make himself the most useful by just finding all the ingredients and stirring them all together. Mori would most likely be the best at decorating.

Alura just needed to be there to add in the finer points of the cookies they were making and make sure they were doing everything right. That way, the baking could get done much faster than she'd be able to manage on her own. And that's the way they spent the day. Kadin assembled the ingredients, stirred the batter, and helped with odds and ends. Mori helped withe decorations and keeping track of the cookies as they baked in the oven. Alura supervised all of this, attending to her customers when necessary, and directing Kadin and Mori in whatever she needed them to do. By the end of the day, the three of them were functioning like a well oiled machine. Kadin almost didn't know what to do with himself at the end of the day when they'd finally made the last of the cookies. But, Alura sent them off with many thanks and cookies as a reward for a job well done.
