Sevyrn had come to learn that even failing contests in last place could come with rewards - and the results of October's contests had resulted in her coming own a couple interesting orbaru and a rather adorable male pachee that she had come to simply call "Corn". Names... had never been her strong suit, and that was likely obvious to anyone who had to interact with him. She'd been kicked with the breeding bug again lately, and as such she had thought it might be a good idea to see if he could pass his spotty markings and perhaps even those pretty heterochromic eyes on to a baby - now those were a feature she would love to see more of in her collection. As such, she'd put out an ad and posted it, hoping for someone to show interest in her pretty boy. Luckily someone had been, and now all that was left to do was wait for them to show up. It was cold outside, so Sevyrn sat in the lobby of the breeding center with the male curled up and resting on her lap. She had to admit, she was a little nervous - new people always seemed to have that effect on her.

Fiera had had decent luck with contests in the past, and her naming abilities... well, she thought she was great at it! Even though she had named the result of her last pachee breeding “Feathery Jerk”. But hey, he had feathers and he was a jerk, so it fit. That wasn’t the pachee she had with her today however- instead she had Marimo Belle, a female she had owned for quite some time now but had never gotten around to breeding. It wasn’t Marino’s fault of course- the little lady was quite affectionate. Fiera had just never found anyone she wanted to breed her with. When she saw that ad in the paper though, she knew it was the perfect opportunity to get some fresh blood into her stock of pachee, and had agreed to meet this “Sevryn” woman at the breeding center. Fiera herself was dressed quite strikingly in a cropped jacket and sharp sunglasses, even though it wasn’t very bright out. It was about looking the part, you see. Didn’t want anyone thinking she could just be bowled over, after all. As she entered the warm room, she lowered her glasses a bit, scanning the room for her breeding partner.

It was the pachee on her lap that noticed the doors to the breeding center open before Sevyrn herself did, stuck in a little mental whirlwind trying to figure out what kind of person she was about to come across... if they showed up. They'd show up, right?
Her little mental whirlwind was answered as soon as she'd noticed that Corn was looking towards the door, and she turned her head to see the person that entered. Tall, probably taller than she was, and sharp featured - putting off an air that she owned the room as soon as she had walked in to it. Yeah, that was probably exactly who she was waiting on, and Sevyrn pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose with a knuckle before gently placing Corn down on the ground and standing up.
"Fiera?" She asked, speaking clearly to try to hide the fact that she wasn't feeling too confident.

Fiera’s ears turned first to face the new sound before her head snapped round to follow suit. She snatched the glasses off of her face and looked down at the newcomer, her green eyes doing their best to drill through Sevryn’s head to pick her brain. “Sevryn, I presume?” She said, before her gaze finally floated down to the pachee next to her, the one described in the ad. Her cold facade seemed to break for just a moment, a wry smile flirting across her face at the sight of the cute creature before shriveling back up again just as soon. “It’s nice time see at least one man that looks like his picture, eh?” Fiera said with a sly wink. “You’ve dons your check in paperwork already, right?” Fiera said, strolling toward the receptionist’s desk with her carrier under her arm. Marimo peered back at them curiously.

The way Fiera snatched her glasses off her face to peer at Sevyrn came with a flair for the dramatic, something Sevyrn... probably would have expected if she hadn't been distracted when Fiera first came in the door. She felt like physically retreating with the way the other woman eyed her down at first, and she scratched at the back of her neck. "Yeah, that'ss me," she confirmed, torn between keeping an eye on Corn - who had definitely noticed the purple and green female that had accompanied the unknown person, and Fiera herself.
"Got it done while I waited, figured it would make things easier when you got here," she confirmed again, choosing to keep an eye on Corn as he trailed after Fiera, curious about the 'chee that she had in the carrier. If nothing less Sevyrn was already quite happy with the female - green and purple were two of her favourite colors, and that mane on her? Adorable. She was going to end up weak for any fluffy babies that came out of this pair.

“Excellent. Good of you to take initiative.” Fiera stated plainly as she finished out the forms she was given before swiftly handing them back to the receptionist. She scanned the room, her tail flicking with vague interest. It was pretty empty today- they would probably get a room assignment quickly. “Alright, that’s room 5 for... Corn and Marimo Belle.” The receptionist confirmed before gesturing to a set of double doors that led further into the building. “Lead the way.” Fiera said, gesturing toward them before eyeing corn. He seemed polite enough, but it wouldn’t hurt to get to know him a bit better for Marino’s sake. “So, your pachee... he’s friendly? Well behaved?” She said, eyeing him. She knew her own pachee was a perfect ten in terms of friendliness- having a mate with the same pattern of behavior would no doubt create the cuddliest babies Pethia had ever seen.

Sevyrn was happy to start down the hallway to her room, scooping Corn up in to her arms so that they could take a walk down to the room that they were being assigned. The pachee was tucked between Sevyrn's body and arm, her hand supporting his chest and her elbow his rear while his back legs and tail hung free - it didn't look too comfy, but Corn seemed to be perfectly content being held like that. Where were they going now, he had to wonder?
"He's lovely," Sevyrn assured, stepping to the side once they reached the room so that her new acquaintance could go in first. "He can be a bit of an egg sometimes, but he's super friendly with all the other 'chee, and he loves a good cuddle. What about her? Marino seems like she's a little angel." Hopefully her answer would have sufficed - but no one wanted a poorly behaved parent, it was asking for troublesome kits... especially if they came home with the troublesome parent.

Fiera nodded thoughtfully at the description of Corn. “Good, good. It sounds like they’ll be a perfect pairing.” At Sevryn’s question however, Fiera beamed, always happy to talk about herself, or about one of her pets (Aka her by extension.) “Well, what isn’t there to say about Marimo? She’s absolutely gorgeous of course, the daughter of a peacock pachee, but she has a lovely personality to boot!” She said. As they walked, Fiera got some berries out of her back pocket and shoved them through the bars. They were the special ones they needed for the breeding, of course. “Frankly, I’ve never met a friendlier pachee. Granted, she’s untested in breedings, but her parents behaved well, so I can’t imagine we’ll have a problem with her. When she reached the door of their breeding room however, Fiera looked at Sevryn expectantly, awkwardly holding her carrier.

Marimo seemed like she was going to be a good mate choice, as well - and regardless, Sevyrn was finding herself excited to see what these babies would turn out like even if she wasn't so sure she liked the air that came off of Fiera herself. Oh, well - it wasn't like anything was going to be a daily occurrance. With a bit of nervous hesitation, she didn't really like the way that Fiera looked at her so expectantly and felt like she'd been a bit dumb to have not grabbed the door, Sevyrn stepped in and pulled the door open. "After you," she offered, raising her hand to offer her acquaintance the first entrance. Corn, however, seemed quite curious about what was going on, and stretched his body out to get a closer look at everything - Fiera, Marimo and the room in front of them. The little guy had never been here before.

It looked like this breeding was going well. Sevryn was- well, Fiera couldn't really be sure about Sevryn. She seemed... meek. The kind of person that followed instead of leading. Worked out well for Fiera in this case, as she released Marimo onto the floor to play with Corn. Sure enough, they seemed to get along swimmingly, and the humanish was sure they'd be producing beautiful offspring in no time. Fiera was easily able to muscle Sevryn through this whole process, but frankly she preferred people who could assert themselves. People who were meek... well, they only followed the biggest fish in the pond for their own safety, and Fiera knew full well that wasn't always her. Still, this wasn't about that. As Marimo and Corn explored the room, the young female felt herself relaxing. This wasn't as scary as she thought it was! And with this new guy here, well... she was sure things were going to be ok.
