All things considered, it was only once that a fight didn't go so well for the faeron. And it wasn't even due to their adversary! Still, the small dragon was fairly brave in squaring up against the beasts of the pit - even if there wasn't much it did aside from serve as a distraction. Not everyone in a party needed to play the role of attacker, after all. Xentus rested a hand on the dragon's back, feeling her shudder. "It's ok, Quinn", he cooed, "This place is for ah.. Fun. Not fight." A quiet whine escaped the tiny beast, but it seemed to be assured enough. Xentus settled into his gym room and let Quinn explore a bit while he set up their first exercise - a tunnel maze. It was composed of fabric tubes used in agility trials. Just the thing to limber up a faeron, he figured. "Quinn!", he called, "Look here!"

The dragon perked up at the sound of her name, tendrils stiffening in anticipation. Then, her eyes widened at the sight - toy! Xentus wiggled a feather-on-a-stick in the air, tempting the faeron into chasing after it. Which, didn't take much tempting at all. The dragon leaped toward the feather, claws flailing in the air as her wings fluttered to keep up with her body. "That's it, come on!", the man goaded, "Get it!" The sight hardly could be considered 'training'. That was, until the leopard started leading the faeron to the tunneling tubes, wafting the tempting feather toy at the entry. Sequinn needed no convincing to leap into the tube with reckless abandon. A chuckle escaped the man. "Good, good!", he praised, then continued to wiggle the feather toy about the outside surface of the fabric. Tiny claws and teeth scratched and nipped at the offending feather, trying fearsomely to get it through the offending tube barrier.

Now came even more fun; tempting the faeron through the series of tunnels as quickly as he could. The tiny beast was already fairly nimble, so outpacing it would prove to be a challenge. Not only that, but he had to be sure that this form of play wouldn't grow to be boring. There was little he thought of that would convince the dragon to chase after the toy once it lost interest.. So he had to work quickly! The first exercise would be a warmup; a simple chase back and forth through a straight section of the tubes. "Go Quinn! Get it!", the man cheered as he flicked the feather around a little in a circle. The faeron was dead set on getting that feather, excited mews escaping the tiny beast. With her attention well-gathered, the leopard then ran down the length of the tunnel, trailing the toy alongside him.

Sequinn raced after her target with reckless abandon, scampering noisily within the fabric tunnel. Her pace was faster than the leopard anticipated, and as he reached the end, there was a crested head already poking out and nipping at the feathery toy. "Hah, you are quick Quinn!", the man commended aloud, "Other way now". Xentus raced back down the length of the tunnel; an invitation the faeron couldn't decline. She turned back into the artificial cavern and trailed after the man, quickly catching up to the shadow the feather toy left. Out the other side she came, mewing quietly in excitement. The thrill of the hunt! She felt it. And normally it was she who was the hunted. "Again, Quinn!", Xentus called, turned back the other way. But he wasn't getting away that easily! The sparkling faeron dipped back into the tunnel and gave chase, hardly considering the feather as her target at this point.

This was a thrilling exercise; fun enough that it hardly felt like proper training. And the leopard was getting more tired than the faeron.. That tiny dragon had seemingly boundless energy and was still looking to play this little game of theirs some more. It was getting time to step up the difficulty a notch. After one more bout through the tunnel, the leopard finally relented and let the beast catch her prize. "Good job, Quinn!", he praised tossing a pellet-treat to the dragon, "Now, wait just a moment while Xentus prepares the next part of the course". The treat would keep her occupied, as would tearing at the feathery toy, or so he hoped. The man moved quickly, setting up poles and rearranging the fabric tunnels into a more challenging shape. This was looking a bit more like an athletics course now. It lacked much more equipment, but it was enough for their private session.

There was probably a room somewhere in the gym for a proper agility course.. But Quinn wasn't quite ready for that just yet. Her following skills were non existent. Her chasing skills were on point, though. With some more work, getting the faeron to properly run through an obstacle course wouldn't be too far off. This was their start. "Alright, Quinn!", the man called to the tiny beast, clasping his hands, "Ready to start again?" The faeron's crest rose into the air as her attention snapped toward the man's voice. The feather toy dangled from her mouth, her tail twitched in anticipation. Good, good, she seemed ready to go. After taking a moment to pry the toy away, the leopard took up position at the mouth of a tunnel, then called for the little dragon. "Come come, Quinn!" With the toy in her sights, the sparkling beast darted toward her mark.

And barreled into the tunnel with reckless abandon. A chitter escaped the faeron's throat. It was darker in here this time, and it was arranged with far more curves than before. The feather toy left a faint shadow above, giving the creature something to follow at least. There was a slight air of uncertainty about the faeron's movements - not as fast and headstrong as before. "Go on, Quinn!", her keeper encouraged from beyond the fabric cavern. Her little feet scampered toward the shadow, following after it closely through the winding path. It took longer to escape the confines of the tunnel maze, and immediately at its exit, there was a new challenge. Strange poles. Despite her mark being in sight, the creature seemed skeptical about these strange sticks before her. A quick glance up over at the leopard was shot, seeking reassurance. A warm smile was returned. Whatever this was supposed to be, it didn't seem like there was treachery involved..

Sequinn seemed to put aside any qualms she had about the strange new obstacle beyond the tunnels and took to chasing after the feather toy again, following it back and forth between the sparsely placed poles. That wasn't so bad! And the leopard affirmed as much. "Very good, Quinn, just like that!", he chimed, kneeling down and offering the little dragon another treat, "Let's go in reverse now, yes?" He gave a moment for the nimble beast to scarf down her reward before guiding her through the poles again. There was a bit of trouble getting her to properly weave between them, as the dragon found it much easier to simply go back or avoid the poles altogether now that she grew more fixated on the toy.. With the poles posing no threat, there was no mind paid to them. At least, not until the leopard spoke up. "Quinn, no. Try again"

If the little dragon could frown and pout, she would. This playtime became more serious for some reason, making it less fun. Her eyes peered up to the leopard, trying to figure out what changed. His face seemed apologetic almost, and pleading. Like he was hoping the beast would figure something out. The faeron's eyes pointed back to the feather toy, which was waiting between the poles. To chase with recklessness.. Or caution? Xentus could almost see the gears turning in the dragon's head, trying to figure what to do, and what he wanted. A little flick of the feather toy encouraged the beast forward, and her body slicked between the poles with a bit more care. "Yes, just like that, Quinn", the leopard cooed, "Keep going!" With some indication that she'd done something right, the little beast quickened her pace, lunging after the toy as it skirted between the poles, beckoning for her to follow suit.

And so she did. There was more care in her movement, following more closely after the trail the feather left, rather than simply darting toward the feather itself. The leopard seemed to like that, and in turn, the faeron felt encouraged. Xentus guided the dragon through the poles, weaving between them and guiding the faeron back around through them again once she reached the end. "Yes, good job Quinn!", he chimed after a fairly successful run through the poles. A treat was given, alongside a pat on the head. A happy chirrup escaped the creature as she noisily chewed on the treat, soaking up all this well-earned affection. Now, time to fluently go through the poles and into the tunnel. The combination of challenges would likely be nothing exceedingly difficult for the faeron, but once she got used to them, they could focus on speeding things up. "Come on, Quinn!"

The faeron hardly needed convincing to take up the chase again. The treat provided a breather, and she was ready to go! The tiny beast scampered through the poles, weaving between them as the feather toy guided. There was a little bit of difficulty for her to keep up with the pace the leopard set, if only due to the creeping exhaustion that was setting in. Then came the tunnels. The feather toy left its shadow on the ceiling, giving the tiny beast something to vaguely follow after. The fabric tubes shook as the dragon barreled through the twists and turns, threatening to disjoint them. Mid-way through, sequinn's pace slowed as she lost sight of the feather at a fork. But that was hardly an issue, the creature pressed on, choosing a direction on her own - a goal the leopard hoped for! The toy was a guide, but if she could go without, then it was all the better. Soon, the tiny dragon popped out the exit end of the tunnels, plopping herself onto the floor in exhaustion. "Well done, Quinn!", the leopard praised, "This one is proud, yes" He contemplated goading the dragon into racing through the course one more time, but it seemed the boundless energy of the beast had come to an end for today.

After getting some training in with the faeron, the leopard set his sights to the next creature of his collection to strengthen up - Mashiik. Despite being a giant owl that was probably capable of standing up against a sarane, she was rather dainty. Not that big under all those feathers and not the most powerful beast. But with some work, Xentus felt she would make a great combatant. After checking in, the leopard led the golden alurook to the facility's field. There was plenty of space to fly out here, and there were even some target rings that he could set up for her to aim at. But first, he wanted to work on some ground agility. Alurook weren't exactly the quickest on their feet after all. It would probably be a bigger challenge than aerial stunts, all things considered. And so poles were set up for their first exercise.

In his mind, he had a four-part plan to the goal today. Grounded and unmounted, then mounted. After that, aerial and unmounted, then mounted. The added weight of a rider would be a good stressor in the exercises. The leopard clasped his hands together, garnering the owl's attention. She looked up from her preening and slowly blinked at the mammalian, seeming ready for whatever he was planning here.
(Alright, Mashi. Follow closely, Xentus will lead by example), he told the alurook in thought, beckoning her over. An affirmative notion passed from her into his mind, and with that, he led the way. (This one wants Mashiik to pass between these as quickly as possible), the man explained as he led with a light jog through the obstacle, (When she reaches the last one, turn back and weave through to meet Xentus again). The alurook seemed to ponder the purpose of this, but did not object outright.

Even with the mammalian's light jog, Mashiik had no issue keeping up with him. Her large size meant a long stride, so even if her legs weren't the best for running, she could easily keep pace with her keeper. The two went through the pole course and back, not even breaking a sweat. (Understand it, Mashi?), the leopard asked as he gave the bird a scratch on the beak. {Yes.. Seems simple}, the alurook responded, churring quietly under his touch. (Alright then, ready?), Xentus asked, backing away now, (Go!) Purposefully, he gave no sense of urgency for speed. They'd work up to a faster pace once the alurook got the gist of the exercise. And he needed to be certain she performed well. Adding too much stress at once could make this overwhelming, even if the course was a relatively simple one. Mashiik set off, head held high as she pranced back and forth between the poles.

Xentus smiled, finding her prideful nature to be quite endearing. This exercise might end up tempering that attitude just a little when he started pressing for more speed though. Or perhaps she'd just keep at it in her best form, who was he to wish otherwise? Mashiik wove between the poles and rounded back toward her keeper, not missing a beat or a gap. Her feet carried her at more of a walk than a run as she proceeded at her leisure. Upon making it back to the leopard, the bird fluffed up her feathers, ready for praise. "Well done, Mashiik", the leopard cheered with a gentle smile. Unfortunately, that would be all he had to offer for now. There was much work left to be done! (Alright, Mashi. Go again, and more quickly this time), he asked of her through their link, (This is only the beginning, so Xentus hopes you'll not wear out too quickly)
