As he often did, Kadin decided today to go to the quest area and see if anything caught his attention. There were plenty of quests posted, many backlogged for a while ago, and he felt it was a good way to get out into the community and actually get to know some of the people who lived here by taking care of their problems. Mori was with him again, too, and she was usually good company for these types of things. Today while he was looking at the board he did noticed some bigger jobs, but the one that really caught his eye was hidden behind all the others and, well. Small. Bugs. Kadin looked over to Mori and read out the quest to her, "Bugs are eating all the berries, please help! That basically sums it up. What do you think? You up to helping some guy get rid of his bug problem?"

Mori looked at the note that Kadin was reading from curiously. She still hadn't been taught to read, which she felt was a rather large oversight on Kadin's part. But he never thought to ask so she didn't bring it up. Instead she simply shrugged and nodded. "Sounds like something to do." She probably wouldn't be able to do too much to help, but she'd still be able to fly around and point out where all of the insects were for Kadin to keep track of. With her approval, Kadin grabbed the notice from the board and headed off to Turner's. It didn't take long to get there at all and once they were, he could see what the problem was. It wasn't just bugs. It looked like it was feral bug pets from the labs, hence the problems that he seemed to be happening, which sure answered a couple of questions.

After all, it was a bit hard to believe that just normal bugs would pose a problem to a shopkeeper with all sorts of supplies on hand. Just to make sure he wasn't misinterpreting the notice before he started to get rid of bugs, Kadin looked for Turner so he could ask for further instructions. Once he found him, reintroduced himself, and asked what the problem was, it turned out that his initial assumption had been correct. Apparently a bunch of pets regularly escaped from the labs and, sometimes, they'd harass shopkeepers like this just because they didn't know any better. Kadin nodded along while Turner explained and tried to think of ways he could help. He didn't really want to hurt any of the bugs. They were pets, after all. Maybe he could just get them with nexts and then bring them to the adoption agency. That seemed like the best course of action.

Mori seemed to agree with him, too. Kadin asked her to stay out of the way, though, because he didn't want to risk any of the bugs hurting her by accident. He geared himself up with gloves, rope, and plenty of netting. Then he went out to start rounding up the bugs. It'd be a trick to try and figure out how to tie them up without hurting them. Most of them didn't have the typical body plan you'd use on a reptile or a mammal so they couldn't just have a rope around their neck, for the most part. Plus that was a pretty vulnerable area for them and was prone to getting hurt. Kadin figured something out by tying rope around their exoskeletons and then typing the rope to a fence post so that they couldn't wander off too far. That way they couldn't hurt themselves, either. It was the best plan he could think of.

He kept working on rounding up insects throughout the day. Some of them tried to run away and he concentrated on those first so that they wouldn't run off to another part of the labs and harass someone else. Others seemed to just stare at him, as if daring him to try and catch them. So he did. They looked hilariously offended about that, considering they were insects. Mori eventually convinced him to let her ride on his shoulder while he ran around collecting all the bugs. She especially seemed amused when the bugs tried to run off with Kadin practically on top of them, holding on as if that would stop them from trying to scuttle away and look for more food. Eventually he rounded up all of the insects he could find, much to the thanks of the harried shopkeeper. All in a day's work. He'd have to try a different quest tomorrow.
