It had been. A long day. Night. Days? Whatever. It didn't matter. What did matter? Skram was hungry. They'd been wandering through this damned forest for ages and all they had to show for it was a bite on their ass and a deer that was stalking them. Well. It wasn't a deer. Something like a deer. It didn't matter, all they knew was that it was following them and didn't want them to know it just yet, so they kept pretending they didn't know it was there. It was easy. There were bigger things on their mind right now. For example? Finding some god damn food.
The forest was a bust. They found some nuts, but that wasn't enough to stop the gnawing feeling in their stomach. So when they finally stumbled upon something that looked like civilization at last they almost collapsed in relief. It was a bit weird how... clean everything was. But that didn't matter! What did matter was that were there was civilization there was trash which meant thrown out perfectly good food.
Skram scurried around, eyes wide, until they finally found what they'd been looking for. Yes. Good. A public trash can. Without a second thought, they scrambled up the side and dove straight in to see if they could find anything to eat.
What they hadn't expected was that, shortly after they dived headfirst into a trash can, one of the lab robots programmed to keep the city clean came by on its routine to collect and empty all of the public trash cans. What the robot hadn't expected to find was someone INSIDE one of the public trash cans. The poor robot whirred in distress, trying to remove the tiny 2-no-wait-I'm-3-feet-tall Sakaash from the trash can so it could go about doing its job.
It was.... not very successful.

It had been... an interesting trip to the Labs. He was so used to being among his own kind, it was hard to get used to all of these unfurred ones, he thought with a little frown, his large, sharp teeth poking out from his lip a little. Bors shrugged to himself as he ambled along, alone for once it would seem, as all of his animals were taking their customary nap for this time of day, they were all quite young still.
The Uthax gave a little sigh and frowned again when he noticed a strange shiny thing making odd, distressed noises, and he shuffled along to see what the issue was. These were new to him as well, and while he didn't quite trust robots, he knew the others in this place did, so he would treat it with respect. "What do?" he asked in his own language, poking at it. Nothing happened, just more distress, and he sighed and hunched over, peering inside the trashcan.
To whatever was in there, they might see a large, pink fleshed, white haired head slowly eclipse the light of the sun over the trash can opening as he peered into the can. Something was in there, and he looked back at the robot who had been... fighting it? A large hand entered the can and grabbed for whatever was in there. If something was distressing one of the metal beings, then he would help, it was his duty as a new citizen of the Labs to help, was it not?
As much as he missed the frozen tundra of his homeland, this was home now, he thought as he moved his hand around to catch it, almost sticking his tongue out in concentration. Whatever was in there was wiggly, but he was large and strong, and he figured he would be able to immobilize whatever animal was in there if he needed to.

The robot buzzed and whirled. Skram hissed and swiped at it with their claws whenever it got too close. Eventually, it knew better than to get close and just took to hovering nearby, making concerned robot noises, Skram didn't give a shit. They were too focused on shifting through the trash to try and find something they could eat. Hell. Even a muffin wrapper would be welcomed by this point. But they didn't get a chance to because the next thing they knew something was blocking out that light.
Now, see. This normally wasn't a problem. Skram could see in the dark, they actually preferred it to direct sunlight. But something blocking out the light meant that there was something else up there. Something... bigger than the robot.
Skram gulped.
And.
Looked.
Up.
All they could see was a HUGE hand coming towards them. With a distressed hiss they dodged out of the way, but the hand kept following them! The trash can was only so big and they were tiny but they weren't that tiny. The next thing they knew, the hand was grabbing them by the leg and they didn't think, the dug into the hand with their claws and bit down as hard as they could with a low (cute) growl.
That'd show them.

Bors swore lightly when something chomped down on his hand, but his fur bore the brunt of most of the attack, followed by a growl as he pulled the... thing... out of the can. He held it aloft and stared, foot up, head down as that was how he was holding it, and wondered what it was. It didn't look like much that he had ever seen before, nothing from teh Labs matched this thing, but maybe it was a new thing that had been released? He scratched the back of his head with his other massive hand and frowned a little before nodding, pleased with himself. It was eating trash, therefore it was a stray, therefore he would adopt it.
That settled, he turned it right side up and held it out in front of him, if only so his face would be out of biting range, and started off toward the Kennels, where he lived with his few animals. Hopefully no one would claim this little one, but if they did he would relinquish it of course, but something about it was endearing to him. Smiling happily, he released it with one hand, holding it with his other, and poked at it's belly a little to see what it would do.
What if it didn't get along with the others at the Kennel? Another frown as he looked it over, it was rather vicious seeming, but that was fine, he would master it someday. Poking again as he walked, he murmured to himself in Uthax, "What you?" A fair question, he hadn't seen anything like this before in his life, and he had been a breeder in the old country as well as here. Maybe a mutation of an Orbaru, perhaps?

Holy shit. This guy was huge.
"Put me down!" Skram hissed, clicked, and growled in Sakaash, too pissed off to consider that they should probably use common to address literally anything that wasn't a Sakaash. It wasn't exactly a universal language, even if they had taught their gangmates to speak it, but this dude sure as hell wasn't one of Skram's buddies.
And he sure as hell didn't understand them, either.
In reality, it probably just looked like Skram was spitting mad while the guy man-handled them instead of actually speaking in a language intelligent beings spoke. Skram even yelped when he flipped them around to right-side-up, grabbing on to its big meaty hands with their own claws in a desperate bid for purchase. "Listen, buddy, you really need to let me the FUCK down! Right now!"
Shit, was it smiling? Was Skram going to be EATEN today? They let out an indignant squawk when they were poked in the belly not once but twice. Annnnd now they were moving. Skram tried to gnaw at the monster's fingers to try and feel themselves, grumbling, "I swear to fuck that if I had my bow I'd shoot you in the eye then piss on your corpse, you overgrown hairy ballsack."
Hmm. Not exactly polite company.

He kept having to switch the creature from one hand to the other to keep it from biting him, and it hissed instead of booped, so maybe it wasn't an Orbaru after all? Giving a little frown, he shrugged, whatever it was (maybe a Sarane runt?), he needed to take care of it and this was the only way he could think of doing that right now. Bors didn't have too much trouble holding onto the little thing, it was pretty small, not quite three feet tall, while he had passed seven feet in his youth. It wasn't possible for this to be speech was it? No way, nothing he had heard here in the Labs sounded like this.
While he kept walking, he thought to himself what he would do with it and where he would put it. There was no way he could put it with the other Orbaru, and he didn't know if it was a male or a female either, so there was that. Giving a little frown, he lowered his head to look at it a little closer as he reached the Kennels and opened the door to his, he didn't know what to make of this, so he would figure it out as he went, he supposed.
Bors smiled happily and went to put it into a little holding kennel so he could give it a bath before figuring out what to do with it. After all, it had been in the trash.

After a certain amount of time, Skram gave up. They weren't getting away from this giant hairy monkey man and his giant hairy hands. Biting and clawing didn't seem to do much, either, which was frustrating beyond belief. Oh, they'd still nip at him whenever he tried anything funny, and when he went to stare at them they bared their teeth and hissed back. But that was about it, they could accept that they weren't going to get away that easily.
...Unless he was going to do something stupid like put them down.
They went into the holding kennel easily enough, but the moment he so much as started to turn away, Skram dashed through his legs, attempting to dodge around their capture and towards the exit. The exit. Where's the exit??? They'd gone through a- oh. No. They reached up and up to try and get the door handle and shove the damn door open, but they were too slow, damn it! He was going to catch up to them!

Oh, he hadn't thought of that! Bors frowned and shook his finger at the mutated Orbaru, "No run, Bors friend." His Uthax accent was thick and hard to understand sometimes, and it didn't help that he couldn't speak Common yet. There were a few people there who spoke Uthax, but not enough for him to get around too well. Reaching out, he went to pluck the thing up again, but held the hose in his other hand. Hmm, he might as well turn it on and see if he could get it clean that way.
Nodding, Bors turned on the hose and aimed it at the little mutant, still reaching out to gather it, all the while cooing as though he would a terrified animal. His family had been breeders for decades, and his talent was natural for it, so he knew he could calm beasts down rather well. Smiling, his long twin fangs protruding from his lower jaw, he calmly said, "No run, Bors friend. Bors take care. No run." The was the most he had said since coming to the Labs, which was strange sometimes, but considering no one understood him, maybe it wasn't so odd he didn't talk all that much after all.
This was definitely going to try his massive patience though, he had a feeling about it, but at least the water was... warm? To him? But freezing water seemed warm to him, so he wasn't entirely sure what it felt like. The others didn't mind it though.

Shit. They weren't fast enough to open the door before the beast man thing was too close again. Skram dodged out of the way of grabbing hands, using their natural speed to their advantage. After they'd side-stepped him a couple of times, they finally noticed the hose in his hand. Well. They mostly noticed the hose because he turned it on.
"Oh FUCK no!" Skram hissed out and redoubled their efforts not to be god damn caught! Was this torture? Was this guy trying to torture them? If he was they wished that he'd just broken their neck like a civilized person instead of chasing them around with a gods damned HOSE!
Skram yelped when some of the water hit them, the droplets that flowed away from them running entirely brown, likely making the yeti man want to wash them off even more since now they were tracking wet, muddy footprints everywhere. It was only now that Skram thought to try another language. Although their grasp of common was loose, at best, they figured that if this thing was smart enough to have property and running water then maybe, just maybe, he might speak the "common" language. "Shut that shit off, holy CRAP, what the HELL do you think you're doing??? First you kidnap me and now yer tryin' to spray me with a hose? What kinda sadist are you!!!"

The nasty water that flowed from the mutant was disgusting, and he rumbled a little as he tried to get most of the dirt off of it.
Only then did he realize it was... speaking?
The hose turned off and he stared at it for a moment or two, trying to comprehend what was happening. Hmm, he needed to rethink this, and so he rested his chin on a large hand as he stared. Finally he thumped his chest with a huge fist, "Bors." While he didn't know what the person (it was a person now?) was saying, he realized it was speaking Common, the most basic language of the Labs he was still trying to get an ear for. He didn't speak it, not yet, but that didn't mean he didn't recognize the language. He tilted his head and squatted down across the room from the being and stared, wondering what was going to happen now that he realized what was going on. Or at least he hoped he knew what was going on. Frowning again, he glanced for a split second down further into the Kennel to make sure the rest of the animals were safe. Perhaps he needed to rethink all of this.

Fuck's SAKE this guy did not let up! Skram felt like they were trying to learn a new goddamn dance with all the twirling and twisting around they were doing to try and get away from the fuckoff freezing water he was spraying at them. Every time they thought that maybe they should just stop moving and accept their fate, they got hit with another cold blast and- NOPE! Not worth it!!!
"Do you even have ears under all that fur??? Turn that shit off!! What the hell!!"
Oh, huh. He actually turned it off. Skram stopped, hands covered their head, peeking up at the big guy to see what the heck he was doing now. They were still pretty filty, muddied waters dripping off the rags they called clothes and scales alike, but now they were wet AND filthy. It'd probably take some good scrubbing with actual soap before you'd be able to see any red scales under all that brown.
And now the guy was, uh. Was that his name? Skram frowned. They didn't have TIME for this, holy SHIT. They were still HUNGRY and now they were WET. They didn't want to play language charades with some giant fluffy asshole who'd just KIDNAPPED them!!!
"Uh, yeah, great. Bors." Skram waved their claws in his general direction, sighed, and then gestured to themself. "Skram. Leave?" The last bit was said, hopefully, while pointing towards the door. PleasepleasePLEASE could they just go and starve to death in peace?

Ah, okay, that was the truth then. He was picking up a bit of Common, but that didn't mean he was entirely comfortable with speaking it too much, or... speaking in general. He grunted and held up a forefinger before looking around a bit. There was something he was looking for, and if this... 'Skram' person was digging in the trash, that might mean they were hungry, right? Bors felt in the little (to him) bag he had next to the kennels and then finally took out a large sandwich. Most of it was meat, but there was some cheese and of course the thick bread. Tearing it in half, he held out part of it to Skram with a smile, his large tusks sticking out from his lower jaw, pointing up to the ceiling. Most of the time he accidentally intimidated people with his smile, but it was his best feature, or at least he thought so.
His other hand stroked some of the beads in his beard, made of wood and bone, they clicked together musically every now and then. Carved with animals and flowers, they were native to his land, and he was proud of them, they each meant something, though he wouldn't explain them, most likely.
"Skram, food," Bors managed to mumble, gesturing to the person with his hand holding the sandwich again.

Fuck. That wasn't a good sign. Skram squinted suspiciously when the big guy told them to wait, unwilling to listen to him if he was going to keep them here any longer than they wanted to be. Their tune changed entirely, however, when he turned around with actual, real, right there in front of them, FOOD. Skram scrambled closer and jumped up to grab the half a sandwich out of his hands, stuffing the entire thing into their mouth at ONCE.
....They should NOT have been able to fit the whole half sandwich into their mouth at once. That sandwich had been HUGE and they were very, very small. But, somehow, they made it work and avoided choking out of sheer willpower. In less than a second, the half a sandwich was swallowed down and, somehow, they were still looking around for more, as if worried a single scrap of ham had fallen through their grasp while they were scarfing the rest of it down.
With a thoughtful frown on their face, Skram wiped their mouth with the back of their hand while they looked around for sandwich scraps. Then they looked up, squinting at their kidnapper for a long moment, as if weighting the pros and cons of asking for more. In the end, it seems they decided not to, because they pointed to the door again and said, "Skram leave."

A frown escaped him when the thing told him they wanted to leave. No, that wouldn't do, at least not yet. He was hospitable at least, though he preferred to be on his own, he had sort of kidnapped the thing thinking they were a mutated Orbaru. Bors grunted and held out the other half of the sandwich and motioned for Skram to take it, "Skram, food." The thick accent didn't help much, but at least he was learning a bit of Common, he had to give himself that much.
Bors looked around for a brief moment and then had an idea. He didn't know what this one needed or wanted, other than food by the way they had gulped down the huge half of a sandwich, but he reached and found a towel, tossing it at them after considering it for a few seconds. At least Skram could dry off with that, and then he looked around again. There were a few things, odds and ends really, for animals that he had acquired for free at the Labs, and maybe they would work on this one? He reached for a heating lamp (Skram looked like a lizard right?) and plugged it in, aiming it at the person across from him. He then found a big fluffy blanket he typically used and a large pillow he had used as well and put them in a dry spot, motioning for them.
"Skram leave... Skram stay, need sleep," he offered with a frown, wondering if he got his point through.

... Ok, well. If he INSISTED. Skram reached out and grabbed the sandwich with their face and greedy little claws at the same time. They crunched down on the sandwich and scrambling backwards from their kidnapper while trying to stuff it down their face hole as quickly as possible. In second, the second half of the sandwich was gone, leaving only a small Ssashirk picking ham out of its teeth and looking around to see if it dropped any food. With a huff, they didn't find anything yet again, so instead they refocused on the big guy so they could frown at him some more.
Skram nearly jumped out of their scaled when they saw that something was being thrown at them, but they reacted quickly and grabbed at the towel before it could hit them in the head. Now they were frowning down at the towel, then up at their kidnapper, then down at the towel yet again.
He was... weird. Yeah, this was all weird. Skram did not trust easily, especially not people who gave out free food and acted kind. Usually they had hidden motives, like kidnapping children to sell as a sex slave or to a bastard wizard who wanted to experiment on a virgin. Yeah. YEAH. They'd seen some shit. They did not trust this guy as much as they could throw him, and they wouldn't even be able to pick him up!
Skram backed away, still clutching the towel close to their chest. They tried to move both AWAY from the big guy AND towards the door. They shook their head and stubbornly pointed to the door yet again. "Skram leave!" There was no way in hell they'd feel safe in an enclosed space with a large creature who had complete control over their ability to enter and exit said space.
