Jack waved to Dawson when she saw him looking at her and then went back to talking to the fox. "There are five kinds, and you can do whatever you like with the training commands. Some people use verbal, some people use hand signals! I do a mixture of both. Anyway, the five kinds are agility, strength, working, loyalty, and witts. I feel they're pretty self explanatory, but I could try to do a little more in depth if you'd like? I only know what I've observed though of course," she chattered happily.
Red followed Dawson with a woof and a tail wag before the rope was dropped between them. Oh that was perfect! He barked happily and picked it up, tossing it into the air before grabbing one end and waving it at the Matronne. This was going to be great, he couldn't wait to see what they could do together!

'I would like to hear a more in depth explanation a bit, yes.' Fishing into the purple satchel stretched across his back that slid under his arm, Kristofor pulled out a brush and a pad of paper to start writing. The brushes were self-inking, as long as it was damp. Nibbling briefly on the brush, the fox set it to the paper and started to write down the five types of salonne. In his mind, agility usually was for speed, strength was duh, how strong you are, he'd never heard of a working contest, loyalty he supposed was the bond between himself and a creature, and then the wits was smarts. He read back his notes on that back to the female. 'Do I have the gist?' Yes! Let's play tug! Dawson pranced forward and snags the other side of the swinging rope that the red male has picked up. Don't give up too easily, he growled as he gives a few experimental tugs. 16/20

"Yeah you got it! The working Salonne is showing off what your Houluh's job is, from what I've gathered. Like my Luna, she's a companion, so we showed all of that stuff off. Or you could have a herder, fisher, things like that," Jack said as she watched him write things down. This was nice, sharing knowledge with other people, she couldn't do it too often since people seemed to be avoiding her for whatever reasons. Oh well, it didn't bother her too much. "Anyway, you just... show off! I mean I know it's not too much of an explanation, but hey, that's about it. Take your time, be thorough, and do what you need to do. Show everything off, you might surprise yourself," Jack added with a nod.
Red growled a laugh through the rope, obviously the Matronne didn't know him well as he yanked hard on the rope, pulling back at the same time.

Kristofor scribbled down what he was hearing, thankful there wasn't a common-based language barrier; some humans might hear him with just yips and barks but its the language of the forest. 'I noticed that Dawson has a very keen sense of smell, so I want to train him to be a scenthound. To do various things related to smell, like finding hidden objects or such. I haven't taken him anyplace interesting yet in the city, if you don't count the strange mansion house on the edge of the cityscape.' he says. 'I do want to make sure he's able to defend himself in case he gets into any trouble with the larger predators here in the city, but thats more for his own protection then a job.' The red hound is much stronger then Dawson initially believed, giving him a run for his figurative bone money quickly. Digging in his paws, he tries to donkey brake and not go backwards further as he pulls back and shakes his head a bit back and forth. 18/20

"Yeah I get that, most of my Houluh are trained at least one attack in order to help themselves if they need it. Scent hounding is definitely something that would work well for a Houluh, good luck to you!" she told him happily, realizing... she had never asked for his name. Chuckling a little, she shook her head and then extended her hand to shake, "By the way, I'm Jack, I don't know if I ever introduced myself." Maybe she had, maybe she hadn't, but it didn't hurt to do it again in case she had.
Red growled and whipped his head around a little before a mischievous glint appeared in his eyes. Whenever Dawson tugged hard, he opened his mouth and let go, barking a laugh as he watched to see if he bowled over himself or not. At least he was playful, it wasn't evil or anything, but he was definitely all dog.

He'd seen many predators in the mansion and in case Dawson or any of his few creatures needed to defend themselves, it should be a thing to do. Not even by being told to, but by instinct. Nodding, the fox scribbles down some more, before stowing the drying brush and his paper and taking the human hand in his paw. 'My name is Kristofor. Thank you for the information Jack. I shall make use of it.' he can hear the growling and tugging and turns to see the two houlou going at tug of war as if they were brothers. Whoa, no grip! Dawson didn't quite bowl over with the release of force on the other side, but it did send him sitting on his butt, the rope hanging from his mouth. I meant to do that, he sniffs as he spits out the rope, gets up to shake off, and nudge shoulders with the playful animal across from him before retrieving the rope. Again. Friends had to learn somehow. 20/20 -done?
