Renathan found himself lucky enough to get some more time off to be able to go out and do another quest or two, if there were enough of course. The month previously he'd been a bit lucky and been able to do two, but he had no idea what to expect for this month. He was allowing Auburn some time off so that she would hopefully do well in the contest he planned to have her in. It certainly wasn't one that she was well suited for, so she would need all the help she would get!
As such the russet mammalian decided to take Lisle along with him again. Perhaps he should have taken another of his beloved critters that needed more attention, but he really did enjoy spending time with the big oaf. The pair walk along amicably, enjoying the momentary warm and sunny break between the long and rainy days of the wetter-than-typical springtime this year.

"It sure has been rainy, don't you think Lisle?" Renathan says, smiling beneath the mask. It was nice to have a laid back 'conversation' with Lisle. The Balgor was slowly starting to pick up different cues from Renathan enough to understand bits and bobs as to what he was talking about. At the moment Lisle was mostly understanding the 'companionability' of the situation, so he simply rumbles a purr, and butts his head ever so gently into Renathan's shoulder. He had to bend down slightly to do so. "Sooner or later we're going to have to finish your mount training." The russet mammalian continued. The sun shone overhead, only covered by the bright fluffy clouds that were moving quite quickly overhead every so often. It was warm outside- almost hot, but with a nice breeze. Renathan could tell that it would rain again soon.
Lisle rumbles, and head bump's Renathan's shoulder again. Renathan pets him between his eyes.

Renathan did wish he could have gone out with Auburn- he missed her greatly. However, Lisle was a great friend too (perhaps even a greater one to a degree) and Renathan had been lonely lately. So it was nice to be able to go out to do something with a friend regardless of who it was at this point. Renathan wanted to grab a bite to eat from a street vendor before he went to the quest board- but for some reason he felt like it wasn't a good idea to take a detour at the moment. He sometimes had those weird feelings that made him make decisions he wouldn't otherwise normally decide to do under the circumstances.
They made it to the quest board fairly quickly after that, Renathan had doubled his pace after the awkward and anxious feeling that had befallen him. He did not know it yet, but the anxious felling that he'd gotten was a serendipitous thing for him to have felt.

Renathan walks around the corner with his giant balgor fresh on his heels. He'd jokingly pushed around on the creature's shoulders and then jokingly had his own feet stepped on. After a little bit, the pair were chasing each other around back and forth- and this time the rumbly balgor was chasing Renathan. Renathan was laughing, and just about tripped over his own tails on his gangly stride before he noticed that they were finally there- and there was someone there!
That was normally a pretty good sign- someone wanting to give out quests could be a pretty good thing. However, he was a little shocked to see who it was. The russet mammalian immediately stops and stands up, trying to look more polite and respectable. The balgor catches up, and knocks him over with a gentle bump from his giant head. Renathan turns a little summersault and lands ungracefully. "Lisle!" Renathan chastises, giving him a look as he rubs his slightly scraped elbow.

Renathan took a moment to hop back up, and by this point he could tell who it was that was standing there- and he was even more embarrassed than he had been earlier. What were the chances that Kapper, of all people, would be here whenever he was cavorting about like a lamb? He blushes a bit and it was thankfully hidden beneath his fur and mask. He shoots Lisle a glance that is responded to with an almost apologetic noise from Lisle's collar (he scarcely used the collar for it's intended purpose- he was a quiet fellow).
Then, Renathan turns and apologetically leans his head down to give the poor old guy some respect. "H-hey, you're uh, Kapper- right?" He wasn't usually much of a stutterer, but he had been taught from child age to be kind to his elders and give them the utmost respect. Too bad he looked like an idiot and sounded like one too.

Renathan felt foolish. He worked with clientele that came from the heights of society often- yet here he was acting stupid in front of yet another well respected member of society. Renathan was certainly new to the scene, and that certainly did not help him. Kapper, as always, seemed a little impatient. Renathan wasn't sure that he blamed him. Lisle stands respectfully behind Renathan- as if Renathan's reading of the situation flowed over his own mind like silk banners. He knew that he shouldn't approach the tiny humanoid.
Kapper certainly looked aggravated, and Renathan wasn't sure if he was going to give him a reprimanding or simply ignore him. It was possible that Kapper did quests, but somehow Renathan doubted that. The russet mammalian gives out a sigh of relief whenever Kapper seems to decide to speak with him- because he was completely unsure how his unceremonious entrance would be accepted by the distinguished individual.

It was not accepted well, persay, but it was not a complete heel-turner it seemed. Kapper seemed offput, but also seemed like he was looking for someone to give a quest to, rather than to take one down and do one himself. Renathan had thought before that it could have gone either way- but the way that Kapper looked to him just screamed 'I have a problem- and I'll hire anyone that can do it to fix it' to him. Renathan was getting pretty good at telling when people were out on a mission for something now that he was working in the field that he was working in. The 'You there!' and point certainly got Renathan's attention and startled him a bit. Wait- was Kapper not... Had Kapper not even been looking at him? It was possible that he had just been thinking, and hadn't even seen this terrible display.
Lisle rumbles from behind Renathan quietly, and then walks away to find a spot to pee in the grass nearby.

Renathan was a tall fellow, and Kapper was quite short. Of course, Renathan would never be so rude as to point that out- but it was still very intimidating despite Kapper's size to be pointed at with such conviction. Obviously whatever the elder individual was going to say, Renathan would listen to him with rapt attention. 'Have you seen my glasses?'
Now the russet mammalian was not expecting that! He must be pretty desperate to find his glasses, huh? People in pethia didn't usually have eye surgery to fix eye problems like in Renathan's homeland, so he guessed it made sense that people would be pretty desperate to see if they lost their glasses. The mammalian finally risks a glance at the top of the man's head- wait. Those were glasses, right? Kapper must have seen his eyes wander, because he immediately snaps him out of that- apparently it was not THOSE glasses.
So what glasses? Renathan glances out of the corner of his eye to make sure that Lisle hadn't strayed far.

Lisle was nearby at least, but of course Renathan wasn't going to split his attention between the two too much. Lisle could be trusted, though Renathan was reflexively used to taking care of his critters. Kapper, on the other hand, was notoriously impatient. It was pretty obvious that he noticed Renathan glance back too, he could tell. However, the elderly individual is suddenly pulling all sorts of little bobs and ends from his pockets. Renathan is intrigued to say the least? These didn't look super technological, but the craftsmanship was quite good at first glance. Renathan rubs the back of his neck and nods. "I think Lisle and I can do that. Or at least try!" They were really tiny though, would they even be able to find one of them? "Can you let me know where all you've been today- so I know where to look?" Renathan asks, politely.

It was certainly a weird question in most contexts, so Renathan immediately begins ruling things out. "Of course, you don't have to tell me about your house- or any place you've already looked of course, just let me know where to start." He nods. After receiving whatever information he was able to glean from the individual, Renathan formally accepts the quest and then turns-tail to rein in Lisle from where he was rolling about in the grass right around the corner. Thankfully, the flames that typically wreathed his neck when he was feeling protective was not, for lack of a better term 'on' at that time- or perhaps Renathan would be in a lot more trouble than he'd like to be!
"Come on, Lisle. We've got some... Glasses? To find." He said. Lisle gets up and shakes the freshly mowed grass loose from his mane. Renathan couldn't really fault him for enjoying the sunshine.

Lisle follows Renathan on surprisingly quiet paws. The russet mammalian was always very stunned about his big paws and how quiet they were- really, balgor seemed much more doggy than cat-like. The pair were heading to the first indicated area (or rather, the closest one since they worked backwards from Kapper's current position). Renathan realizes his mistake of not asking exactly what he had done at those places as soon as he makes it to the first place (arguably the one where Kapper realized that he had indeed lost his 'glasses')- and this was some sort of interesting... Eatery. Renathan wasn't sure what to make of it from outside- but thankfully it had an outdoor seating around the back. First, he has Lisle stay in place a little ways away near a pole-stall for mounts, and he went ahead to speak to the proprieter to explain why he was there. He didn't want to frighten or frustrate anyone!

The proprietor seems quite fine with it, though Renathan is quite surprised when he steps into the building to speak with him privately and he realizes that it was a traditional tea-shop. From what culture, he had no idea, but it was beautiful! He'd have to come here to experience it in the future. Renathan crosses his hand over his chest in respect and then steps back out from the dimly-lit cozy room and into the stark spring daylight in the street. He blinks, it is almost too much on his certainly not-light-adapted pink eyes, but the pupils quickly constrict and help him to see a little better. After his eyes adjust (it had been a while since he had felt that problem so quickly!) he calls to Lisle and leads him around to the back. "If you see anything shiny- let me know." He says to Lisle. He doubted the big fella would find anything, but it was good to make him feel useful.

True to form though, Lisle does make some kind of effort to 'look' for something- though with no results. Renathan looks high and low. He probably should have asked the proprietor if he knew where Kapper had been sitting! He looks high, up on shelves and on top of the umbrellas above the tables- and looks lower, beneath the seats and tables. He's practically doing everything but scratching his head at this point. Was one of the glasses or perhaps even two even here? He's about to give up when the proprietor steps out of the side door of the establishment and asks Renathan a very good question- 'Who are you looking for items for, anyway? I might be able to assist.' I was obvious that the proprietor was a caring individual that wanted customers to be happy. Perhaps he even had a bunch of regulars as opposed to random passers-by more often than not?

Renathan explains Kapper in the most polite way he can, which admittedly is a little difficult because Renathan knew how people like himself and Kapper were sometimes perceived among the populace. Renathan was tall, and lanky, and muscular- and toothy so it wasn't uncommon for people to pass him by as carefully as they would someone's random snarly cave vulticus on the street. It really wasn't fair- and it was sometimes so innocuous that people didn't even notice that they felt like that or that it was messed up.
Luckily, the proprietor (though human passing at least) did not seem to have this issue. With a polite and reserved smile, the very patient individual nodded and took Renathan back into the building. Renathan had Lisle stay where he was (he knew that he wouldn't mess anything up outside) and was taken to a small table on the ground that was absolutely spotless while having a certain refined yet natural charm to it.

Renathan looks beneath the covered table, and finds something shiny beneath it. He reaches out and gently takes it in his leathery palm, turning it over in the light. Indeed, this was one of the missing glasses- and it was deceivingly simply designed. The mammalian can tell that the craftsmanship of the small piece of glassware was absolutely exquisite. He thanks the proprietor, and then quickly leaves. Someone was coming in and preparing to be seated and he was a little bit in the way. He ducks out of the building and into the too-bright daylight again. He rejoins Lisle and goes out to the sidewalk, placing the glassware gently in a pouch. "Well, that's one down and four more to go." He says to the large, rumbling balgor. They make their way to the next area- apparently a bridge over a small brooklet a few blocks away from this. The russet mammalian keeps his eyes out for anything shiny in the daylight along the way.
