-Thread closed due to lack of interest, note made so I don't necro it later-
Boss fights look cool so far, and I really like the idea that we might see a few unknown bosses popping up in the future, whether as chained pit beasts or as actual threats to the city. I'm looking to team up with some folks for specific builds to fight a boss monster with. It might take a month or two for a full team to be built and trained, but I don't mind so long as we eventually get to those sweet boss battles.
The following species were chosen primarily for their natural 'pack instincts', also the fact that they are all decently statted should we make a full team, and that they are all fairly easy and free to adopt. As an extra bonus, all have breeds that can be used as mounts, are low enough power level-wise to gain a higher reward, and would likely work together beautifully against any secret bosses that might stalk the city. And, if the Keeps of Glory return at some point, you'd have something ready to join with if they start hunting bosses.
-Gallor: A pride of griffins versus a mighty dragon. Gallor have the benefit of amazing stats, the two breeds in the Adopt page having hardy built in to them to lessen training costs. They also are varied enough that players can pick one of the free breeds up from the APAA if they want a certain look to fit in with their aesthetic.
-Chiryma v2: Swift raptors versus a steadfast triceratops. With pack instincts, their dexterity will be insanely high, and they can look into shredding/mauling their opponents to slow them down and bleed them. Considering the insane stamina a beast like the thundergug has, they'll need every advantage they can get. While their free variants are not as different in appearance as the gallor, there are still plenty to choose from.
-Neptica: A pod of dolphins versus a grand sea monster. Or, as their encyclopedia entry describes it, "a flock of sparrows vs. a hawk." Pliathor are great enemies of the neptica in the wild, the pods doing their absolute best to drive off the giant seaserpents. With training, could they not do even more? To be fair, there won't be as much variation in the neptica that can be used, as the spotted and striped would be little more than a snack with a boss pliathor's ability to counter attack(unless the old neptica stats are made and give them some help), but it would be an amazing battle.
Personally, I like all of the above options. The gallor one reminds me of the old lore talking about gallor soldiers and require slightly less training if they have hardy, the chiryma v2 are awesome raptors, and the neptica, while arguably the most difficult to train and win with, promises to be one heck of a fight. In all cases, offspring/customs/VSC could be used, I was just picking species that do not require anyone to spend money. We can also fight other bosses other than the ones listed with them, those are just the best sounding match-ups to me.
There are other team builds available, of course. Do you want a swarm of tiny fairy dragons that giggle with every spine-shattering strike a maddened golossle makes against them, their candy-colored hides somehow unharmed as they slowly batter him to unconsciousness? Maybe a team of lasiobel to hit hard and tilvander support to support them while a lone amphadron works spells? Or something more generally defined, like a horde of plant critters or ones only found in volcanos? I'm interested in hearing your team ideas, especially so if you are looking for others to join in. XD
