So, another pachee breeding. Fiera’s first one in the spring time too! ...If she was remembering correctly, that was. Regardless, it felt like it had been ages since she had been to the breeding center, and the weather was so nice that she felt particularly invigorated to have some fun. Her pachee felt invigorated too. It had just rained and the humidity and fair weather woke them right up, giving the perfect conditions for them to feel happy and active. As of right now they were both wide awake and practically bouncing around the inside of their carriers as Fiera walked down the sidewalk. If Fiera was lucky, that happy energy would translate into a quick breeding and healthy, pretty offspring. Fiera could practically see them now. She had all of the possible breeding berries too, and was sure that those would contribute to a perfect breeding as well. And finally, she looked the part in a floral springy blouse with ruffled sleeves and a light skirt with ruffles around the edge. Heeled leather boots went up to her knees as she strutted down the sidewalk, and large hoop earrings hung from her feline ears. She looked perfectly like an avatar of spring.

She felt like it too- bright and confident. She had been thinking about this breeding for ages, but had only today gotten up the confidence to actually go through with it. The pairing was perfect as far as she was concerned- two glowing pachee would no doubt make beautiful colorful babies! The first of this pairing was Song From The Sky, or Song for short. He was the male in this breeding and was a little snobby, but nothing that Fiera couldn’t handle. After all, he kind of deserved the confidence due to his beautiful appearance. He was one of Fiera’s few custom pachee and was absolutely gorgeous, angelic in appearance. He glowed with a softly pulsing golden hue and had gently fluttering leafy wings that rose and fell with his breath. His body was a slow gradient from red to bright orange. But by far, his most striking feature was the dozens of sky blue false eyes scattered across his form and lined with gold, making it look like he was watching you from any angle. Some found it a little creepy, but Fiera thought her pachee was absolutely stunning. And yet she had only bred him just once before!

That breeding had gone perfectly however, producing two of her most favorite pachee, including one of her most popular females. But their father hadn’t gotten another try until now. He bred easily enough, but Fiera hadn’t been inspired enough to use him in anything else until now. And the female she had chosen for him, hm. Radium Lover was born to some of Jack’s pachee in the hopes of producing another pachee with flippers, but the mutation hadn’t taken. Still, the female glowed a rare green and had attractive (if dangerous looking) spatters of green across a dark body. Even if she didn’t bear the aquatic mutations she had been intended to have, she had stumbled upon another aesthetic on accident. Fiera wasn’t expecting their offspring to come out looking nearly as holy as Song, but she was sure that they would end up very pretty regardless. After all, when had Fiera ever had a breeding fail? Never! She cranked her chin a few degrees higher in the air as she puffed out her own chest and ego a bit more. Anyone looking at her would have thought she had won the lottery with an attitude like that.

Although... Radium’s personality might be an issue. She was... weird, for lack of a better word. Most of the time she was slow and sluggish, almost confused, interspersed with wild bursts of energy. Most of the other female pachee Fiera kept her with didn’t seem to know what to do with her and seemed to avoid her out of principle, confused by her reactions. Fiera hoped that Song would still find her “attractive” enough to offer up some pollen. If not, well... Fiera would likely have to get “creative”. She didn’t have to worry about that until later though. She was only just now arriving at the breeding center, after all. It had changed a little bit since last winter. It looked like they had gotten some work done on the roof and repainted the place. Even though it was still bright and friendly looking, it still had a sense of fresh newness that Fiera could appreciate. After all, she too always bought a new outfit when she was feeling down... even if it made her wallet feel down instead. Other than that though, there wasn’t too much different- the center didn’t have any new ongoing sales, so the posters in the windows were the same.

She was almost saddened to leave the nice weather outside and enter the air conditioned building, the cold puffs of air making the humanish shiver briefly as she walked in out of the humidity. Her pachee settled down soon too as well, but she was admittedly glad for that. It was hard to keep them steady and not drop the carriers when they were constantly pacing up the sides. Fiera approached the front desk without anyone getting in her way. She supposed the rain earlier in the day had put most people off of doing a breeding today, so Fiera was pretty much alone in the front lobby. If she had come here even without an appointment, she could probably walk right in. Still, she did make an appointment and thus decided to check in. “Hello!” She said sweetly. “I’m here with Song of the Sky and Radium Lover.” She said, leaning over the desk. The receptionist stared at her blankly for a moment. “...Should be under Fiera Ferella?” Fiera said, and the receptionist nodded, checking through the appointment book. “Oh, here you are.” She said, before writing up a receipt for Fiera and handing it over to the humanish.

“Your room is number one, on the left.” The receptionist said, pointing at the double doors that Fiera knew by heart by this point. She was pleasantly surprised. Normally she had to wait at least a little while here in the lobby first. She’d sit, read a magazine, let her pachee get used to all the odd smells that were around them before getting called back. Not this time though, she could walk right in! “Thank you SO much, darling.” Fiera said smoothly before picking up her carriers in a way that was practiced but... never smooth. They were always weirdly balanced depending on how the pachee were feeling. Still, soon they were up and moving again and Fiera gently nudged open the doors to the breeding rooms with her shoulder, ready to see what they had in store. The hallways were slightly refurbished too now that she was looking around. They had changed out the tiles from a muted beige affair to soft reds, blues, and yellows in a checkerboard pattern. She raised her eyebrows slightly, a bit amused. It was nice to see them taking some pride in appearance in their back rooms, even if no one spent long in this hall.

After all, with her room being the firs one on the left, Fiera barely ever spent more than twenty seconds tops in here and even less right now. Still, it was a pleasant change. The humanish set the carriers down long enough to get the door open, nudging the carriers into the room with one foot. The pachee inside them rattled around curiously at the sight of the room, and Fiera could see why. It was practically a paradise for pachee. With the exception of the concrete landing and the chair set up next to the door for the owner of the pairing to sit in, the floor was covered in soft nutritious soil. Rocks and fake plants were strewn about for the plant pets to play on and in, and the lights were set to a warm, natural tone. The whole place smelled of greenery- perfect to encourage pachee to breed. To start them off, Fiera walked to a nearby stone and set the breeding berries on it. Perfect. Then she went to Radium’s carrier and gently pried the female out of it, lifting her out into the open. She set her down next to the rock and the berries.

To her surprise though, Radium didn’t try to devour them right off the bat. Usually pachee ladies couldn’t get enough of these things, but instead Radium just... stared off into space from where Fiera set her down. Fiera tried to get her attention. “Radium! Look over here!” She said, patting the rock. That finally seemed to snap her out of her stupor, looking at Fiera and then at the berries set before her. Fiera sighed with relief as the female finally walked over and began mashing them up with her paws, absorbing the fertilizing juices through the roots on her feet. Perfect. When Radium was done, she settled back into her vacant gaze again. Fiera sighed, and just hoped it wouldn’t mess up the breeding too much. Without further ado, she stood back up and walked over to Song’s cage, ready to let him out as well. He was cantankerous from the long trip though, and refused to budge when Fiera opened the cage door. “Oh, come on...” She grumbled, reaching in to grab at him. Not wanting to be touched, the prissy male burst from the carrier, giving Fiera a face-full of leafy feathers before he escaped into the clearing.

“Well, at least you’re out.” Fiera grumbled, rubbing her face before closing the carrier. She set both down next to the chair by the door and sat down, ready to wait this out for... an hour. Which was how long she had reserved the room for, so they had better hurry up. It didn’t take long for Song to notice the female however, sidling up next to her slowly. “That’s it, come on!” Fiera called out, earning her a dirty look from her pet. “What, am I ruining the mood? Fine, have it your way.” She grumbled, leaning back in her seat again while pouting. Song glared at her for a moment longer before turning back to Radium, strutting proudly. The male puffed out his chest and raised his tail while holding his wings stiff. It was all as if to say “Look at me! How large and beautiful and not at all freakish my wings are! How vibrant and healthy my colors are! How long and laden with pollen my tail is! I am indeed, a beautiful specimen!” Needless to say, Fiera cringed when Radium did nothing but stare at him blankly, not impressed by his little show at all.

Or perhaps she just wasn’t paying attention, looking at Song the way you’d turn a radio on low to have as background noise while you worked on a different task. With Radium just sitting there though, Fiera couldn’t imagine what that task would be. And yet... Song didn’t seem to notice at all. Perhaps to him, she was staring with rapt attention, awed into inaction by his fanciful display. In fact, it only seemed to encourage him as he leapt around in increasingly acrobatic moves before finally doing a flip and landing in front of her solidly. He slapped his tail on the ground a few times and pollen flew into the air, flooding the room with it. Fiera politely pulled her shirt up over her nose to avoid breathing it in, or else she’d be sneezing for hours. Radium, as usual, hardly seemed to notice, the pollen landing on her forehead without even the barest attempt to swat it away. Fiera considered that a win though. With that done, she’d soon have a litter of adorable baby pachee- though she hoped that they’d consist of the best traits of these two’s personalities, not the worst.
