Please note...- The last date to post your introduction post is 72 hours from this post. Without an introduction post you cannot battle. - Certain moves can't be used in the Pit because of the surroundings and other moves can affect more than one creature at the same time. After all introduction posts have been posted you will be informed whether those two apply to any of your creatures' moves. - That you have 72 hours to post a response to a calculation post and/or roleplay post. The 72 hour deadline is not extended if your foe posts after a calculation post. Not meeting the deadline results in an automatic disqualification. - That characters level once every 20 posts in the Fighting Pit, but pets gain levels and loyalty towards their owners normally.

Another day, another round in the tournament. Lucio had been doing pretty well, which was a pleasant surprise for Kadin, all things considered. He hadn't had particularly high hopes when entering the tier one into a tournament that seemed to be notorious for people entering tier threes that were excellently trained, opening up the feel for all sorts of difficult fights to face. Instead, the reality seemed to be mostly browns and not particularly well trained drakes of different flavors, making him wonder if the usual trainers were too occupied with gauntlet fights instead, or if there'd been over hype about these tournaments to begin with. Not that it mattered. As long as Lucio kept winning fights, he supposed he was happy. For now Kadin got the drake settled in the pit and got himself settled to wait for the opponent. Chances were, it'd just be another brown, but he held out hope for something new.

For once, Noa wasn't the first one in the Pit when he came in with his creature of choice - in this case, Dustdevil. Though, then again, Noa had been a bit lax about punctuality lately, owing to a lack of enthusiasm over the whole affair. The brown drake's fights were never particularly interesting, even if he was winning them... but at least his opponents usually showed up. That couldn't be said for Avander's, at least not anymore.
It was a red this time, and with enough sense in those eyes that Noa suspected they were actually in some trouble. And the glint of a necklace around the drake's neck... He felt a smile pulling at the corners of his mouth. Interesting.
Well, they might get lucky still. Dustdevil certainly seemed to think so, snarling at the other drake with more energy now that he had some wins under his belt.

Seeing as this Sarane was actually trained, Noa figured they might as well start using the strategies he was more used to. Dustdevil was snapping and hissing at the other drake, as though he wanted to lash out again - and feel the sensation of his claws ripping into the other drake, like he had felt on so many other occasions, Noa was sure. Unfortunately for him, it wasn't going to be that easy this time.
"Roar," Noa commanded, and in such a tone that even Dustdevil in his drake-induced rage was brought up short. He didn't like it, that much was clear; he wanted blood and he wanted it now. But he was broken, even if he had gone a long time without, and now he bent reluctantly to Noa's will, filling his lungs with air in preparation, ready to release a resonant roar that would, with any luck, startle the opponent.

Well, they were up against a trained drake for once. Kadin could see that right away, he supposed, in how the drake didn't immediately fly into a rage and try to attack his sarane the moment he was in the arena. That was something of a relief, but also something of a worry, since a trained sarane also meant that there might be some actual strategy involved in the fight. Which- yet. It looked like the brown was going to get the drop on Lucio, actually using an attack that would make Lucio unable to do anything this round rather than just attacking him straight on. Kadin looked down at his drake with a frown, watching as Lucio shook his head and hissed, but was thrown off his balance, unable to pull it together enough to actually listen to any attack Kadin might try to give. Kadin had tried to tell him to roar, too, but it seemed like that wouldn't be in the cards this round.
[Roar? Skip?]

Welp, that had certainly happened. Kadin sat through a round where Lucio was unable to get his bearings and didn't end up doing anything. Somehow, he seemed to finally shake off whatever had been bothering him enough to look ready for more fighting. Kadin called out to him to roar, too, so that he could also throw his opponent off. They needed to be able to get that brown on the wrong foot in order to land a proper hit, he figured, so he needed him to be able to get that attack in quickly so that they could hopefully finish this in another round. If luck was on their side, they'd probably win. But this might be the first fight in the tournament where Kadin felt like there was a chance to lose. Still, as long as Lucio was able to get his attack in, they would probably be alright. As long as nothing, uh. Bad happened.

Unfortunately for Dustdevil, it seemed that his luck was not to last. As soon as the other drake came out of his shock at the sound of Dustdevil's roar, it roared right back at them. Noa, watching from the stands and anticipating all this, prepared himself and clapped his hands over his ears just in time. From his place on Noa's shoulder, Rhys also winced, not quite able to do the same for himself.
But the one who took the worst of it undoubtedly was the drake himself, down on the sands and right next to his opponent. Dustdevil was, for a moment, stunned by the noise - too much so to move, a state that Noa was unfortunately all too familiar with. There was no sense in trying to give him any orders until he had shaken it off, unfortunately; and until then all they could do was to wait it out.

Alright, this was it. They'd both roared at each other and apparently proved how tough they both were. Now it was time for Lucio to try and properly attack. There was still a chance that Lucio might miss and this wouldn't work out, but there was also the chance that he'd score a hit and end this whole battle right here. Kadin wasn't sure which one he'd hoped for more. All told, him and his opponent seemed pretty well-matched. This next round or so was what was going to really decide it for them. Kadin called down for Lucio to attack with his fire, just to be on the safe side. He watched as the red drake moved forward to attack, teeth bared and ready to try and take down his opponent, whatever the cost. These drakes really did live for battle and not much else. Kadin was worried, but also excited for the results.

Dustdevil managed to shake off the ringing in his ears, but by the time he had managed to recover himself, the opponent was already moving in. Noa didn't know what was going to come out of the other drake's mouth, but given that it was doing this, he doubted it was going to be anything good.
Ah well, Dustdevil had had a good run. He might get lucky yet, but Noa doubted anything miraculous would happen at this point.
Still, it was a bit grim to stall orders and ask that Dustdevil simply wait to get taken out. He'd never given up in any of his other fights before, so Noa figured he'd at least give the brown drake the dignity of going out fighting. "Rend," he called out, for all the good that it would do. Rhys averted his eyes, while Noa watched on, waiting for the end to come.

Calculations
Lucio uses Breathe Fire! Lucio's Dexterity of 5 + 9 rolled by staff = 14 vs. the 5 Dexterity of Dustdevil Lucio will deal the most damage possible! Breathe Fire deals 10 damage Dustdevil's Stamina is now -3
While the Brown put up a good fight, the Red is victorious in the end. The Pit crew come to tend to the Brown's wounds.
Results Lucio gains 2 levels and Kadin gains 5 pit prize points Dustdevil gains 1 level and Noa gains 3 pit prize points
