His mind garden didn't change with the seasons; mostly of gravel with a few shaped trees here and there, shapes drawn in the sand with little rakes that you pinch with two fingers to do intricate designs with, if its about the size of your hand. The garden is surrounded by a wing of older timed patio, not unlike oriental human buildings with fishhook styled rooflines that swoop outwards and shield from rain and sun. The breeze has come... ruffling his fur... chiming a few wood and skipping stone made chimes... Chirp? Drawn back into the world of gradually fading pain, the fox squinted one eye open. Was it his imagination, or did the jackaroo actually seem a bit concerned. Partially tangled from the harness catching further on the handles, his little gauntleted fingers are resting on the fox's calf, looking up at him. The apple twig has been abandoned, or finished? Sirius' aqua eyes catch his own, a mixture of concern and curiosity and a smidge of unease in those orbs. 'Its ok Sirius, I'm fine.' the fox reconciles his foreign creature with his soft voice. 'I will be fine... just resting...' Where he felt the most discomfort came from his palms now. 15

He felt it first. The gentle shuffling and a spike of heartrate against his back. Squawking. Kristofor tried to reach around for the satchel strung across his back but a new wave of pain prvented him from doing so. Nodding his head back at the place where he kept treats, maybe SIrius could take a hint? Whatever the fox was trying to ask, it didn't reach him entirely. But the jackaroo did hear the scratching and squawking sounds. Lolloping back around the still and pained fox, the jackaroo watched the colorful lump that he seemed very attached to, wore it literally everywhere outside, wiggle and make noises. There's a little loop here... what happens if he pulls it? Hooking a few fingers in it, it takes both paws to pull it open. Squawking and suddenly falling, Sirius finds himself with a chest and faceful of squabing baby bird, beating its barby wingsticks and screaming at everything. His paws release the pull and he backs up to the point of feeling a drop with the edges of his large feet. Turn away from that... and against the wall he was, still clinging to the baby bird who seemed intent on beating him to death with its drumsticks. 16

Finally setting it down, Sirius checks his face briefly with a few swipes of his paws to make sure the baby bird hadn't caused any damage; really hadn't, its just a baby after all. Until he touched two little cuts in a cross right before his armored cheek, coming back slightly red. The little bird had hurt him. Actually hurt him. It kicked and shrieked as instinct fought clumsy, figuring out which way was damn up. Blinking in the bright sun. Claws and tail and more claws and barbs scrabbling on the wood as it flopped about, seeking and seeking. Bump, it went against something big, black and warm. WARM. The bird clung onto the warm with the little wingsticks, now noted to be tipped with sharp little points, if the discomforted noise of the fox went anything beside. He didn't seem to be able to make any sudden movements to removing the beastly bird from his back either, still making and smelling of pain and blood. Sirius churrs to himself, a bit miffed that he's doing pest control for the fox who he doesn't even like, before hooking his long fingers under and around chickensticks' body and pulling it off the fox like you would a tick. 17

'Thank you Sirius...' the fox breathes a sigh of relief. Nothing sharp should get near the spine, unless its a doctor called Mrs. badger. He barely manages to turn his head briefly to see Sirius holding the baby bird far out from himself, the creature fighting nail and feather. Blinking its big tangerine eyes open, the bird that could be an ave grape sees the jackaroo..., turns its head sharply and sees the giant fox. The head sharply tilts over, nearly to the point you'd think it would break its neck. Before the head snaps back upright and it tries to bite Sirius again. Snapping a thick beak that did have some teeth inside. What sort of monster was this strange barbed thing?! SQUAAAAB It makes a loud noise more like a dying squeaker, the beak wide open and... oh. Its hungry. Does it eat rocks? Something splatted out of the open satchel, smelling like the fox in pain. The baby bird glances at the jackaroo before it struggles over to the squashy object, and tstruggles to break it open. Finally does, and its a mess. The thing is scarfing down squishy meat goodies like the food is going to vanish. 18

he almost wishes the creature wasnt' eating beside him like that. The pain has receded enough for him to turn the open satchel around and seal it shut so nothing else fell out. Kristofor shifts himself around, leaving red streaked pawprints on the wood as he witnesses the scarfing baby bird and the slightly shocked looking jackaroo. WHat, did he think it was a branch eater? That made three carnivores under his roof, not counting him. The little baby bird did indeed eat meat, and those squishy goodies are more worm length shapes then anything else. Babies dont' know how to chew though. Granted, can a bird with nub teeth chew at all. He'd never witnessed any of the waterbirds nearby chewing their food. Abandoning the now empty food pouch, the baby bird, looking like someone had taught it how to murder, smacked its beak happily before stretching its little wingsticks out... and sneezing. POOF The little barbs that were on the edges of its little clawed arms burst open, and COLOR. It had little purple-red feathers lining the outer edges of each arm, and a bit crowning its head, and each edge of the tail tip. Well, definitely not a lizard. 19

It glanced between jackaroo, between fox, and between the conventiently placed large hole in the wall. It chose hole in the wall, and ran for it. Well... -insert choice of laiyan swear here- 'Wait!' Well that wasn't going to go down well, as Kristofor scrambled to his feet, rapidfire calling Sirius to follow him. If he followed, thats probably why there was the loud crash of wheelbarrow going horizonal and the sounds of running fourpaws, running two feet, and running fourhops down the tunnel. If the baby bird could see where it was going, this was news to the fox. Maybe just running because it could? The creature kept running until it staggered over something large in the way that it couldn't actually see. Baby had been just running for th ehell of it. Skidding ot a halt, Kristofor caught hold of the baby bird, and he felt the jackaroo brush against him, the rope tailing him with several open lengths left. Well... if a small pile of rocks in a circle wasn't a conventient place to find.... as the bird pecked the fox's already abused paw and clambered out of his fingers and into the circle... this was a very bad idea... 20 -fin +4
