This suggestion is that a skill be introduced that allows a character to counter intimidation, commanding presence, and awing presence. Most folks in the city have been around large, intimidating beasts all the time, and plenty of those have seen scary or impressive thing after thing while trying to train their beast to be hardy. At the least, most characters constantly deal with terrifying beasts that they own or walk by or compete against.
I suggest a skill be introduced that gives a character the ‘scary’ stat-drain effect immunity of hardy. Not the rest of hardy’s bonuses(ending poison/bleed/lingering effects after three turns), only a resistance to the weakness inspired by intimidating or awe-inspiring sights due to their common nature in the city.
Below are some possible skill names/effects: 1: Shrug Off: Combat skill based on that trope in stories and life where a person is slow to act to something horrifying, but then slides back into normal action. Allows character to negate the negative effects of appearance abilities after the first combat turn has passed.
2: Inured: Husbandry skill based on a character owning/training/constantly seeing spooky beasts, gaining the resistance due to familiarity. Outright cancel the stat drain from appearance-based abilities.
3: Show No Fear: Combine the two, and stick them in either one of the two previous skill groups or charisma. This would be a multilevel skill in this case, with the first level having the required one turn wait, and the second negating it from the start.

I like this idea! I've always kinda felt that it sucked that Characters that, for example- spend most of their time training giant predator warbeasts, would apparently continue to be scared stiff of them all the time.

Staff has agreed that we're going to wait until we do some more adjusting to the player combat system before implementing something like this. We like the idea, we just need to consider what changes are going to be made before implementing something like this. :)
