It was that time of year again- the time of storms. It didn't take long for Spring to break into downright heat showers and peals of thunder even after an otherwise clear morning. It was one of those threatening-to-rain days that just so happened to be one of Morgan's rare days off, and they couldn't afford to waste it. The sky was covered in thick grey clouds that darkened to an angry black-green on the horizon whenever Morgan finally catches a glimpse of their soulbond at the city's edge.
"It's about to storm." He says, looking up at the sky a little warily. He wasn't worried for his own sake- but mostly for Morgan.
"Mmmhhm." Morgan acknowledges. "That means we'll have to get to the quest board kw-k-quicker." They said. Endymion manages to keep himself from sighing- and instead follows after the bespectacled human. He's happy to be able to visit the city again- but exploring was going to have to wait it would seem.

Endymion had to admit that he wasn't the biggest fan of coming to the Labs city during rain-storms. He'd much rather be at the Canyon during those. He loved the sound of the thunder echoing through the canyons. That and the hollow tiny splashes of rain against the rocks... It really made him feel at home. Something about being a draconic (he felt at least) tied him to that lovely land. Someday, he hoped he'd even fly over it.
However, another part of him found the streets of the Labs City as familiar as his own nest. He could feel it in his very stone that this place was his. However- he knew that this was his link to Morgan manifesting in him. He regards his soulbond with eyes that were still unused to being leveled nearly twice as high as the wispy top of Morgan's tallest hair. A Labs-elemental if he ever did see one.
Morgan is much more sure than they should be able to be that it was going to pour down rain soon. If only they'd worked with Endymion on his flying before now!
They make it three quarters of the way there at a quick clip before the sky opens up on them.

Morgan darts for an overhang to try to avoid the rain- and instead finds theirself beneath a great orange wing. Of course- Endymion would not mind the rain. It was part of him, in that strange fringe way that made Morgan feel as if they had an affinity for chemicals despite the fact that their immune system could hardly support any accidental exposures to such. They tilted their head to look up at him and gave him a nod. A very slight rumble seems to come unbidden from Endymion's chest, and he practically escorts Morgan to the quest board the rest of the way. If the rain perturbed him, Morgan could not detect it.
The quest board was devoid of others, if only because everyone must have ran for shelter whenever the pounding and surprisingly cold rain had started. Morgan was cold- certainly, but they did have someone to help them keep from being drenched.

Morgan examines the board for something that would hopefully not leave them working out in the rain (though mostly for their own benefit). Endymion looks up at the roiling clouds above and closes his eyes after a moment, taking in the cleaner smell of the rain (though the oily smells of the Labs City sort of ruined it- yet provoked in him a nostalgia that was probably not his own) and focusing on it the best he could. It was a pleasant feeling- cooling his scales. Perhaps most draconics tended to be on the warm side- warmer than humans at least. Whenever Morgan fell asleep beneath his wing when they were visiting, they were eerily cool beside his ribs.
After a moment or two of scrutiny, Morgan looks resigned and nearly growls. Endymion opens one eye and glances over them serenely. Apparently they were a bit annoyed. He makes a soft 'what is it' sort of noise.

Morgan simply shakes their head. "There's n-not a lot here. Only this... Kinda mediocre one. Some person needing an exterminator but apparently n-not wanting to pay for one." The bespectacled human sighs, and pushes their glasses further up on their nose. "It's better than nothin'." They decided. Endymion figured that the sooner they got there and completed whatever job this was, the sooner he could visit the estate and get some rest. There was a long trip to be had by foot to get here, even as a Draconic.
He rumbles an agreement, and the pair begin walking. "This is on Miisaa." Morgan says, matter of factly. "There's a good food p-place on Miisaa. M-maybe we should stop there and wait for the rain to s-stop." Endymion rumbles another noise of agreement. The rain gets a little harder. Morgan was going on and on babbling, and Endymion slides into a sense of comfort with the situation overall. It felt good.

Morgan loved how the town was mostly abandoned-looking in the gloom of late spring rain. Of course people still hurried from place to place with umbrellas over their head, though they tended to get wherever they were going incredibly speedily. Morgan simply walked. Of course, it would be horribly inconsiderate of them had Endymion perhaps been any other draconic- but he loved the soothing aloe of cool rain when it was hot. Summer and Winter both were contentious to him, just as they were to Morgan.
They did stop by the restaurant that they had been considering- and they waited out the rest of the rain. It was just on the end of the street that the barn would be located on- according to the quest slip that Morgan had brought with them. Soon enough, the spring shower was over- and already the clouds were vacating as if they had never been at all.

It did not take long, past the pair finishing their meal, for the sky to clear up to a bright sun-shiny blue, and for it to begin getting muggy again. The Labs had been this way for the last little bit. It would get muggy and hot until a heat shower popped up (sometimes becoming a roiling storm) and then it would rain heavily, the sky would clear up suddenly, and then the heat would bake the rain right back up into a muggy mess again. It was horrible, in Morgan's opinion, but the last two years had been a little worse than the previous ones (at least in their opinion).
The pair walks down the road, and it doesn't take very long before they found theirselves standing on the sidewalk in front of a rather quaint farmhouse- with a much more fancy barn in the back. Morgan shakes their head. "Hard to believe s-such a fancy barn is overcome with rodents." The unspoken 'where is the wait-staff?' managed to stay on the tip of Morgan's tongue.

Endymion had already come to terms with the fact that his particular soulbond needed a bit of lee-way when it came to being judgmental. Instead of sighing, he gently steps onto the grass. That spurred the small human to move forward. Morgan highly doubted that most people would be used to having a quite large draconic individual walking up to their door to accept a quest straight off. Might as well make this tedious task as easy for theirselves as possible.
Morgan steps up to the door and gives the typical knocks. It didn't take long for an incredibly confused individual to open the door. The person was an elderly humanish individual, and Morgan didn't really pay much attention more than that. Why should they be confused if they were the ones requesting quest-takers? Morgan simply holds out the quest slip- "You asked for..." What was it again? "...Mousers." Morgan mumbles that. Sudden realization flashed across the individual's face.

The individual regarded Endymion with some amount of confusion and interest before nodding. They then led Morgan (with faltering steps- no wonder the person needed help) back to the barn (not that it was needed, they could have found their own way there easily enough from the street) and then they opened one of the doors. It had seemed that the issue was bad enough that the livestock had been let out to pasture (Morgan admittedly had noticed this- but they weren't sure if this was just an action that the owner took later in the evening than others typically did- or perhaps because it was after the rain). There were droppings everywhere. Droppings of rats it looked like, not from traditional livestock.
Morgan nods, and then decides what to do. "A-alright. I'll be sure to get rid of the vermin- b-but I need you and the livestock not to be closeby." Morgan warns. Endymion peers into the front door with a curious expression.

The older individual did not seem to have any issues with that, nor with continuing their chosen profession despite their age and apparent feebleness. Morgan had to respect that, at least. Once the individual and the livestock were out of the way, Morgan waved off Endymion too. "P-please wait out at the fencepost." Morgan said to him. Despite the polite verbiage, it was obviously non-negotiable. Endymion moves away, but not before affixing Morgan with a bit of an argumentative gaze. Morgan was completely unperturbed (in fact, they looked a little proud of him) by his pride.
Morgan drew upon their magic. Their fingertips tingled at first, and then their hair stood on end on the back of their neck. They focused on controlling it- and then focused on all of the tiny little blips of electricity they could feel beneath the hay and in little holes in the walls. Suddenly- they pulled on that force, trying to pull it to them.
Immediately they felt all of the little hearts stop. Now to... Clean them up. "Endymion- I'm gonna need s-s-some help here!" Morgan opens the door and calls out. A job well done- though this was the tedious part...

[Morgan uses Mass Seizure -12 Chaos MP, Everyone else is out of range and they have Electrical Resistance and are unaffected] - [Done, the pair clean up the rats and go home.]
