The human was literally babbling now, and Flare honestly had long since stopped listening. He wondered if he could harden the earth under the Warden's feet and prevent him from getting free to come drop random people on his garden step who were in need of help. What did he look like, someone who had endless amounts of time? Summertime was just around the corner, and he had WORK to do. Does he know how much watering it takes to keep a bonsai from wilting in full sun? No. How about how much pruning is done before the blooming season ends? Not to mention, he had to take care of the animals in his care. Essentially leaving the plant creatures to do their own thing, and the baakir were perfectly happy on grazing the treetops. If they didn't follow the mottled Lisan's lead and decide to kick him if he got too close. But now he had a ...bird plant thing too. 1 x.20

The creature had been brought by as a gift from an 'old friend', but to his knowledge, Flare really had no friends, but only brief acquaintances. Perhaps Cortana and her family had sent it forward, because of his hobby of gardening... or his passion. Where does the hobby blend into passion, and past that into an obsession. He didn't know. "Just just PLEASE GET RID OF THE MICE!" the human blurted out loudly, catching him by surprise. Were they crying?! Finally turning and leaving the garden wall at long last. Believing him to be a lost cause. Impaled on the gate was the flyer of pleadings of help, with an address. The Warden, the sneaky brat, picks it up before he can and reads it. "That farmer runs one of the more prolific granaries outside the city. Most of the city's bread and grain feeds come from outside the walls, due to the influx of animals." he responds, pulling back before a waist high bird snaps his fingers. 2 x.20

"If he is that rich, why come ask someone like me for help" Flare asks the mammalian as he gets back to work on watering his bonsai for the day. It was gonna be a hot one, and he could sense it. "Because he's asked literally everyone in the city? And you're not an unknown face, you and your dog there were part of the last thingy for dogs, right?" he prods. "Only Grendel's name was mentioned in that article, unless you look up records, I have no mention in there." The branchraptor bird thing made a strange noise between a screech adn a brock sound, like someone tried to liken a garden topiary to look like a raptor, and got wings on it. It was confusing and he had no idea what to make of this creature. Because it really seemed to like the Warden's fingers, lunging at them every now and then. 3 x.20

The warden started to tell him that 'yes, he was in the paper', but the foreign dragonboy is right; he is not visually in the paper, nor mentioned. He picked up common enough to read? Sharp dergonboy. "The guy mentions he'll pay for the job done. I mean, you don't have anything to lose on the going out part. You never. go. out. ...anymore." finally the Warden chooses his fingers do have some importance adn removes them from the fence before a sharp twigged beak smashes into the fence post, clearly after him now. "And calm that stupid bird down. its too finger friendly." The tumaian sighs, watching the mammalian go and glanced as the new bird. Whatever or whereever it came from, seriously had no manners. And no outlet of energy. Anything smaller then a dragonoak was taking cover and the dragonoak himself was big as the bird. Clearly as big. 4 x.20

The branchraptor isn't a stupid animal...plant...hybrid thing. It has a sense of smell, and the char on the leafy dragonoak's breath was. not. missed. Fire bad. All raptor know. Fire is BAD. So what do you do? You don't mess with teh thing that smells of fire. Beady green eyes narrow as the rude and chatty monkey thingy leaves at long last. Its beak splits apart and little nibs of bark that likely could cause some damage if it got hold of you is visible if one was actually within view of its face. Like a sawtooth comb. The tailed human doesn't appear happy about whatever it was chattered at. Well, flat faces are hard to figure out what they were. Its not like looking at a beak. Open beak is happy or hot. Closed beak is normal or angry. You can't show 'sad' with a beak. 5

Next thing anyone knew, the creature is stamping along after Flare as he closes the gate carefully after himself, a traumatized looking hamster sized food in a visible cage of branches to lure the animal. It must be hungry. So if it wanted food, they'd go at least chase the mice. The address was on the impaled piece of flyer that he found jammed on the fence out of his sight range (no thank you warden) and seriously he didn't recall where a Miisaa is. The branch bird made enough noise as its thick barky feet stamped after him on the cobbles. Not a clop, but like hearing large elephantine feet. Or the clunk of wood. Sounded like his own branch staff. Yes, its a staff. He's doing better and does not require a cane. Why he still had it? It had a hooked edge like a shepherd's crook and could catch the bird gently on the edge of its wing. 6 x.20

The streets are clearly labeled once Flare finds himself in the middle of the city. Occasionally asking questions of any passerby while holding the trapped rodent inside its prison far over the branch bird's head. The city person, dressed rather officially with very shiny buttons but with a very bored expression otherwise, glances him up and down. Ok, is it the tail? Occasionally Flare felt very judged on his appearance, even not being a ssashirk anymore. He'd tried to dust himself off best he could. The human sighs, like has everything else better to do then be a human signpost. "Two streets down from the fountain square. Follow the road until you see a large silo. Looks like a round top tower. Got it?" Flare nods and starts off beyond before the official looking human yelps loudly. "Oi! Get off you stupid thing!" Turning around, he sees a sight that might make him smirk. 7 x.20

Well... the branch bird no longer had an interest in the rodent in a branch ball, instead having its beak hooked on the human's sleeve as they struggle and swat at the bird with their arm waving frantically. But before the limb could strike, Flare intervened, catching the bird around the ribs with one arm, and the other unhooking its beak from the sleeve. Once parted, the human straightened up, staring him down. "You sir, are responsible for the actions of your pet. I can arrest you for this." Flare straightens up as well, the bird struggling in his arm. "I am sorry for the action of my bird. It is brand new." "That makes no difference." the human snaps back, and reaches likely for something, but looks up when the tailed humanish opens his hand and offers a chewed off button. The string is even still attached. "This is yours." Putting the button in the surprised human's pocket, he nods and leaves the area. 8 x.20

"Shiny things and rodents. Whatever you are, you're going to be trouble, Kitufe." the name came to him in the removal of the button. Button in his native language. Kitufe squawks and tries to struggle out of his grip, dislodging leaves that were feathers and he finally put the bird back down. Snapping its beak and grouchy now, the branchbird stands there for a good five minutes, preening the leaves back into place. The plumed feathers on their tail are quite a sight. Did these creatures ever molt? He didn't know. Showing Kitufe the ball of rodent once the bird had stopped preening its leaves back into place, they got back down the street. Miisaa mostly had farms once you got away form city center. Few cottages, an apartment building, a shop in a little strip, and the rest opened up into much larger properties. Made sense to have a granary out here. 9 x.20

The farmer clearly is at the end of their wits by the time he arrives about mid afternoon. It was hot, and the sun beat down on all of them. Kitufe seemed to not mind this at all, flapping their wings and shaking themselves out beefore preening again. "I don't care how you drive them out. Just do it. Please." they just can't look the humanish in the eye, and hurry away, probably to nurse themselves in a manner that involved squashy chairs or petting cats. Flare entered the barn and something small rushed past his feet. He's got small animals so something small running past doesn't freak him out. Kitufe screeches loudly and the mouse, if it even is a mouse, dives for cover. All he has to do is stand there and Kitufe is leaping and diving into the mess that is a barn of hay, occasionally coming up with half a mouse disappearing down its gullet. Mmm, mouse. 10 -fin +2 x.20
