"Unfortunately yes, he's about the same as he was when he was standard sized at least," she admitted with a small sigh, closing the door behind them as they all entered into the room. She was pleased with the way things were going so far, and hoped they would continue during the whole breeding. Ladybird sniffed at Vino and coyly licked at his cheek a little, if only to get him to pay a little attention to her. She knew what this place was for at least, having bred before at least.
"Any time!" Jack told him with a broad smile, "And.... yes, I have a lot of them. Honestly I've lost count, which is horrible of me I know. There is one I'm thinking of selling, but I'm not sure I can actually go through with it, considering how much work they are to train and breed that is." The woman chewed on a fingernail with a small wince. She hadn't trained Tanner yet, but she had gone through all that trouble to have him be bred and all that, so... was it worth it or not?

[Breeding: 16/20]
Nerius nodded, not really sure what else to say about a giant houluh. He stayed next to Jack, giving the two houluh space. Ladybird seemed to be interested, at least, and he didn't want to interrupt the mood. Vino froze a little at the unexpected lick, but wasn't otherwise ruffled by it, and after a moment, returned an interested sniff, tail wagging slightly.
"They are more intensive than other species," Nerius agreed, he hadn't even finished training his first. "Do you have plans to breed the pup?" Nerius asked, considering, "I.. would think it a better use of time to train one you're invested in, than to invest the effort than a pup that may not be bred." That was his thought process, at least, but he had no idea if it was useful to Jack. Perhaps she had more time than he to devote to houluh, and the time investment wasn't as much a deciding factor.

"That... that's true, I hadn't thought of if I'll breed him or not. I think he's got recessive genes, but other than that he's a little... plain? Not that it's a bad thing! It's just not the kind of look I'm really going for I think," Jack answered, brow furrowed as she was lost in thought for a little bit. She didn't know what else to do, but she felt bad if he was just going to be there without doing much of anything with him. He was another of Light's offspring, so she would feel bad to get rid of him, but at the same time he deserved better than what she could give him, she figured with a small sigh. "You're right, I should probably send him somewhere else. He is Light's offspring as well... I don't suppose you'd be interested in another?" the woman asked dryly, expecting a resounding no.

[Breeding: 18/20]
"Are those recessive genes uncommon?" they used to be, Nerius was fairly sure, but with as much selective as people did, he had no idea if the amount of recessive gene houluh had increased by now. "Though I suppose for you it might depend more on if you have others with recessive genes?" If she had plenty with similar genetics, it was less likely the pup would be useful for a breeding project. He wasn't sure what kind of genetics Maki had, other than what was visible.
Having not been rejected with his initial sniff, Vino went in for a light nuzzle, enough that the other houluh could pull away if she wanted.
"Me?" Nerius blinked in surprise at the unexpected offer, "I.. suppose it would depend on how similar he is to Maki, or whatever pups come from this breeding." The pup in question was a half sibling to his existing houlou, which wasn't great for bloodline variety, but if they were different enough, well, houluh were generally bred outside of the same kennel.

"I mean they're hard to breed for unless you know what you're going for, and even then I don't think a lot of people are breeding for recessive genes, just the white markings you can get at this point at least," Jack admitted, "I really think that at least." She watched as Ladybird nuzzled up to Vino for a moment and then the woman shook her head, "I mean it's easy enough to breed for it if you know what you're doing though."
Tapping her chin a little, she smiled and looked Nerius over for a moment, "Well, at least the one I'm thinking of is recessive, I believe, they're not grown yet so I don't have access to the genetics just yet, but the coat is definitely a lighter color than most... Come over sometime and see what you think, if you're interested that is." Jack leaned back against the wall and stared out across the room, a little lost in thought for a moment or two.

[Breeding: 20/20]
"Really, the white markings are the more popular?" Nerius would have expected the other markings to be more poplar, with how much the white could cover up everything else. Then again, it had been the white frosted speckles that had made Maki stick out to him, so perhaps it shouldn't have been such a surprise. "I'm not sure what kind of genetics Maki has, brown with points based on her appearance, but I won't know the details until she's grown."
The wagging of Vino's increased as the matronne responded, and with his advances accepted, nuzzled a bit closer, enjoying the attention.
It didn't seem to matter how long he was around Jack, her offers continued to surprise. "I'd like that," he smiled, a little shyly, "Thank you." It sounded like she had quite the collection, and it would be interesting to see the houlou, but that wasn't why the offer was giving him that unusual, friendly fuzzy feel.
