All things would work out, she just hoped she could find her crystals before the end of the trip. It would be difficult to do, they would probably have to spend a few days in the mines to find all eight she still needed, but until then it would be alright. She had plenty of supplies for both herself and the gargoyle, and she looked up as he started to wander away a bit, the purple glow belying where he was at the moment. Grinning, she started to follow him, it had been awhile since they had been in the mines, which was fine in the long run she supposed, but they really needed to find their crystals so she could make more nodes. There were plenty that needed to be had, she figured, and it all worked out in the end. Jack needed order crystals, she already had one for her node, now she just needed eight more, it seemed.

Honestly she could just make another hollow node and call it good for another year, but where was the fun in that? She frowned a little and thought of all the spells she could come up with from that pool, and realized while it would be nice to have more hollow magic, she really wanted to have all the magic she didn’t currently have before she started making more of the ones she already had. It sounded convoluted, but at least she knew what she was talking about, she figured. Goran was leading her somewhere, she didn’t know where, but she trusted him almost more than she trusted herself, she knew he wouldn’t lead her to harm. At least, she hoped. No, they were too well bonded and she knew he loved her, even though it was hard for him to think of it that way. Ah well, at least it was entertaining teasing him about it.

It would be wonderful if she could find all of her crystals in one go, but she knew better than to really hope for that, she figured. Ah well, she would do what she could and everything would be alright, she thought at least. It didn’t matter what was going to happen, she would get them eventually and it was going to be great. The woman smiled a little as she followed Goran through the winding tunnels, wondering where he was taking her at the moment and hoping it was going to be good. Little did she realize it was where they had first met, that he was taking her to it and all, and it would be fine all the same. Jack watched as he turned the corner and then started to sniff around a little bit, wondering what to do and what he could find now that they were there. It had taken a couple of hours to get there, but it was going to be worth it, maybe they could even find his old stash if they were lucky.

Everything would be fine she figured as she settled into the area, putting the cart in the corner against the wall and taking the pick and shovel out of it. Goran picked a spot to start digging and then started, dirt flying behind him as he dug in the dirt and rock. It was going to be great, they would find anything at the moment and all that, hopefully it would be a crystal or two and things would be fine. She really wanted this node, though she had two others after this one for the moment until she started to double up on her nodes. Smiling a little, she hoped that things would work out for her and Goran at the moment, but until then, it would be alright she figured as she touched the pouch at her hip with all of her nodes. It was going to be just fine, though she didn’t know what to expect from things at the moment.

Kanellos was horrified as he peered out of Jack's bag. He didn't know what was going on or why they were in this disgusting place, but he knew that he wanted out, that was all that could happen at the moment. Still, the woman ignored his whining and then stepped inside out of the snow. At least it would be warm in the mines, she knew, but it would take a little while no matter what. Smiling a little, she leaned against the wall for a moment and then started in with the cart that held all of the tools bumbling along behind her. She was sure they would find some good stuff, maybe even an order crystal or two, but she wasn't going to bank on that. Jack smiled a little and patted Kanellos on the head while he quivered in the bag, and she hoped that things would be alright no matter what.

Whatever she did, she was sure that things would be fine in the end, Jack figured that Kanellos would like the gems and stones they would find after they were cleaned off, he liked the fancy stuff she knew, but actually getting them was the hard part. Oh well, it was alright in the end, she knew that things would be alright. Laughing a little, she wandered into the mines with Kanellos still in her bag and she hoped that things would work out no matter what. Smiling a little, she figured it would be fine no matter what happened, and the woman smiled a little wider, wondering what they might find. It was going to be fine in the end, and she reached out to touch the wall of the tunnel as she walked, wondering what was inside for them to find. She had left Goran at home this time, she just wanted to deal with the pup this time.

All good things would happen in the mines, she knew that, but at the same time, she worried about the pup a little. She knew he was going to stay in the bag or the cart the whole time, but didn't know if he would still get dirty or something. It was possible, but she didn't know what else to do with things. Honestly she wished she could keep him out of the mines altogether, but she really needed to find order crystals, and if she could kill two birds with one stone, well, she would. Giving a bit of a sigh, she headed left at a junction and then kept going deeper and deeper. The deeper you went, the better stuff you could find, she knew, and she hoped that things would work out for her in the long run with it. Ah well, if it didn't, then it didn't, and she would come back with something else.

Whatever happened to them, she figured things couldn't get much worse than they already were. Sure there could be a cave in or something, but she wasn't going to wish it upon themselves at this point. Kanellos still didn't know why he'd been dragged to this place, but other than that, it didn't really matter. Jack pushed her hair back as she pushed onward into the mines, hoping beyond hope that everything would be alright in the end of it all. Sighing a little, she knew it was going to be tough digging on her own without a familiar with her, but at the same time, it didn't really matter at the moment. It just meant she couldn't find a few things, she was sure of it, Goran didn't miss a thing at this point, as did Grim, but she didn't want to take care of more than one animal at a time right now.

Jack finally paused her walking and stretched out. She'd been walking with the pup in her bag for about an hour now, and figured it was time for her to start digging at some point. She put the bag with the Houluh in it into the cart she was pulling behind herself and then popped her neck before grabbing her pickax and digging away at the wall. Everything was going to be fine, she knew, and she hoped that Kanellos wouldn't be too terribly upset over things or anything. It all made sense to her, but she wasn't sure what else to do at the moment. She needed to do two things at once, so... this was the best idea she'd had after awhile. At least it was warm in the mines and there wasn't any snow blowing deep down inside like there was outside, but she didn't know what else to do at the moment.

A lovely matched pair of gems, even without a familiar to sniff them out.

The pup was still mortified that he was here when things were terribly messy, but there was nothing he could do. Struggling a little against the bag, he finally tumbled out of it and into the cart a little bit more before shaking his head, his ears flopping every which way and whining at the woman, wondering if they could leave yet. He didn’t like it here, but he suspected the woman didn’t really care all that much, which was terrible in his mind at least. Jack smiled at him and patted him on the head, careful not to leave any dirt behind, lest the pup lose his mind. She knew he wasn’t a fan of the dirt, which she told him, and he laid down and whined again, accepting that he had to be there for now, but not wanting to be there anyway. This was certainly going to be a long trip, she decided with a sigh.

All Jack could do really was keep working at the walls when she wasn’t soothing Kanellos. It was long, tedious work, and she poured some food and water into bowls and placed them inside of the cart for the pup. The Houluh was grateful for that much at least, he figured as he drank some of the liquid and nibbled on the food. He didn’t know why some people liked this place, but there had to be something interesting about it or else they wouldn’t be there at the moment. Laying down again, he rested his head on his forepaws and wondered what else to do right now. It wasn’t like he was the kind of Houluh to go running around like crazy, especially in all of this dirt and rocks, but he didn’t know what else to do at the moment, and he was getting pretty bored, which was never a good thing for any animal, Jack figured.

With finding things, at least she knew she was going to get her money’s worth. She already had gotten her money’s worth out of her tools, but her time was limited as well and she hoped to find some good things today with the help of the pup. Not that… he was really helping or anything, but at least he was getting a little experience of being out in the world, and that was what mattered. Smiling to herself, she threw the pickax against the wall time and again, wondering when she might find something, she didn’t care what it was at this point, which was fine at the same time. Giving another little smile, she pushed her hair back with a free hand and then gripped the pickax again to throw it against the wall. Kanellos was cringing a little at the loud noise, but at least he wasn’t scared of it completely, which was a good thing.

At least she was having a little fun, that was the important thing. She liked working, especially with her hands, and this was about as hands on as you could get in the Labs at this point. Sure there were things going all the time, but she didn’t know what to expect from things at the same time. Laughing a little to herself, she checked on the pup again and then turned back to the wall. Jack thought she saw a little glimmer in the light of the torch, and she peered closer at the wall to see if it was accurate. Grinning, she reached out and touched the smooth stone deep in the hole she had made in the wall, it was mostly blue with other various colors and shades, a labradite if she wasn’t mistaken, and she usually wasn’t mistaken. At least this meant she could find some stones even without a familiar, which was definitely a good thing at this point.
