Specter had decent dreams of fighting and blood, and he smiled in his sleep. Only a tier three Drake would smile about such bloody dreams, but she didn't think it was a bad thing if she had known what he was dreaming about either. Jack flicked her hair back and hoped that things would be fine, and she smiled when she saw a hint of blue in the hole she was digging. Well, that worked out well enough, she supposed, and she smiled a little as she dug around it, hoping it would be something good but prepared for something dumb like a bit of glass or something. She had a much better eye than that, or at least she felt she did, and she knew it had to be a stone of some sort. When it was finally uncovered, she realized it was a sodalite, a lovely stone, and she wished she could do something with it.
Well, at least it was something, she figured as she plopped it into the cart with the citrine. All things well and good, she would have more stones by the time the Sarane had grown. Smiling at him as he whimpered in his sleep, she wondered if he was thinking about fighting and dominance, or if that would come around later in life. Of course he had a heavy fighting lineage, as most Sarane did, of course, but she felt that Alexei's line had quite a bit more, and adding Alic to it just made it even better. Giving a smile, she hoped that everything would be fine and he wouldn't be too terribly blood thirsty, but wouldn't be surprised if that happened either. It was just something she would have to train him out of, she was sure, and that would certainly be done if she needed to at the moment at least.
Wriggling around in his sleep, Specter tried to find a comfortable spot for himself at the moment, though there wasn't really one to be had. The area was pretty rocky instead of covered in dirt like most places she found, and she figured that was because they were so close to the entrance. It would be fine, she figured, he could always go into the cart if he needed to and all that, and that was perfectly fine with her. Whatever needed to happen, it would eventually happen, but for now she just wanted to have fun with things and do that. She dug around in the ground for a little while with a little yawn threatening to get out of her throat, but luckily nothing was happening at the moment. Well, there had to be something else to find, and she would find it eventually, she was pretty good at things like that, and she even felt a little thrumming sensation as well...
The trip with Specter had been a bit of a bust, she figured. Sure she’d found some things, but she hadn’t really connected with the Sarane any. He’d slept most of the time, which didn’t help, and he was about a third of his full grown size now, maybe a little smaller. That was fine, but she didn’t know what to do, had she lost some of her edge when it came to his species? In order to make herself feel a little better, and hopefully to find some of her needed crystals, she was at the mines again with Goran, feeling much better about her chances now that they were together again. Grinning a little, she rubbed his head for a moment before they entered into the mines through the entrance, ready to see what they could find in the mines this time. It was going to be great, she knew that Goran knew his stuff, and she trusted him with her life, she knew.
Things were always better in the mines with Goran by her side. Sure she could bring Specter with her as well, but… that wasn’t going to happen, she didn’t have the energy to watch him right now, she barely had the energy to be in the mines at all! Jack sighed a little and shook her head, patting Goran on the back as he trotted past her and down into the depths of the mines. It didn’t matter at the moment, she could still see him by his glow, and he paused every now and then to make sure she could still see him. Jack frowned a little, she loved the gargoyle, he was the first one she had ever gotten from the mines, and she wondered what was going to happen for now as she wandered after her gargoyle. Maybe they would find something good after all, Goran had a better chance of finding the good stuff than anyone else, except for maybe Grim.
Grim was the only other familiar she had who was on par with Goran, though Goran outshone him quite a bit when it came to loyalty. They would both defend her to the death, but Goran would do it first, without any hesitation. Jack smiled a little as she followed him into the mines and wondered again if she should have brought something else to work with, though she wasn’t sure what that would do for her. Of course it would be great for loyalty, and Goran could take a Sarane for a little bit she was sure, but Specter was a tier three, she didn’t think that would work too well for more than one hit or so. Sighing, she wished she was a little more proactive in what she was trying to do, but for now she just wanted to find crystals, order crystals in particular. Whatever, it would all work out, and she could always leave Goran with her cart in the mines and go get Specter or someone else if she felt she could handle it now.
Maybe it would have been better to bring Grim? Get him up to par with his father or something, but Goran was her go-to familiar, and she knew that made him happy, though he wouldn’t admit to it at the moment. Giving a chuckle, she reached out and touched his back for a moment before falling back again as she followed him. He had paused again to make sure she was sticking with him. Goran knew the mines better than anyone else, she thought, and the woman smiled a little as she watched him. It was all good, she knew, and he would help her find what she wanted no matter what. As she walked, she pushed her hair back and watched for Goran’s glow, hoping that things would work out and she would find a few crystals, enough that she could talk someone into making her a node or something for the year. That would be good, right? She loved having magic, and growing her magical power was something that always looked good for her job as well.
He knew all the good spots to find crystals as well, he was pretty good at doing everything, she knew. If only that one digging area was open again… she would bring him with her to that, probably. Giving a little smile, she realized she didn’t know if that would happen anytime soon but that was alright at the same time. It was an interesting diversion, of course, but this was more useful when it all came down to it. Oh well, it didn’t matter what was happening right now, she just had to follow her gargoyle wherever he was going. He was going deep into the mines, they’d been walking for quite some time and she wasn’t sure what that was going to happen. Honestly he wouldn’t lead her into an ambush or anything, he was far too loyal for that, but she was still a little wary when it all came down to it. Whatever, she didn’t know what to do.
Jack had no idea where they were going, this part of the mines had been largely undiscovered by her at least, and she wondered what they would find in this area in the future. Maybe a lot of crystals could be found here or something? Now that would certainly be nice, she knew with a smile. Jack reached out and patted Goran’s head when he stopped and sniffed at the ground before beginning to dig a little bit. Smiling, she stopped as well, making sure the cart was out of the way from where Goran was digging at the moment, and the woman started to dig at the wall with the pickax. Hopefully they would find some good stuff, and if not, she was sure that they could find something interesting no matter what. Maybe some fossils would be nice at the moment, now she had to figure out if she needed to dig a little deeper than she usually did to find something good.
The wall was pretty hard, honestly, and she wasn’t sure what was going to happen if she couldn’t dig into it very well. It would give eventually, and she hoped she could find a pretty decent size cavern filled with things eventually, but she didn’t think that would happen. Honestly it was a nice dream though, that was everyone’s dream down in the mines she figured with a grin as she dug some more. Goran tore through the dirt at her feet, and she hoped he would find something good as well, he was always so pleased with himself when he did. She trusted him completely, which some people thought was rather odd, but not to her. What difference did it make that he was a gargoyle? Just because she had found him in the mines didn’t mean they weren’t going to do anything good together. He trusted her, he’d come with her with no questions asked whenever she had ‘tamed’ him after all.
Whatever happened, she knew she would be safe with Goran. There were other gargoyles in the mines, of course, but she wasn’t sure what to do with things if they attacked. Goran could keep her safe, she figured with a smile, and she certainly wasn’t without her own defenses and attacks, but she hoped it wouldn’t come to that at the same time. She felt she had collected one of each kind of animal from the mines after searching for a long time, but there might be something else, she really didn’t know. With Goran still digging at her feet, she continued to swing the pickax at the wall of the mines, hoping to find something good. Now, whatever it was, she didn’t know, but she hoped to find something more than just plain stones at this point. That wasn’t what she was after, she was after more… rare items at this point.
Now, she needed to know what she could find in the mines, eventually. The stones didn’t bother her so much now that the Workshop was closed, and she wasn’t sure it was going to open again at this point. A frown crossed her face, all that work she had done for nothing at this point… Oh well, it didn’t matter too much right now, there were other things she could do with them, like trade them for weapons, armor, items, credits, anything really. A lot of people were still looking to increase their own hoards, which didn’t make much sense to her, but at the same time she had quite a few of them herself and she wished she knew what was going on right now. Pushing her hair back, she hoped that things would work out in the long run, and she smiled at Goran who paused for a moment, and she didn’t know what else to do.
It was interesting no matter what, and she hoped that things would be worked out when things happened. It was alright in the long run, and the woman knew they would find some good stuff, maybe she would work at fishing with a Houluh again soon or something, that would work no matter what, right? Giving a sigh, she wiped her forehead off on her arm and looked around, it was hot down here, they must be close to the center of the mountain or something. She knew there was some lava in the mountain, though she wasn’t sure how deep it ran. It was alright at the same time, and she smiled at Goran. He must know something she didn’t, she figured, and she smiled at him, ready to do what she needed to in order to get back once they were finished for awhile. With any luck they would find one or two crystals down here and then get back to whatever she really needed to be doing.
