Santiago was excited for this blind date. Ashe had been busy, setting draconics up, and finally it was his turn to go out and meet a lady! Despite the agreement to meet up, Santi knew it wasn't quite a done deal yet; he had to convince her that he was worth her time (which he was, of course!) and ultimately it would be up to her. But he was finally out of the cave and off to meet a new lady. "Slow down, Santi! She'll still be there two minutes from now!" He laughed, watching his draconic partner. He was like a child when he was excited, though he was more mature most other times. And smoothe enough with the females. But Ashe had carefully selected Draconics over the years, as one might go over Equillion bloodlines, and Santiago had been at the head of that family tree so he couldn't really partake, without the risk of inbreeding. Which Ashe didn't want. Shortly, they arrived at the series of caves and such, used for private breeding rooms. [Ashe is using sever bond at the cost of 4 MP for the duration of this breeding]

"Don't be nervous Ivy, you look great," Jack told her for the millionth time as they waited in the area they had agreed upon. The Draconic, however, still seemed on edge as she checked her hide a few times in the water below, looking this way and that and trying to adjust her glow a few times. It was futile to do so, she glowed softly on her own, but it wasn't something she was too proud of. She didn't know what all this was going to do, how it was going to go for them, but she was sure the woman with her wouldn't lead her astray when it came to a potential short term mate. Her brother had children, but Ivy herself hadn't at this point, this was all new to her, and as she checked her skin again, she heard Jack chuckle a little before hearing her call out to someone, "Hey there Ashe!"

"Right on time," Ashe murmured to Santiago, who had appeared to be concerned that they were late and the lady had already left. Soon as the Makiyan saw the newcomers, he squashed his nerves down quite far and appeared completely relaxed and at ease. He did spare a glance at Jack, recognizing her as Ashe's friend, but then his gaze flickered to the female with the human and he felt a flutter of excitement. He had a soft spot for shalaya's, and this one was a rather gorgeous one! She had a tinge of green, and a murky gray shadowy color, and she... was she glowing? He couldn't remember if the other he had met had glowed, but this one certainly did. He gave Ashe a nudge toward Jack and walked over to meet her himself.
"Hello. I am Santiago. What is your name?"
Ashe rolled his eyes at the nudge, but went to stand by Jack. "Hey how's it goin! She's a beauty!" Ashe said the last bit about the draconic, hopefully softly enough they couldn't hear him.

Ivy touched her cheek a little when she saw the Makiyan and glanced over at the woman who came with her. She wasn't sure about this, how would their... No, that was much too forward, her brother told her to be demure and she believed him. Glancing down at the ground, she shuffled a little, and when he posed the question, Ivy's eyes lifted a little and she said simply, "I am Ivy, I am pleased to meet you."
Giving a little grin, Jack moved over to where Ashe was moving a little and then folded her arms over her chest, "Not bad, not bad. You? Yeah, she's a good girl, though her brother's a bit of a dick." The woman smirked a little as she glanced over at him, she wasn't surprised if she acted a little strange around Ashe, she hadn't seen him in quite some time and she was still confused about Nina.

Santiago took note of her shyness, something he recognized. He had been the first to be with the other Shalaya as well, and this one seemed to be just as innocent. He would definitely have to talk with Ashe, see if there was a word for someone who was continuously the other partner's first. But she was certainly adorable, and the shyness only added to it. He bowed his head lower when she said her name. "Ivy. A lovely name for a lovely dragoness." His first thought was: she's pretty! His second thought was: he had to get her away from the humans. He didn't want her worrying about her human, and he didn't want to be distracted by Ashe's presence. "I would like to get to know you better. Would you join me?"
Ashe chuckled. "Santi's a bit of a dick. Hopefully she's used to it then!" Of course, while Santiago could be a dick to Ashe, he would never treat a lady like that. "Is she glowing? Is that common with the Shayala breed?" Ashe had only encountered a few, but this girl was the prettiest do far.

Shifting from foot to foot, the Shalaya glanced over at the woman for a moment before smiling and giving a small nod, "Yes of course." She stepped forward a little and then looked around a little, wondering where they might go from here. It was at least something to do she figured, and she hoped that he wasn't put off by her inexperience for these kinds of things. Her brother... couldn't know everything, could he? She narrowed her eyes a little and shook her head before smiling again and giving off a low chuckle.
"Yeah, Lich fancies himself a bit of a leader. He's... deluded," Jack grunted, settling down on a nearby rock, folding her arms over her chest, "You know the basic Shalaya breed does right? About half of the ones I have at home glow as well, as well as a Lashak and a couple of Kitava thanks to their heritage. You've never seen it before?"

Pleased that she wasn't allowing her shyness to turn into clingy-ness onto the human, Santiago turned and led her off toward the caves. He didn't know these rooms as well as he would have fancied for himself, but he figured they would all be well suited for getting to know each other, and other activities that went along with that. He peeked in the openings, until he found one that he liked, and he led her inside. "This looks like a nice spot," he told her, gesturing that she should follow, with the tip of his tail. The inside looked as natural as could be; stone floor, some ledges above, a small spring in a corner for refreshment or swimming. Or cooling off afterward. But this one had some natural light filtering in from cracks in the high ceiling.
Ashe shrugged. "Do I look like a Shalaya kind of guy? Sparkles and glowing and small pretty dragons?" Ashe snorted. Jack surely knew him better than that! "Makiyan and Malavos is my way to go! So, are Shalaya your favorite breed?" He had always imagined something more earthy for Jack, but, well... Jack was kind of a jack of all trades. Perhaps all draconics too.

"Yes it does," she said with a little smile, inching toward the water a little and sniffing at it. She didn't swim, she wasn't sure she could swim at all, but at least it was an interesting place to be. Ivy glanced around and found a spot to settle in near the water and tucked her legs under herself, her glow becoming a little brighter without her noticing or meaning to. "It's nice to meet you," the Draconicess said, tilting her head a little at Santiago.
Snickering a little, the woman eyed him, "I don't know, you might be. I mean, I could see it. Don't you have some pretty pink ponies?" Jack gave a shrug and then rubbed the back of her head, "I rather like Lashak honestly, but any will do, you know?" He knew her better than that to know she didn't play favorites. At least... not too much to her knowledge.

Santiago watched her, trying to judge her mood, what he might need to do to woo her. She was here, so obviously she was open to the idea of doing things, but Santiago preferred them to want it. She still seemed nervous, and reserved, but polite and trying. He watched her caution around water, before getting comfortable. Close, but not touching it. He walked over, casual. Maybe if she saw he was relaxed, that would help her relax. She was repeating herself, which showed nerves. First time jitters. Santiago leaned in and took a drink from the spring, then he joined her, stretching his long limbs out, facing her. "Tell me about yourself," He prompted. "What's your life like? Family?"
Ashe snorted. "Let's not bring the ponies into a dragon conversation!" He protested. And her reply about Draconic breeds sounded just about right for Jack. 'Any will do' and 'all will do' went hand in hand with her! "I always kind of liked Lashak... I should get one myself. It just dawned on me, I don't think I have any that can fly..."

He seemed so sure of himself, just like her brother, and she raised an eyebrow ridge for a moment as she considered the similarities. She didn't want to think of that though, and shook her head a little as she looked him over a bit. This was going to be strange, she didn't know what to do with all of this, but hopefully things would be alright. Oh, a question? Ivy thought about it, tapping her cheek with a claw before answering, "I have a brother who lives at home with me, though he is a little obsessed with himself. We have quite an extensive cave system where we live, everyone gets their own hollow, and it's nice to be surrounded sometimes, though it is nice to be alone at time as well I suppose. What about you?"
Giving a laugh, she nudged him a little and then thought about it, "You don't have any that can fly? I find that really odd for some reason."

She spoke of surrounded, but only mentioned a brother, and by the sounds of it they weren't the closest. Santiago took this information in, using it to add to what he'd already learned about her. Which wasn't much, but every bit helped. "I love in a spacious cave system as well. I live with some Malavos - I wouldn't call them my siblings in the natural sense, but for all intents an purposes, we are family. They are brother and sister in every way that matters except maybe blood. And one of their kids." he didn't mention that his own daughter lived with him; she didn't need to be thinking about him being with other ladies right now. "I know what you mean, about enjoying being alone but also surrounded. Never a dull moment. I spend most of my time exploring with Ashe, so it never feels crowded. Oh, Ashe is my partner. The human."
"Me too..." Ashe confessed. This was troubling. "I'll have to fix it... I want a lashak of my own. Too bad they don't come in black, I'd take a dozen of those," he joked. How could he really not have a flying dragon?! He spent too much time climbing mountains with Santiago to miss it, he supposed.

Glancing out of the little room they were in, Ivy considered the woman who was the head of the family they claimed as theirs. She was an interesting woman, but hadn't taken one of them as her Bonded, at least not yet. Part of her hoped it would be her, as did all the others, but she really didn't think it would happen. There was an intensely odd thought about Bonding with a person at least that made her shiver a little, and it ran down her spine before she shook her head, trying not to think about it. "I'm glad you have a partner, but I don't believe that will happen with me. I am fine with this, however, I have my books and alchemy," she said simply, trying on a smile.
Giving another chuckle, Jack nodded, "Yeah, that sounds like you. I have several green, tan, and brown Draconics back at the caves, but I just can't seem to settle on one to bond with."

The Makiyan quickly caught on that the main thing she took out of his speech was about Ashe. Partner, bonded, whatever you wanted to call it - he and Ashe were together quite often. He was fine sharing Ashe with the little blue creature, too, but Santi hadn't quite bonded with that one yet. He figured life was better with a human partner in crime, though if he was being honest he didn't much remember a time without Ashe. He had hatched with Ashe right there, and lived with him, and bonding was just the next step so he never felt the disconnect she seemed to feel. "Most don't bond with humans," he said, trying to be helpful. It was hard to judge how she would react to this, however. "It's not like a... an end goal, for most. It doesn't mean they care for you any less, or that you aren't good enough. You just might not be a.." he searched for the right word or phrase. How did Ashe put it? "Matching soul. And that's okay. We are all different!"
"Just as green, tan and brown suits you!" He still thought of Jack as an earthy type of person, even if she went off and focused on other things instead of just sticking to one. "Anything else new, by the way? New nodes? New adventures? You seem to be walking better!"

Giving a slight nod, Ivy agreed. She wasn't upset that she wasn't Bonded, it was simply she didn't know what would happen if she didn't find someone to Bond with. A small frown crossed her face as she wondered what it would be like to Bond, but, then again, she enjoyed her freedom too much to let herself be bound to someone. It was a tricky thing, but she smiled at the male and bowed her head a little, "Yes, that seems to be the case. Make no mistake, I am not upset by this fact, it just seems odd to me. She hasn't Bonded with any of the family, which seems odd to us all really."
Jack smiled and looked down at her leg before rubbing it a little, "Yeah! I had an accident awhile back, a tree fell on me and shattered my leg and my Amphadron helped to fix it after it happened. Long story, I think someone else was there? But who knows, I definitely can't remember." A chuckle escaped her and she touched her node pouch, "Yeah! I have an order node now, actually. We really haven't seen each other for awhile, what about you?"
