"That's not odd at all. Most humans don't bond. There are not many of us bonded, you know. It is simply a partnership; when two parts of the same soul meet, a bond is formed. But you are your own soul, and live your own life as you please." Santiago was doing his best to keep up, but her back and forth was a little confusing for him. She had sounded like she wanted to be the chosen bond, now she didn't and just thought it odd. The bonding with Ashe was not something he had ever questioned before, so trying to say something now felt like a struggle for words.
Ashe stared at her. She just glazed over a story about her leg becoming fully functional again? Like it was nothing? "You mean to tell me, all this time, all your needed was some Amphadron magic?" Maybe it had been long enough for her that the wonder had worn off, but for Ashe, this was NEWS!
"I have another dark node and a chaos node... I think that's all the new ones I have since I talked to you last."

Smiling, the Draconicess shrugged a little and twitched her tail before staring into the water a little bit. She couldn't really swim, but that didn't bother her too much, she didn't really need to did she? Her tail flicked now in the other direction and she glanced back up at Santiago, "What do you enjoy doing?" It was a simple question, not meaning to pry, but at least she would learn a little bit more about him, if he was truthful. There was no indication that he wasn't truthful at this point though, it would seem, and she looked pleased no matter what the outcome.
Startled a little, Jack looked over at him and then rubbed the back of her head sheepishly, "Well I mean. The tree crushed my leg and I had to have it cut off. My Amphadron knows quite a bit of magic and can regrow limbs, apparently. Which... is what happened!" Her eyes lit up when he talked about the nodes though, "Ooh, those are the two I still need! Careful, I might have to invade." Jack winked, indicating the joke.

Santiago pondered this. He liked doing a lot of things, some of which he was still determined to do with her, but he wouldn't be able to say that to her and still get what he wanted, most likely. So he thought of things he did with Ashe, but what was his favorite? "I do like exploring with Ashe. The cave system, inside and out. I also enjoy fishing. Ashe takes it seriously, but for me it's either play with, or eat it." His tail flicked in the air behind him as he thought about Ashe reeling fish in, and trying to keep them away from Santiago. He wanted them for an aquarium, whatever that was.
"Well I'm glad your leg grew back healed! Maybe I ought to get me one of those, it could help me in my next, erm, task." not that Ashe had had anyone to reanimate recently, but he did have the goal going forward of perfecting the art. "Ah, yes. The two elements I'm most fond of working with. Water is fun, too, but you know me... paws off, lady!" he said with a laugh.

Hmm, he took a bit to answer, and what he did answer was about fishing. They didn't seem to have a lot in common, but he was nice enough and she flicked her tail tip as she tried to figure out what else to say. Ivy was a bright young Draconicess, but she seemed to be the same size at Santiago, was that a good thing or a bad thing? From what the others told her, it was a good thing, but she didn't know what the side eyes meant whenever they said it. Lowering her head onto her front paws, she stared into the water for a moment, trying to figure out what else to say. "I'm sorry, I'm not much of a conversationalist," she ended up apologizing with a sheepish look on her face.
"No joke," she agreed, folding her arms over her chest with a small yawn. She was tired, but there wasn't much she could really do about it at the moment. "Aw come on, I can't even borrow them?" Jack smirked.

He felt kind of bad suddenly, realizing he hadn't asked her anything himself in return. He had been thinking of the many things he enjoyed. "That's alright. What do you like doing?" He asked. He also wondered if he was bad at conversation, or if they just clashed this badly. He hoped part of it was due to her shyness, but that wasn't something he could just say. And, so far, he didn't have any long lasting friendships with anyone he'd met here, so he couldn't say they'd get more acquainted later. Tricky. He leaned in and gave her a flirty nuzzle. "Enough about me, I'd like to hear more about you."
"You just want to touch my magical balls, don't you? Maybe I can assist you someday, but you can't borrow, they're quite near and dear to me," he said with a smirk. Jack was lucky it had taken him this long to start.

Startled, Ivy stared at him when he nuzzled her a little. Ah, so that was it, was it? She shifted and glanced for a moment back at the entrance to the cave and wondered what was going to happen, and if this was the original idea. Something had told her to be a little wary, but Santiago seemed like a nice enough fellow, right? Much better than her brother was, who was a demanding, narcissistic asshole. Glancing back at him, she smiled a little and flicked her tail, "I read, along with my brother's mate and their son. They are both Shalaya like myself as well." Her eyes flickered toward the ceiling and then she closed her eyes, summoning up a few pretty little lights that flickered and spun, "I also enjoy magic. This is what I was born with, do you have any you could show me?"
Smirking as well, Jack looked at him seriously then and reached out to touch his shoulder, "I know they are, but you also have to remember, mine are bigger."

Wow, she really had never done this. Had never nuzzled or cuddled or even so much as touched another? In his experience, ladies had leaned into affection, but her shyness caused her to shift away from him. Noted. It was almost like she didn't want it, in which case it would not be fun for either of them... But why come here at all if she didn't? Was it her heart in a different place, a case of unrequited love perhaps? She seemed so distracted. "I have never tried to read," Santiago admitted. He wondered if he could pick it up. She was more clever than he, that was for sure, but he could accomplish many things, and surely reading was one of them! "I do like magic, though!" He turned his head up to watch the dazzling lights float around. He was trying to think of something that might impress her, but most of his magic was more...terror oriented. He and Ashe worked together on the roster, and neither of them were into cutesy displays. He pondered for a few moments, then he summoned some shadows. They appeared as shapes on the wall, exaggerated creatures like fish and bunnies. They jumped and swam on the rocks, then peeled off and made their way toward them.
Ashe stared at her, then glanced at her crotch, and back to her face. "You have balls?"

Ivy perked up at the shadows and she reached out to touch them, giving a small laugh. "You should try reading sometimes, it's a wonderful escape from life if something is tough going at the time. Sometimes it's the only way to cope," she told him with a smile, letting her lights die out as she sat up and looked around. She was a little braver now that they had shared magic, and she smiled happily, her glow brightening up a little as she looked him over for a moment. "I know I seem nervous, and I am. They explained things a little, but not enough to where I understand it quite as well as I would like," she finally admitted with a sigh.
Jack grinned and then laughed before plucking her node pouch from her belt, "I have more, and they're better than yours, definitely." She gave him a wink as she continued to laugh.

Santiago wondered what had happened in this lady's life to need to escape from it by reading books. He had never had a day like that where he needed to escape. The concept was foreign to him. He wanted to read to gain knowledge, or for fun, if he ever got the time to. When her lights died out, Santiago let go of his shadows, too, and they dissolved into a quick Mist. He looked up from the remains of his magic and caught her meaning quickly. "I don't expect you to know anything this time around. Don't worry, I'll teach you." He sensed a shift in the attitude of the room and felt he could press his luck. She seemed more receptive now. He nuzzled her again, pressing close. "I can offer some paws on experience. That's the best way to learn, after all."
Ashe scoffed at her and jokingly rolled his eyes. "Quality over quantity! You might have more, but mine are better for sure!"

Ivy gave a low chuckle and leaned into him a little, "I usually learn through my books of course. Hands on learning isn't horrible, but just not preferable most of the time. We'll see how this works out." At least she was willing to try she figured, though she knew nothing about children. Would she even take in some of them, if any? That was the issue she figured, and she fought to keep a frown off of her face as she thought about it. More to be corrupted by her brother, but at the same time, she could protect them, or at least she figured she might be able to.
Eyes flashing, she rolled the pouch around on her palm for a moment before giving a quick, dangerous grin, "Oh really? Do you want to test this theory, my friend?" She would be more than happy to, after all, it would be more than amusing.

"Oh, I think you'll prefer hands on learning for this...." he purred to her. He stroked her body with his own, nuzzling against her like a cat. He gave a few gentle nips here and there, playful and enticing. When he had her all good and wound up, though she might be more confused by what she was hopefully feeling at this point, he gestured toward the back of the cave, a slightly more private place. He wasn't sure how she felt about the humans being able to see or not; he didn't mind, but this was for her sake. And in this corner would be where the hands on lesson would take place, with Santi as a skilled teacher. Gentle, but firm and commanding.
"I've never seen you bring someone back from the dead. You don't have either of my main elements. I think that's a victory by default!" he laughed. He didn't care the same way she did. He had goals in mind, he wasn't a collector.
