After the acorn was picked, Zech stretched out as big as he could get and basked in the sun a little. There were more of them, to be sure, but he didn't feel they were ready to be picked just yet. He smiled a little and then curled up in the garden close to where the woman was working, she was making slow progress, but at least it was progress and he would move when she moved further down the line. She was about halfway done with the fence at this point, and she chuckled a little as she worked, wondering what else she might find in the gardens today, as though the acorn was no big deal. It was a huge deal, but she felt if she made it into a bigger deal than usual, then she wouldn't get any more of them. Maybe she was a tad superstitious, who knew.

A scent filled her nose as she moved on down the line, and she smiled as she breathed deeply so she could catch the scent again. It smelled like lavender, and Zech didn't seem to care about it one bit. Giving him a chuckle and a pat on the head, she moved so she could look around and see if she could find the lavender that was smelling so nicely. Jack finally found it a little further down the fence, two little sprigs of bright lavender, a beautiful color she needed to get a Pachee made from eventually, but at the same time that was a lot of Pachee she had gotten from the Pachee Pollen Project so far. While she loved the species and all, was she over doing it a little? Jack shook her head and pulled another section of the fence out of the ground, there was no way at this point.

Giving a yawn, Zech stood up again and moved down the line with her, she was almost done with the fence and then she could go around the perimeter and check all of that fence and repair what needed repairing. Jack rubbed her face with the back of her gloved hand to scratch at an itch and then smiled a little, she loved working in the gardens, and getting these items was worth it. She put the two sprigs of lavender in her bag, and caught a hint of yellow as she looked down a bit for no apparent reason. Aww, it was a dead flower, but it was a pretty flower, nice and yellow. Giving a chuckle she dropped it into her bag as well, might as well send this in too if she got enough of them, she'd already gotten one Pachee from these kinds of flowers, might as well continue.

At least it was a lovely day to be working in the gardens, she figured with a little smile as she added the little yellow flower to her bag. It could be a lot worse, it always rained a lot during this month, and she hoped that things would stay the same for awhile. On the other hand, as much as she was enjoying working in the garden, it wouldn't be bad for the rain to come anyway so the land wouldn't be completely dry during the time the crops grew. She sighed a little and then smiled at Zech, patting him on the head, she didn't know what to expect from people at the moment, but she was happy she could expect certain things from her Dragon Oak, big guy that he was. It was crazy to think how many huge animals she owned as well, and hopefully sometime soon she would be able to take advantage of that.

She was also pleased with the fact that she had gotten a magic acorn so far, and she hoped that things would be able to continue this way during the rest of the time he was harvestable. Jack pushed a hand through her hair and then pulled it back again, it tended to fall out when she worked hard when it was short like this, it didn't pull back very well, but well enough to keep it out of her face for awhile. She pushed through the work however, and continued to pull up the fence a little bit at a time, wondering when she was going to reach the end. Of course she could see the end, she only had a few sections left, but that didn't mean she couldn't be dramatic. She laughed as Zech wandered back over to her when he realized she had gotten so far away, and patted him on the cheek when he reached her.

Zech was a good boy, if a big boy, and she knew that things would work out between them eventually. He was big enough for her to ride if she wanted to, and she wanted to, she just hadn't gotten around to training him yet. There were too many things for her to train as it was, and she wondered what was going to happen if she ever got through her massive list at this point. Jack watched him for a moment or two curling up beside her, and then she refocused on the fences in front of her. Only two more panels to go and then she could figure out what to do with the other plot soon. Smiling, she hauled them out of the ground and then took a deep breath, she wasn't in as good of shape as she used to be, that needed to change here pretty quick.

Jack stood there and stretched out her arms and shoulders after she got the last panel up from the ground, it was already making for a long day, but she didn't know what else to do with her time today. Sure she had a lot of other things to get done, the time never was enough it seemed, but for now this is what she wanted to do. Poking around, she looked at something that seemed to glow a purple and picked them up. There were two sets of cherries just sitting on the ground, purple and everything! She chuckled and put them into her bag and then patted Zech on the back as she walked by him, startling him a little bit. He was ready to follow her, however, when she called him to start checking out the exterior fence to the new plot. It wouldn't hurt to check the whole thing though.

Whoever had owned this plot was a little old school, it seemed. Even the perimeter fence had been wrought iron, which stunk because her exterior fence was a white picket type fence. Oh well, she would start pulling this fence and replacing as she went. She nodded, patted Zech again to show she was still paying attention while she was there, and then left with her wheelbarrow for a little while. Zech stood there at the entrance, watching for her as the other animals and plants played around him, and wondered when she was going to come back. She had taken something with her though, that had to count for something at this point, he figured. She was coming back, she had to come back, and there was nothing that was going to convince him otherwise. Jack was going to come back, he knew it, and he wondered what was going to happen when she did.

Jack stretched out, she was starting to get a little tired, but that wasn't going to stop her from working on the fence. It had to match the rest of her fence, after all, and she might even go ahead and replace her own fence after this as well, just to make it all look good. Her fence had some wear and tear on it, it honestly wouldn't be bad to replace it at this point. She could either burn the wood or donate it somewhere else, she also wished she could use it for projects, but it just wasn't worth it at the moment. Oh well, it would all work out in the end, she probably wouldn't burn it, but put it on the compost heap and see if it would help it out, she could always fish it out later. She had her own personal one at the back of the garden now.

After she went out and got all the wood and nails she would need, she was greeted at the entrance by Zech again, making her chuckle a little. Whenever they were harvestable, the animals tended to seek a person out for a little relief it seemed, and he was still growing acorns of course. Honestly, she just hoped she would get a few more by the end of the season, and that the one she'd gotten so far wasn't going to be it this year. Oh well if it was though, it wasn't like she could do anything about it, if they didn't grow, then they wouldn't grow much and that was it. Jack wandered over to the beginning of the fence and started to pull it out a little, Zech watching in confusion. She'd already done all of that, why keep doing it anyway? It didn't occur they were two different things.

Zech was confused as to what she was doing, she'd already done this, so why do more of it? It wasn't that he didn't understand that they were different parts, he just didn't understand why she would want to take it down. He tilted his head and chirped a little bit, wondering what she was going to do and why, and he heard her chuckle a little bit as time went on. Jack just wanted to work, and so she dug out one of the panels before installing part of the fence already. She didn't want a huge gap the animals could run out of, she wanted them to actually enjoy living there, but not wanting to run out at the same time. It wasn't a prison, but it was an enclosure, they could leave with her at least. Jack knew she wanted to get Zech out one of these days, she just didn't know when.

As she worked she hummed a little and checked on Zech's acorns every now and then. They were starting to get bigger, but she doubted she would be able to pluck any of them anytime soon, the first one was just a fluke. She chuckled to herself and glanced over at him where he was inspecting the new fence. Sure, her two Dragon Oaks could do things with fire, but she really doubted they were going to try and take down the fence themselves. Maybe wrought iron would be better for that, but it was too late now. If the fence ended up breaking up, then she might replace it with that, but for now this is what she was going to do, and it only made sense. Jack popped her back a little bit and then smiled as the first section of fence was installed already. Good, not just forever to go, it seemed.

Zech just wished she didn't always work when she came to the gardens, but he could see why she did, this place was a disaster. Or at least, the new area was a disaster. He chuffed a little and then laid down next to her as she worked, but not where he was going to be tripped over or anything. The weight of the acorns was starting to weigh him down a little bit, but he didn't know if he could let her pick any or not. If she tried and he wasn't ready, he would most likely snap at her or run off for a bit it seemed, most likely the latter of the two options. Jack smiled down at him and patted him on the head, getting a chuff in response, she didn't know what he was thinking, but she was pleased that he seemed so comfortable around her now.
