Half-breed: Ni'Wanagi Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 25 mph Power Levels: 5 Special Requirements: None Notes: None Stamina: 5 Strength: 9 Resistance: 6 Dexterity: 3 Mentality: 2 Special Abilities: Chlorophyll, Hardy Moves: Root, Howl, Scratch, Overgrowth Size Chart Reference: 6 These animals are, to say the least, rather big, about the size of a large draft horse. While they do have the minor ability to absorb some nutrients from the soil, they must eat regularly in order to be healthy. They prefer meat, although will not say no to snapping at the occasional insect flying about their midst. They, like both Nyssa and the Vulticus, are social creatures, and do not enjoy isolation. They are fairly placid in nature, but have a temper if pressed. As one can imagine, they have a certain phobia of fire. Their 'branch limbs' are an amazing fusion of plant and animal biology. Blood does indeed run through them, though minimally, and they are covered in a very thick, rough bark-like skin. The over all limb is covered in very short, fuzzy fur, much like the 'velvet' of a deer antler, and sheds in winter. This animal is not particularly vocal, and will not bark nor howl; however, they have been heard snarling, and is said to have 'creaking' limbs when distressed or sick. While sturdy over all, they also have a bit of an awkward, shambling weight, due to the uneven size distribution of their limbs. They appear to walk with a near permanent limb, though not injured, to avoid having too much weight on their thinner 'branch limb' over a period of time.

Half-breed: Gallum Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 20 mph, 45 (flying) Power Levels: 3 Special Requirements: None Notes: None Stamina: 4 Strength: 3 Resistance: 4 Dexterity: 3 Mentality: 1 Special Abilities: Fly, Stone Skin, Physical Resistance Moves: Peck, Play Dead, Squirm Size Chart Reference: 4 The shell is not what is referred to as a true shell; it is a true part of the critter's anatomy. The inside of its shell is made up ribs and the creature's back bone; that being said, no, they cannot crawl out of their shells. However, they can poke their feathery head out- often, though, they choose to keep their heads withdrawn (which is done by contracting the spine, thus allowing them to pull their necks in) for protection reasons. They choose to fly from place to place, largely because it is a strain on their forelimbs to drag their bodies along without the help of hind limbs. One can always tell when they are irritated, as they lash their tail to and fro and make irritable whining sounds. When angry, they might swat out and scratch the offender with their paws- but when threatened or scared, they withdraw inside their shells and simply play dead. These are not particularly vicious creatures; indeed, they're fairly docile- if not social. They enjoy rodents and, oddly, bamboo.

Half-breed: Equillor Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 40 mph Power Levels: 4 Special Requirements: None Notes: Traditional (quad) Land Riding to ride Stamina: 5 Strength: 4 Resistance: 3 Dexterity: 5 Mentality: 3 Special Abilities: Cold Resistance, Light Resistance Moves: Claw, Buck, Icy Touch, Cure Size Chart Reference: 5 Equillor are funny little things in ways of appearance. They're the height of the average horse with compact, fluffy bodies and a long, fluffy tail. Their back legs have the bone structure of a horse, while their front legs are, well... A bit too thin and delicate. They have a difficult time of balancing their weight on their odd clawed feet, and when standing, tend to sit back on their hauches a bit more. They possess small, useless wings and tufts of feathers that cover their ear holes. In face, they are truely owl-like; they eat primarily insects, seeds, and the occasional strip of meat or rodent. They seem to have a bit of a magical curing touch in their horn (when they feel like it), and their soft fur allow them to get along well in cold climates.

Half-breed: Gallorex Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 40 mph Power Levels: 4 Special Requirements: None Notes: Exotic Riding to ride Stamina: 5 Strength: 5 Resistance: 3 Dexterity: 4 Mentality: 3 Special Abilities: Gleam Moves: Horn Strike, Peck, Blessing, Levitate Size Chart Reference: 5 The Gallorex are "one" with nature, and despite their compact little bodies, carry a bit of grace in their movements. Their thick, clawed legs cause a bit of a bouncy trotting motion as they walk. Gallorex primarily feed on strips of meat, vegetation, and seeds- largely the latter; meat is a once-and-a-while thing. In temperament, they are neither aggressive nor timid, though they rarely get into fights. When irritated they peck, nip, or shake their horns at the offender, and as far as vocalizations go, they possess all the noises of most birds- screeches, chirring, chirps, trills, etc. Their thick feathered chests and short fur also possess an odd little gleam, as if having a light all its own.

Half-breed: Salima Cunning: 4 Beast Average Top Speed: 25 mph, 20 mph (swimming) Power Levels: 3 Special Requirements: None Notes: None Stamina: 4 Strength: 5 Resistance: 2 Dexterity: 4 Mentality: 0 Special Abilities: Thick Fur, Fire Immunity Moves: Swim, Crunch, Tail Strike Size Chart Reference: 4 This experiment came with a bit of give, and a bit of take. On one hand, these creatures are extremely fast in the water, and can hold their breath for hours. They are amazing predators, preferring to stalk, strike, wrap around, then bite their prey's throat while simultaneously crushing them. While they cannot swallow prey whole, as a Salaves, they have a fully developed Jacobson's organ and can scent the air (and water) with their forked tongues. They even move decently on land; their muscular stomachs pull them along the ground, while their thin 'legs' assist in rough spots. All that is dandy; that's the 'give'... But here's the take: these creatures are an odd fusion between being endothermic and ectothermic- that is, warm-blooded, and cold-blooded. They cannot thrive in freezing waters or environments. Their thick mane protects their throats from attack and provides an intimidation factor, but does not warm the rest of their scaly body. While these creatures can survive colder temperatures than most reptiles, they are still victims to their environment, often needing to bask in the sun for periods of time. Thanks to their slow metabolism, they're also not extremely active. They are also territorial, and temperamental to boot!

Half-breed: Drejker Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 75 mph Power Levels: 4 Special Requirements: None Notes: None Stamina: 5 Strength: 7 Resistance: 3 Dexterity: 4 Mentality: 1 Special Abilities: Double-Headed, Bioluminescence Moves: Gash, Echolocation, Bite Size Chart Reference: 4 These are perhaps, in this modest scientist's opinion, one of the most amazing things the Labs have produced. As well as being surprisingly strong for their delicate body type, these beasts are fast. They don't seem to bicker with their extra head quite as much as many other lab creatures, though there is always a "dominant" one that will often nip at the subordinate one to reprimand and display dominance. Possessing dominance means that the head is allowed to chew and swallow most of their meat, and control the doings of their body. Dominance can change often; it's a matter of who wins the bite-fest or overpowers the other's nervous system. They glow using bioluminescent bacteria that have a symbiotic relationship with the main body of the creature. The areas the bacteria covers are specifically placed glands- what might have been used for signaling, if these creatures weren't so solitary and mean-tempered. As it is now, they are a decent indicator of the animal's mood, warning others to stay well away when angry. Drejker are entirely carnivorous, solitary, aggressive, and can use their echolocation to find their way through the dark- which is when they prefer to be active. Can you ride them? Well... there's no saddle that will fit them, but if you can squeeze between the smaller spikes higher up on the neck and back?.. go for it.

Half-breed: Verrel Cunning: 4 Beast Average Top Speed: 30 mph Power Levels: 3 Special Requirements: None Notes: None Stamina: 3 Strength: 4 Resistance: 2 Dexterity: 5 Mentality: 1 Special Abilities: Nightvision, Intimidation, Bloodthirsty Moves: Climb, Bite, Scratch Size Chart Reference: 3 Something wicked this way comes... No, really, these things are just kinda creepy. They're absolutely blind and without eyes in their sockets; instead, they have a single eye on their forehead. As a result of both the sensitive, open sockets and the fact they only have one single eye, they are extremely nervy about things being near or touching their heads. They also have a limited range of vision, being able to see only what is directly in front of them; however, they can see in the dark- which is when, by the way, they prefer to be active. While they enjoy company, their hyperaware states make them liable to snap at anything around them out of caution alone. It's suggested you verbalize frequently around them, to alert them of your presence. Sadly, the wings of a Lerrel were only partially passed on, leaving the arm of the wing, but no skin flap to glide from. However, when threatened, these creatures will still raise the 'arms' to make themselves appear larger, thus adding to their intimidating appearance.

Half-breed: Pumequin Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 40 mph Power Levels: 4 Special Requirements: None Notes: None Stamina: 6 Strength: 5 Resistance: 4 Dexterity: 3 Mentality: 2 Special Abilities: Fire Resistance, Shadow Resistance, Light Weakness Moves: Bite, Breathe Fire, Horn Strike Size Chart Reference: 4 Wow... Just.. wow... These experiments are a very successful mix of what we in the business like to call 'the rawr factor'. The size of your average muscular, reptilian horse, they are bonafide meat eaters, and are not picky where their meal comes from, be it a bunny or deer merrily running by, a fish in the stream, or a carcass on the road. They strip flesh off the body with their many shark teeth, tossing it back into their mouths and swallowing the piece whole. Despite their impressive bony crests and spiny protrusions, these are mainly used for intimidation. The preferred method of attacking is biting, 'shoving' with their muscular sides, and fire... Oh yes, fire- that vivid coloration appears to be a warning coloration of "Caution! Flammable and Hungry!" That being said, in combination to their size, they have few threats. They are not strictly social nor solitary, but be warned- if you strike them as food, they're entirely liable to take a snap at you. They're extremely warm to the touch, and have vocalizations that range from growls, to odd reptilian clicks and squawks, to full-blown roars. And while not fully aggressive, they have a bit of a wicked temper and are territorial, and their form of 'playing' could be fatal to a smaller playmate. Suffice to say, proceed with caution.

Half-breed: Philaru Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 25 mph Power Levels: 3 Special Requirements: None Notes: None Stamina: 4 Strength: 4 Resistance: 3 Dexterity: 3 Mentality: 1 Special Abilities: Stone Skin, Frenzy Moves: Tail Strike, Roar, Play Dead Size Chart Reference: 4 Oh, dear... Well, while these fellows are cute enough, it seems that crossing creatures with such drastically different personality programs is a bit... -cough-... consequential. Orbaru, designed to have the placid temperament of a stuffed animal (or perhaps a Disney character), being crossed with the very aggressive PHIL, has given a truly bipolar hybrid. Their moods are swift and unpredictable; not only will the Philaru get angry at small things, it will get angry at nothing sometimes for no reason, throwing literally roaring temper tantrums... In contrast to that, sometimes, even right after a tantrum, they will act as the most lovable, snuggly creatures in all of Pethia... Well, good luck. While smaller than a PHIL, these fellows can still pack a punch- you don't want to get clubbed with one of their tails. For protection, they may both curl into a small ball or, like an opossum, play dead.

Half-breed: Seekug Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 75 mph Power Levels: 6 Special Requirements: None Notes: None Stamina: 11 Strength: 10 Resistance: 5 Dexterity: 3 Mentality: 1 Special Abilities: Hardy, Intimidation, Run Moves: Cindering Breath, Horn Strike, Charge Size Chart Reference: 6 These things... these are interesting. They tower over most creatures, save for pure Gugs, Wiurn, and a select few others. Despite the graceful flow they seem to have, they are still not extremely agile- after all, they have a lot of weight to carry! Though they can get extremely fast... they just have to try to stay in a straight line. Turning and dodging can slow them up a bit. They have thick, smooth hides and a slightly splay-legged way of walking. They are powerful animals; a rare collecter's item- hey, I want one, anyway. But they're more than that- these creatures are efficient carnivores, capable of hunting down most all prey. They stalk the best they can if surrounded by foliage- and if not? They take off full-sprint to catch their target. It's thought that if you put them around Seekers, they could likely become "head of the pack" and manipulate the Seekers into following them- but they can do just as well on their own. If pressed they can chew on vegetation for nutrition, but this won't get them far... can you ride them? Well, there are spikes, but if you can somehow balance on that slope of their shoulder, go for it... but it's not really practical.

Half-breed: Faesca Cunning: 4 Beast Average Top Speed: 40 mph, 100 (flying) Power Levels: 1 Special Requirements: None Notes: None Stamina: 1 Strength: 1 Resistance: 0 Dexterity: 2 Mentality: 1 Special Abilities: Fly, Electric Resistance Moves: Telekinesis, Deceptive Lure Size Chart Reference: 1 While they appear delicate and pretty, these guys are far from being sweet little angels! They are, perhaps, the biggest trouble makes one could ever hope for. Though tiny, they make it a point to flutter annoyingly around one's face to get their attention- because, yes, this crossbreed will demand attention and pets. They don't care if you're making dinner, or reading, or bathing- they will get your attention. If one ignores them, they enjoy using their telekinetic abilities to throw stuff about or at others. As they lack hands or even paws, they also require help in their meals, and need help in peeling fruit and unwrapping sweets, both of which are their favored meals- particularly the sweets! As they enjoy eating quite frequently in small amounts, it's best to just leave out a bowl of peeled and chopped fruit and broken up candy. Despite their sometimes irritating habits, this crossbreed still has the capacity to be very loving, and enjoys just sitting with their owners, purring contently. Be sure to give them plenty of soft things to lay on, some yummy food, and the occasional (okay, constant) pets, and you'll have a happy Faesca.

Half-breed: Ghaenoko Cunning: 4 Beast Average Top Speed: 30 mph Power Levels: 2 Special Requirements: None Notes: None Stamina: 2 Strength: 2 Resistance: 2 Dexterity: 3 Mentality: 1 Special Abilities: Earth Resistance, Fire Weakness Moves: Scratch, Scamper Size Chart Reference: 1 Ghaenokos are gentle, pretty things. Rather than adopting the loner personalities of the Ghaenelt, Ghaenokos are eager to please and very obedient, doing their best to please their owners wishes- which, due to their high intelligence, they are quite good at discerning. However, while these crosses are gentle, they are also curious and will get into everything. They don't mean to knock things over or drag them off to hoard (which they can and will do, though their preference of items changes with each individual), but they will... Other than keeping an eye on this, Ghaenokos don't require a lot of care. A gentle word, some berries or wilted vegetables, and some water is all they need. Oh- and free reign of the outdoors. Don't keep your Ghaenokos inside, it will break their little hearts. They thoroughly enjoy just laying outside in the company of sunshine and plants, and like to dig- but don't worry, they only dig where it will help the earth and the surrounding plants. It's not uncommon to see one gently but diligently scratching around a flower bed.

Crossbreed: Vultirook Cunning: 4 Average Top Speed: 25 mph, 60 mph (flying) Special Requirements: Learns "Empathetic Link" at Loyalty 15 Size Chart: 5 Power Levels: 4 Notes: Gain loyalty at x2 speed Stamina: 5 Strength: 4 Resistance: 3 Dexterity: 4 Mentality: 4 Special Abilities: Desert-Dwelling, Commanding Presence, Fly, Fire Resistance Moves: Flame Bite, Howl, Silence Awkward at best and clumsy at worst, these odd halfbreeds can walk along the ground, though they're better off sitting in a tree or flying in the sky. They gain loyalty at a shocking rate, just like their Vulticus heritage, though much like their Alurook heritage, it will bond with their owners quicker than other animals as well.
