Half-breed: Talabex Cunning: 5 Sentient Average Top Speed: 40 mph Special Requirements: Level 5 (to train) Size Chart Reference: 4 Power Levels: 5 Notes: Cannot be used as mounts. Stamina: 6 Strength: 5 Resistance: 4 Dexterity: 6 Mentality: 4 Special Abilities: Wind Avatar, Prismatic Refraction, Adaptable, Nightvision Moves: Bite of the Divine, Mind Soothe, Sweet Song, Travel by Moonlight, Magnetic Pull Biology: Nearly every ancient civilisation has had some version of a 'sun bringer', and while these halfbreeds could easily make a lesser known group of primitive humanoids requestion the cosmic principles by their sight alone, they can be hardly called so divine. Not that they wouldn't mind that, being called divine that is.. In fact, flattery can go a long way, but not so much as to allow them to stoop so low as to be simple beasts of burden. They enjoy all that's beautiful and bright, especially if it happens to also been in darkness, being quite fond of starlight. Of their physical form, there's quite a few wondrous traits - swift feet that carry the wind, brilliant shimmers coming off of the very crystals which hover about them like mineral meteors caught in their gravity, and downy silken fur that seems unearthly soft. A lithe and elegant gait, though the head often tends to be held high. After all, the sun does not meet the ground except to sleep. This manner of distant, vague haughtiness can be troublesome for prospective trainers, who'll find they'll need to better understand the halfbreeds' perspective, before having any chance of having their own considered. Attentive trainers would then find that this loftiness isn't necessarily arrogance, and that the halfbreeds are just as likely to soothe ailing souls as to ignore them. Perhaps its just that their attention is so captivated by higher things that the small and earth-bound sometimes just.. goes under the radar.

Half-breed: Aestrum Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 40 mph (70 mph Flying) Power Levels: 5 Special Requirements: None Notes: Gains loyalty at half the normal rate. Stamina: 3 Strength: 3 Resistance: 2 Dexterity: 12 Mentality: 5 Special Abilities: Fly, Malleable Form, Water Resistance Moves: Aqua Mirage, Rainbow, Mist Burst Size Chart Reference: 2 Swift as a coursing river, these half-breeds are a class their own. Having nothing in the way of actual flesh, theirs is the ability to take on acrobatics far beyond the more physical creatures, while able to deform and bend around obstacles that come their way. As it stands, however, not all of their form is as malleable, and the armoured plating of their heads, wings and feet are very much physically real, while not the most attached. Their form is compromised by the sum of different parts, separate but operating in cohesion, and attempting to remove any one part from the other is like trying to pull an arm off of a person. Their wings allow for flight, though generally more in the forward-directional fashion than standing still, while the spheres at the base provide enough energy to funnel out most of their inner magics, the tails being a conduit for the rest.

Half-breed: Vulticor Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 35 mph Power Levels: 4 Special Requirements: None Notes: The move Mind Control ineffective on targets without eyesight. Stamina: 5 Strength: 5 Resistance: 4 Dexterity: 4 Mentality: 2 Special Abilities: Pack Instincts (Vulticus), Hardy Moves: Peck, Screech, Moonlight, Darkness, Mind Control* Size Chart Reference: 4 The black wolves among the.. well, other wolves. Though, to be more accurate, due to their latent ability to pry into the very will of anyone who looks into their eyes, whichever pack they come to call their own is more sheep than wolf to them. These crossbreeds have a latent ability to command others to do as they wish by eye contact alone and readily use this to form a barrier of other living beings around them, as a measure of protection - not unlike an insect queen - all the while keeping to shadows and veils as much as possible. Fortunately this seems more instinct than a measure of intelligence. Another curious instinctual impulse of theirs is to keep their heads covered by one form of cloth or another. Depriving them of a cowl can lead them to behave erratically and unpredictably violently. Physically they resemble more their Vulticus parentage overall, though the toes of the front feet are more graceful and defined, allowing for better grip of objects (such as cowls) than mere paws, while their tail sports a plume of feathers textured like felt. Small parts of their faces are covered in plating similar to a beak, which stretches through to the inside - these creatures' teeth are fused into two solid plates of bone, jagged in places for severing. And their eyes.. well, if only anyone could remember them. Shame there's a memory gap every time anyone looks..

Half-breed: Bastodon Nix Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 40 mph Special Requirements: None Power Levels: 7 Notes: Can only be used as mounts by child-sized characters. Stamina: 12 Strength: 9 Resistance: 9 Dexterity: 3 Mentality: 2 Special Abilities: Electrical Immunity, Commanding Presence Moves: Horn Strike, Fiery Soul, Electric Charge, Zap Size Chart Reference: 4 Biology: Ever seen that data-pad daily humour strip with the Pit fighter holding a red towel at a murp? The one where its eyes comically turn red and it goes charging? These crossbreeds take that kind of flash anger, mould it into a thunderous weapon of rampage and take it to a whole new level. A herd could overrun most defenses easily enough, which is a fortune that there exist only three of these creatures. Under normal conditions, prior to any triggering, these creatures seem calm and patience incarnate, to the point that most things attempting to intimidate or annoy them are merely brushed away with a physical nudge. This habit of applying physical force comes from their diet of minerals, with sediment rocks being the most common form of nourishment, while any stones touched by magic of any sort (such as something breathing fire on one) is considered a delicacy. These minerals help nourish both the creature and the crystallic formations along its body, forming a kind of symbiosis. The crystals, in turn, store all the residual magical energy, which the creature can convert into electricity. While these formations are actually pretty brittle, the hide of the creature's is thick and lined with enough muscle necessary for breaking down larger rocky outcrops they might find. But when their patience snaps, it snaps sudden, hard and with almost no warning.. An angry creature will then proceed to draw upon its energy reserves stored inside the crystals, boosting itself before unleashing a terrible bolt of electricity strong enough to fry most foes. Fortunately, this build up process takes some precious time, giving most unwilling targets ample time to retreat before being electrocuted.

Crossbreed: Phillor Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 20 mph (10 mph floating) Special Requirements: Level 5 (to train) Power Levels: 5 Notes: Float can be maintained indefinitely. Stamina: 7 Strength: 6 Resistance: 8 Dexterity: 3 Mentality: 2 Special Abilities: Psychic Resistance, Float, Thorny Body, Bioluminesence Moves: Bite, Claw, Body Slam, Ker-zaap, Bathe In Light, Glass Spear Size Chart Reference: 4 Biology: Achieving the perfect balance between volatile static and unstable brain energy was no simple task where these crossbreeds were concerned. It certainly took a few tries to get a result which didn't implode hours after creation. The success is largely attributed to the distribution of this amalgamated psycho-electric energy into the skeletal structure of the creature, placing it across a wider spread of its body, which, coincidently, also caused any and all bone structures it would have (visible or otherwise) to radiate. Due to it constantly shedding off excess energy in small particle quantities, these creatures are able to forego the usual sense of gravity and hover a few feet off the ground. In fact, given their otherwise somewhat lumberous and plated bulk, they even prefer it. This has also been adapted into hunting strategies, where the more traditional stalking and wearing down of prey is replaced by simply falling upon them - most sizeable prey animals simply do not realize to look up. Aerial movement is not quite the same as manoeuvring, however, and these creatures may find themselves outclassed against other winged creatures - the bony proto-wing structures along their side and back allow them alterations in course, but are otherwise rigid. Fortunately, although slightly brittle, the psycho-kinetic energies coursing through them usually makes short repair work of any protrusions that end up broken.

Crossbreed: Trick Tide Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 20 mph Special Requirements: None Power Levels: 6 Notes: None Stamina: 10 Strength: 5 Resistance: 8 Dexterity: 5 Mentality: 2 Special Abilities: Thorny Body, Double-Headed, Lifeless Moves: Venomous Bite, Hydro Shell, Hidden Mist, Wave of Muck Size Chart Reference: 5 Biology: You ever hear of that urban legend, about the person who drowned in an ambiguously descriptive pond in the City, for one reason or another related to a water spirit, varied accounts of years back? And how that spirit is said to haunt it's depths still? Of course no-one truly believes such superstition.. Although, with these creature lurking the waters, perhaps its better to keep a closer eye on the deep darkness.. They have no breath to take any more, and so have little concerns for breathing, which is just as well since their ability to swim innately is severely lacking. Neither are they able to become airborne, as the watery formations resembling wings are actually used more as a shield and cannot truly carry the weight of their body. This bothers them little, as crawling along the bottom of the pool works much more to their liking. Truth be told, there is little 'body' to go with these particular crossbreeds, as nearly half of it is compromised of water trapped between a mish-mash of plant-based filaments, occasionally anchored to a part of a skeleton. Whether its the water, the plant or the bone which houses the awareness of the creature is anyone's guess, but a certain fact is their innate crave or need for a water source, which replenishes their own bodily reserve. These pools, ponds or even parts of lake, when chosen, will become their undisputed territories, which will be defended against any contenders, large or small. Only those truly trusted are allowed close or into these ponds, if not used to protect and hide those they are loyal to from harm. Unfortunately, much as the story went, these benevolent spirits do not quite understand the need for breathing air..

Crossbreed: Fadewalker Cunning: 5 Sentient Average Top Speed: 40 mph Special Requirements: Level 5 and Loyalty 7 (to train) Power Levels: 5 Notes: None Stamina: 6 Strength: 0 Resistance: 4 Dexterity: 7 Mentality: 8 Special Abilities: Float, Forest Dweller, Ethereal Moves: Ethereal Claw, Dodge, Shadow Strike, Vanish Size Chart Reference: 4 Biology: Difficult to pin down and even more difficult to keep in check, these forest spirits given ghostly form have a mind of their own.. Very literally so. Few enough creatures are out there with a sense of self-awareness beyond the instinctual "food, sleep, reproduce" and these come with a neat little intellectual package that includes opinions. On the outside they may seem aloof and disinterested, but that's mostly because they see little interest in having company that still totes around a physical form. After all, its not like walls or doors could verily hold them and the complaining of physically-abled bodies grows tiring very quickly. That is not to say they do not enjoy company, far from it, said company merely has to get used to the unpredictable nature of these minds. Boredom is, in essence, a death sentence to their patience. Because of this it is not uncommon to see will-o-wispy pieces of them float within vicinity, being consumed and resumed from the very same essence they themselves are made up of, as a means of an entourage. While their otherworldly nature leaves them a few existential levels above normal people, with a little work and effort, their trust can be gained with enough small tokens of action, rather than words.

Crossbreed: Tat-lor Cunning: 5 Sentient Average Top Speed: 30 mph, 50 (flying) Special Requirements: Loyalty 7 (to train) Power Levels: 5 Notes: Grows loyalty at half the normal creature rate. Cannot be used as a mount. Stamina: 5 Strength: 5 Resistance: 4 Dexterity: 6 Mentality: 5 Special Abilities: Amphibious, Wind Avatar, Commanding Presence, Lone Wolf (Tat-lung, Gallor) Moves: Claw, Grace, Judgement, Holy Shield, Shadow Protection Size Chart Reference: 4 Biology: Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall, and these creatures have plenty of all three.. and perhaps just as well, as they may need it. In part, the prideful nature is a manner of defence against their kin, as neither tat-lung nor gallor seem too accepting of their being - for one, they look much too different to become a part of the pack; for the other, they may look the part quite well, but the scent they carry is different, strange, unnatural.. Save for the truly mellow of either kin, these crossbreeds shield themselves from the scorn of both, an inner spirit fuelled by a need to appear above their kin's sense of convention. At times this prideful nature tempts them into becoming arbiters for their own causes, extending one hand with which to shield, the other with which to bring retribution, ever in need to prove themselves as more than an experiment created from science and magic. But, when such proudness gets mixed with too much of the bitterness that comes with, there is little telling who they consider ally or enemy, or indeed, if they consider anyone allies at all.. Perhaps it is true, that at their happiest, they are alone, secluded in their own space, with their own affairs, gazing into the soul spheres as they untangle sweet little mental knots of thought that so few could ever hope to see, much less overcome.

Crossbreed: Haoposaur Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 20 mph, 50 (gliding) Special Requirements: None Power Levels: 5 Notes: None Stamina: 4 Strength: 5 Resistance: 5 Dexterity: 6 Mentality: 5 Special Abilities: Glide, Bioluminescence, Prehensile Tail Moves: Arid Bite, Climb, Shimmer, Poison Sting, Wind’s Blessing Size Chart Reference: 4 Biology: Chitter and active fellows, these crossbreeds could be considered masters of the air in every way except speed, for indeed, mastery comes from something far more skillful than merely having better physical limits. They quite enjoy heights and even prefer climbing over staying close to the ground, regardless of whether the climbed object be tree, cupboard or lamp post. Being omnivorous, there is likewise little objection to the types of food found at the heights of places, though they are not much for hunting anything specific down, preferring to scavenge. By and large they are mostly solitary, more out of habit than reason, but tend to best natural predators with colouration and a distinct mobile advantage. Upon becoming aware of a hunter, they brighten up the markings along their body, while extending the external thumbs as wide as possible to expose the vibrant colours of the skin folds - both a measure of dissuasion as well as a warning that the barbs along their body are anything but nice.. Should that fail, they most literally take flight, bending wind and grasping tail to take corners and paths their predators would surely have difficulty manoeuvring.

Crossbreed: Poofasaurus Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 30 mph Special Requirements: Loyalty 5 (to train) Power Levels: 4 Notes: None Stamina: 5 Strength: 4 Resistance: 4 Dexterity: 4 Mentality: 3 Special Abilities: Stone Skin, Thick Fur Moves: Bite, Silence, Sweet Scent (Sweets) Size Chart Reference: 6 Biology: As a great tumaian general once said, "Well, you can't win them all." even if genetic sequencing is generally supposed to be a pretty exact science. While dominating to look at (and, really, you can't miss them) these half-breeds are a bit of a natural, uh.. a natural.. they're natural. One could almost make them out to be excellent survivors, with an extremely thick and heavy coat of fluff that both protects from the cold, as well as gives any predators a run for their money (or more accurately, teeth) before managing to gnaw through both that and skin to the good stuff inside. They have an excellent centre of gravity - mostly because a lot of them tends to gravitate towards the centre - and a calm, attentive disposition because what doesn't give up on biting them can simply be rolled over on. To new trainers, its important to make sure they know you enough to recognise you (and thus not roll on accidentally) before any training can begin. And that's where survivalism seems to end and a fellow named Darwin's nightmare begins. Both their arms and wings are mere nubby little things, which see rare use, except perhaps in nudging themselves forwards in said rolling motions. The tail doesn't need to do too much work for balance and thus is likewise shorter and less effective at being used offensively. Their eyesight isn't all that great, largely due to the fluff covering most of their field of view, though a bit of shearing and trimming could help fix that for an amount of time. But, beyond that they are large, rather wide and with good backs - excellent for mounted travel.

Crossbreed: Leviathan Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 40 mph (swim) Special Requirements: None Power Levels: 7 Notes: None Stamina: 12 Strength: 6 Resistance: 8 Dexterity: 4 Mentality: 5 Special Abilities: Aquatic, Commanding Presence, Iron Will Moves: Frost Bite, Mind Rot, Roar, Prismatic Light Size Chart Reference: 6 Biology: Large and majestic, these creatures are certainly imposing to behold, and while parts of them seem to have a wisp-like grace and elegance, a beguiling frailty so to speak, they are certainly not ones to be pushed around. Being completely water-bound, there is the matter of pressure related to their bulk-to-depth ratio, but thankfully nothing a slightly deeper swimming pool couldn't fix. They are certainly not too keen to be close to the surface for long, which is just as well, as their beauty truly shines when their fins and frills have the water-space to drift and float - not unlike wings - an image which is only boosted by the shimmering display of colours along their whole body. While not bulky and strong like their thundergug and wiurn parentage (or shape-semblant pliathor) the half-breeds defend themselves with far subtler methods. Their gaze, if held long enough, can wither the minds of their opponents, while the colours along their body can be made to dance to an unseen shimmer of light, usually quite mesmerizing.. A dance which they sometimes may preform to those they care about, but with far more soothing effects in mind, than harmful.

Crossbreeds: Kitsunobi Cunning: 5 Sentient Average Top Speed: 50 mph, 40 mph (gliding) Special Requirements: Loyalty 5 (to train) Power Levels: 4 Notes: None Stamina: 3 Strength: 2 Resistance: 2 Dexterity: 7 Mentality: 6 Special Abilities: Danger Sense, Glide, Nightvision Moves: Nether Claw, Wind Burst, Shadow Meld Size Chart Reference: 3 Biology: With a mind entirely their own the first task of any owner will be to learn and study these steel-minded individuals, in order to come to understand both them and each other. There is a sense of honour that goes far too deep to be rooted out by neither training nor loyalty, and its to make a kill as clean and swift as possible. To spill even a single drop of blood in the process is considered foul and shameful, which is why they often take careful precaution to extremes, willing to lie in wait of the shadows for hours and even days on end, if it means being able to swoop from the darkness, carry out the deed in one swift movement, and disappearing before the prey can scarcely react. This mastery and obsession, thankfully, is limited to hunting, leaving them to be rather quiet and calm-mannered for the rest of the time. With their perceptive and attentive natures, it is an enjoyable past-time to observe others around them, training their minds further to notice small ticks of movement and emotion which might bely aspects of the subject not otherwise visible. Sadly, being silent (and arguably even mute) they do not make for very good conversation partners and most of what they come to learn in their meditative scrutiny remains for only them to know.
