Crossbreed: Draenix Cunning: 4 Beast Average Top Speed: 25 mph, 70 mph (flying) Special Requirements: None Power Levels: 4 Notes: Loyalty 10 (to train) Stamina: 7 Strength: 5 Resistance: 2 Dexterity: 5 Mentality: 1 Special Abilities: Lava Bathe, Fly, Intimidation Moves: Arid Bite, Explosion, Regenerate, Infernum Size Chart Reference: 4 Biology: They are fire, they are death, and quite prickly about their sense of honour to boot. Its no small feat to win the favour of one of these embodiments of mayhem and fire, for they seem to be able to (quite literally) go off at the smallest spark. Still, their sense of honour should not be confused with true intelligence, at least not the kind commonly known in their tat-lung parentage - the half-breeds are quite intelligent, clever even, but are solely focused, or perhaps trapped, along a singular mindset, leaving them little care or reason to learn things beyond it. What sort of mindset? Well.. They have an obsession with fire, with ruin and the chaos that comes with both. Immersed in such environments they feel a sense of liberty and intoxication. Outside of it, that streak of honour keeps their urges in check, but only barely.. Give them the slightest of reason to unleash and it may very well be they will not stop until spent. As such, all owners are highly advised to bond with their half-breed early on, for a bond of loyalty gives them further reason to remain composed. On the physical side, there is not much miraculous (beyond the wings) - their bodies lithe, their claws sharp, their sight excellent and their demeanour imposing to behold, to be sure. If anything, it's regrettable they inherited no scales, leaving much of their hide and form rather soft. But the wings.. oh such arcane wonder! So much of their fiery, ruinous fury came to be that their bodies could not fit it all, and some coalesced into physical manifestations - solid fire, smoke and ash. It has been observed that in the moments leading up to their greatest weapons being used the shape of these wings waver, their surface seeming to crackle and destabilize, before the searing flash. Indeed, any half-breed who still survives using their explosive ability will be left standing with much smaller remnants of their wings, and unless properly healed, it could take a couple of hours for them to regain their original size. Beyond that, the change of shape or intensity of colour is usually the first sign of them beginning to let go of that precious sense of control.

Crossbreed: Salossle Cunning: 4 Beast Average Top Speed: 45 mph Special Requirements: Level 5 (to train) Power Levels: 7 Notes: None Stamina: 7 Strength: 10 Resistance: 9 Dexterity: 7 Mentality: 2 Special Abilities: Physical Resistance, Hardy Moves: Sickle Claw, Vice Grip Size Chart Reference: 5 Biology: If you want a sturdy mount, get a thundergug. If you want a super-sonic mount, get a vespa. But, if you find yourself in need of both and wish to ride through the countryside in considerable style then these crossbreeds are certainly up to the task! With their segmented bodies and dozens of feet, there is really never any actual point in time where they don't have any purchase on whatever surface they are crossing. Even if one part of the body slips, the rest clamps down onto rock, tree, gravel, soil, sand or what-have-you, until the faltering side recovers and they can continue on their merry way. Be it vertical, horizontal, right-side-up, up-side-down or anything in between, these half-breed are sure to find a way along it. Whether their rider has the strength to hold on, however, is a completely different matter, although the usual golossle saddle should fit them well enough. Beyond their ability to effectively ignore terrain, these creatures are incredibly sturdy. The backplates of the their shell are almost metallic to the touch, a fair gift from their golossle blood, and the scaled fleshy parts underneath are not so tender as one might think, either. They can, however, be a little bit too 'huggable' in their nature, and as such a good trainer must first learn how to avoid the snatching motions of their creature before proceeding, unless they wish to have a few broken bones.. Those legs of theirs may seem spindly, but beneath are intricate structures of indoskeletal muscles that can easily clamp around most prey, each leg added to the hold to increase the strength of the grip until the life is choked from the victim and feasting can calmly begin.

Crossbreed: Juggernaut Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 40 mph Special Requirements: Level 5 (to train) Power Levels: 7 Notes: Dexterity is 6 when attacking. Stamina: 10 Strength: 10 Resistance: 8 Dexterity: 3 Mentality: 1 Special Abilities: Commanding Presence, Stone Skin, Iron Will, Run Moves: Charge, Bash, Roar, Solidify Size Chart: 4 Biology: Ever tried punching a freighter train? You might as well, if you're standing face to face with these creatures. Not that it does you any good in stopping them, but it would be a tiny moral victory all the same. They are very much all beef and muscle (and plate and shell), straight-forward to a most literal degree and not the easiest nuts to crack. The plating along their back is tough enough to be almost impervious to most physical damage, and they readily use this advantage to go into a charging run, not so much to impale foes on the spiked ends as just to crush their very bones. Indeed, a right proper trained could easily utilize them for construction work - give them a good enough stretch to get a running start and they'll have houses and gates down in short order. Still, as tough and strong as they are, they're still specialized towards forward momentum, leaving them somewhat stumbling on their feet when it comes to turning around. The heavy plating about their front leaves their head almost immobile, save for up and down movement so as they could eat (grasses and plants on the ground), and the only truly flexible part is the wrecking-ball-tipped tail. This issue with finesse can leave these half-breeds in something of a pickle should they charge a foe, only for the target to side-step out of the way. Their plating may be thick and heavy, but their ability (or lack of) to turn may yet decide the course of the battle.

Crossbreed: Lurking Strife Cunning: 5 Sentient Average Top Speed: 20 mph, 30 mph (flying) Special Requirements: None Power Levels: 2 Notes: None Stamina: 2 Strength: 1 Resistance: 2 Dexterity: 4 Mentality: 1 Special Abilities: Mechanical Mind, Gleam, Fly, Mimic Moves: Light Spear, Shadow Strike, Vanish Size Chart: 2 Biology: Out there, where skies shine, humanoids say: 'To thyself be true.' Down below, the familiars say: 'Be true to yourself and to hell with the world.' These shadow-light clad and diamond-shelled half-breeds find themselves stuck deciding between the two, dipping back and forth between self-preservation and self-sacrifice, a choice made all the more difficult when swaying the favours and opinions of others comes so simple. They are not large and by no means sturdy in build, despite the gemstone plating they bear in place of armour, which would explain why entities such as themselves would choose to opt for self-preservation, a necessity, rather than merely a conscious decision. Still, for all they seem frail, they've tricks up their diamond-covered sleeves that can make them anything but easy prey. These half-breeds seek company, whether that be an adopted colony of mining familiars or that of humanoid owners, and whichever they end up choosing they will learn the voices and sounds of in time, in order to communicate with the collective. When finally settled in a place they could call their own, they shall sooner opt to protect it than abandon, becoming flickering figments of vision, darting and bending light and shadow to nip at opponents much larger than themselves in swift movements, before retreating out of harm's way. To the humanoids they might seem like intelligent children, but to a pack of familiars and other tunnel-dwellers, their brilliant, unbent minds could make them truly queen.

Crossbreed: Comandrake Cunning: 5 Sentient Average Top Speed: 30 mph, 80 mph (flying) Special Requirements: Loyalty 10 (to respect) Power Levels: 7 Notes: Cannot be used as mounts. Stamina: 10 Strength: 10 Resistance: 7 Dexterity: 6 Mentality: 2 Special Abilities: Fly, Hardy, Refined Senses, Commanding Presence Moves: Breathe Fire, Power Steal, Maul, Heat Wave, Gale Winds Size Chart Reference: 5 Biology: ..Much like the men of the highlands, there can, apparently, only be one. It wasn't long after their creation that something seemed to transpire in the labs that left one sibling literally vanished into thin air, and the other carrying around a somewhat suspicious claw token.. Oh well, it's probably fine. Dragons are fickle but exceedingly powerful creatures at the best of times and while thesethis half-breed isn't nowhere near a 'true' dragon (a point which can bring sore but swift retribution if mentioned), they are none the less formidable. Roaring pines and moaning winds, with trees blazing in the night aside, these half-breeds are exceedingly cunning to a point of having almost militant stratagem. Sufficed to say, they lament the baseness of other creatures (and sometimes humanoids) for their inability to understand and interpret all this wisdom and greatness, as sadly they can but speak the hiss and roar of dragon-tongue. What they lack in communication, however, they are more than aptly able to make up with basic power displays sure to cow even the most stubborn of creature into sub-servitude to them (as it is hard to argue against fire and brute force). These kinds of 'bound' creatures often form a pack about their person, only slightly short of an army, but most certainly short of any true sense of loyalty or even a measure of cohesion. The halfbreed could sooner find their subordinates fleeing a field of battle than stand by their side, but a more clever one might find humanoids somewhat.. better stock for lording over. Provided they prove their mettle first.. No matter the degree of loyalty a humanoid has to them, however, they are their own lords and though they may find the being entertaining and beneficial, the degree of individuality is so strong that these creatures would never allow themselves to be turned into mere 'pets'. As such, it will be a cold day in the Maw before one of them would accept a rider on their backs or a collar around their neck.

Being small and with an affable disposition, they're considered largely harmless, except perhaps to even tinier little lizards that they so enjoy to hunt and eat (probably because of the long-distance relation to sarane). Chipper and active, they can make fine companions, though may be in need of some lessons on manners, or merely restraint - the beings or creatures they take to playing with may not always be the most patient of mind, after all.

Crossbreed: Seryspa Cunning: 5 Sentient Average Top Speed: 15 mph, 60 (flying) Special Requirements: From Loyalty 5 onwards gains loyalty at twice the normal speed. Power Levels: 4 Notes: None Stamina: 2 Strength: 2 Resistance: 4 Dexterity: 6 Mentality: 6 Special Abilities: Fly, Wind Resistance Moves: Nibble, Deceptive Lure, Prismatic Light, Bound Size Chart: 3 Biology: Ever wonder if you can paint with all the colours of the wind? These half-breeds can give you inspiration for quite the palette, provided you're quick enough to catch a glimpse of them. It's not necessarily shyness that sees them keep out of sight from strangers, but more a sense of preservation - they are rather frail for their size and most of their abilities are centered around avoiding a fight than winning one. Beyond that they tend to be aloof and affable, once its been determined a particular person or creature is not a threat. There's considerably more of their seryn parent in their nature than the bloodthirsty drake-hunting vespa, though the latter is what has made them the nimble darters through the air, trails of multi-hued light reflecting off of their gemstones and wings. One just has to gain their trust to see such sight, but once its achieved, it's a bond truly for life.

Crossbreed: Stormera Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 50 mph, 60 (flying) Special Requirements: None Power Levels: 4 Notes: None Stamina: 6 Strength: 4 Resistance: 3 Dexterity: 5 Mentality: 2 Special Abilities: Float, Double-Headed (x2) Moves: Envenom, Harsh Gust Size Chart: 3 Biology: A veritable storm of claws, these halfbreeds have a difficult time seeing eye to eye with their own selves as each head vies for supremacy over the others, seeking control over the body as one being. Certainly, all heads have command of limbs and movement in equal measure, the struggling between the different pulls generally off-setting one another enough to allow them to walk and move without much difficulty and in the (overall) general direction, though honestly they much prefer to float than drag their feet and body along the ground. Given enough practice, it may even very well work to get their body to remember how to fly proper. Physically, the body is formed of wispy, soft down-like material that is best described as solidified air. While it allows the creatures to make some adjustments to their physical form, they still lack the arcane strength to alter themselves greatly. Their sustenance comes between a mixture of absorbing air currents and eating meat. Though conflicting and ever at odds with one another, one should truly fear moments when all the heads find common cause, as usually these halfbreeds become their most terrible and potent in such instances.. Much of the consciousness is divided into parts between the four heads - the pronged ungulate is boisterous and loud, with a tendency to guarding as well; the maned lion is fierce and terrible, yet cautious and cold; the fanged wolf is swift and cunning, but rash; the last head tends to slumber and rest, saving much of the energy that the other three spend. And should it stir, well.. You do not want to wake the dragon.

Crossbreed: Lyrebard Cunning: 4 Beast Average Top Speed: 20 mph, 50 (flying) Special Requirements: None Power Levels: 3 Notes: Gains loyalty at half the normal creature rate. Stamina: 3 Strength: 4 Resistance: 2 Dexterity: 4 Mentality: 2 Special Abilities: Fly, Speak, Loosen Feathers Moves: Sweet Song, Phase Out, Shred Size Chart: 3 Bfomf. There's a spot of colour right there, between those branches. Bfomf. Oop, now it's gone. Bfomf.. And so on and so forth. These half-breeds give patience a run for its money, assuming your plan happens to involve trying to capture them. It is not shyness that makes them so elusive and fleeting, but something much more.. human than that - they just don't like anyone all too well. While more closer to the smarter classes of animals than the intelligence of humanoids, they make do with what cleverness they have, which tends to be plenty enough to leave many a person absolutely frustrated in the middle of the woods, as they spin and twirl through the invisible ether to new locations, take flight to heights far out of reach, explode into a disorienting flurry of feathers when even so much as touched or merely lulling their pursuers to sleep. First and foremost, it should be said that while they have the vocal capacity for learning words, they do not have the degree of intelligence for comprehensible speech. Most chatter learned would be simple single- or two-word phrases intended to convey their thoughts or current moods. Even so, they would much rather learn and mimic the bird songs of the forest, their preferred environment, or formulate strange new words when communicating with one another. Physically, they are certainly on the frail side (especially the fae-membrane forming the primaries on the wings), which isn't to say they are harmless when on the offence - the claws might be small, but sharp enough to cause some serious damage when applied to just the right places. And they know a lot of soft places to rake them into. The most striking feature, however, are the patterns of eyes dotted all over their body, the most along the soft, airy down of their undercape, intended to disorient and confused beast and humanoid alike. It doesn't help that the center dots are known to shift and move, as if turning the focus of a hundred gazes on just you.

Half-breed: Kyotsu Cunning: 4 Beast Average Top Speed: 30 mph Special Requirements: None Size Chart: 3 Power Levels: 3 Notes: None Stamina: 4 Strength: 4 Resistance: 3 Dexterity: 3 Mentality: 1 Special Abilities: Adaptable, Opposable Thumbs, Magical Moves: Agony, Roar There are times where something that goes incredible wrong can turn out to become incredibly right and these half-breeds are an example of that. When a basic biological blueprint of a fairly common-appearing creature suddenly mutates and erupts with crimson miasma that envelops it in silken swirls of living, flowing fur, one would consider the project a disaster and failure.. however, when the crimson miasma takes control of the flesh like a silken puppet and exhibits a degree of intelligence.. well, then its just another field day for the R&D department! Although observed as separate, the miasma and body are proven to have fused into one singular entity. Whether the 'malevolent spirit' inhabited the body prior or merely gestated until the proper time is both unknown and irrelevant, primarily because the definition of 'malevolent' is inaccurate - these creatures move and behave like any normal humanoid animal, save for a single shard of intelligence that governs their drone like approach to others. Namely, they protect those shown to display affection and empathy, bristling and attacking anything that seeks to disrupt it or harm that subject. And what terrible wildcards they are.. No two (nor four) of the crossbreeds may be alike, as their miasmic quality leads them to be quite adaptable to a number of environments, while the spectral lantern floating around them is the foci for their spells as well as their energies. They do not eat, as the large gaping maw of their upper chest is reserved strictly for stunning their targets vocally, rather instead absorb arcane energies from their lanterns as means of sustenance. The lanterns can hold only so much of the energies, so a particularly hungry half-breed or a session of heavy spell-use will see the lantern's light dim and fade, in need of time to regenerate before its energies can be re-used. They have five eyes total, two to each side and one in the middle of the face, though never are all in use (and some postulate that the open position of the eyes is directly related to the kind of spells being cast). Though equipped with hands similar to humanoids and the miasma of their back that could wrap around lighter objects, they boast but a single claw on their thumbs, but one that is laced with a most virulent toxin and used only in dire need.. All in all, for all they look the horror and terror, they are quite benevolent as they only strive to guard those with pure of heart and soul.. one just has to be sure to avoid deceiving them, for should all five eyes be turned upon the poor wretch and their sins laid to bare, there is little to hold them back from wrath.

Crossbreed: Star Snitch Cunning: 4 Beast Average Top Speed: 10 mph, 40 mph (flying) Special Requirements: None Power Levels: 2 Notes: None Stamina: 2 Strength: 1 Resistance: 0 Dexterity: 3 Mentality: 4 Special Abilities: Fly, Gleam, Super-Luck Moves: Flash, Crescent of Light Size Chart: 1 Biology: Some would say they would rather be lucky than good any day, and such people.. usually are. In that aspect these half-breeds are not all too different. While their faeron brethren are known to be one of the toughest little fairies in existence, these took more after their other parent in the survivability department. Which is to say they live by the philosophy of 'if at once you don't succeed, warp reality in your favour'. Although not physically impressive and a long shot from being battle-ready, these creatures can none the less become quite affectionate and playful companions, helpful in other instances. The luck is sure to rub off on anyone who treats them right and proper, and their average intelligence can make them quite apt at learning a trick or two around the kennel. Small enough one could almost mistake them for a broad leaf from behind, except the leaf is nearly iridescent and, well, blue-ish purple (hint: most leaves are not). There-in lies a little of their chippery nature as they love to play with light, whether it is bending it, producing small flashes or just making themselves look a little shinier. Oh, and speaking of shinies.. although tough as faeron they are not, they do still have.. certain tendencies.. towards obtaining shiny objects.. similar to them. You probably want to keep count of your credits and gems, or risk continuously.. 'misplacing' a few.

Crossbreed: Shikama Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 35 mph Special Requirements: None Power Levels: 1 Notes: Gains loyalty at double the normal rate. City structures count as ‘trees’. Stamina: 2 Strength: 0 Resistance: 1 Dexterity: 2 Mentality: 0 Special Abilities: City Dweller, Arboreal Moves: Ember Size Chart: 1 Biology: An old earth faith story tells of an odd mischievous spirit whose only task is to bring to its master riches and gold each day, as it flies around leaving behind it a trail of fire and sparks. If fed and cared for, their master could become quite wealthy indeed, but if slighted their master's house could just as easily end up in flames. These small little things aren't perhaps smart enough to steal anything on purpose (though perhaps an odd shiny or two every now and again can catch their fancy) but if left unattended or allowed to roam free without supervision, they may yet provide to fulfill the second part of the story with a careless ember accidentally set loose.. Small and quite fast for their size, they are agile little things that have no issue climbing any manner of tall structures or coarse walls, having quite the affinity towards man-made city-scape where they enjoy to hide in nooks of roofs, chimneys, overhangs, ect. at night and hunt for insects, berries or the odd leaving of food scraps in the day. Quite affectionate, despite the fiery spark that boasts their only defense to danger, fresh owners should have little issue taming one, although keeping them from climbing all over their person might be a task somewhat more complicated..

Crossbreed: Castorum Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 40 mph Special Requirements: Loyalty 10 (to train) Power Levels: 5 Notes: Cannot be used as mounts, except with Ghost Rider. Stamina: 8 Strength: 5 Resistance: 6 Dexterity: 4 Mentality: 2 Special Abilities: Lava Bathe, Carapace, Intimidation Moves: Spectral Bite, Buck, Bone Shift, Incendiary Illusion, Heat Wave, Infernum Size Chart: 5 Biology: Ever heard of that one legend about a horse with three legs? Well.. up until a certain point the researchers were quite sure these half-breeds had the classical four-leg drive, right up until they began to.. somewhat split themselves apart. The results, though varied, tended to favour heavily a more five-legged build, despite showing no actual benefit or detriment to the overall locomotion of the creatures. Scientifically speaking it was classified as 'morbidly cool'. Similar to their rather infamous chelcauda parent these half-breeds have a tough outer shell that makes up a majority of their defensive capability. However, unlike said parent, these creatures are completely, utterly, hollow of physical material on the inside. The shell is their only skeletal structure - a housing for their spirit and flames - kept together by sinewy parts of muscle and flesh. Because of this, they are quite free of a sense of pain, allowing many armoured parts of the body to be shifted, while the ligaments can be torn apart and mended back together again with rather minimal effort, sometimes adding entire limbs to the equation for a short moment (or causing their maw to stretch all the way to the base of the neck). Temperament-wise they're certainly something to behold.. Every inch the territorial bastards as their 'cauda parent, but with a twist of madness added resulting in perhaps something of an instinct to increase said territories beyond their designated borders. A smart owner will never quite forget that three-legged legend, as they are a handful for any owner, beginner or expert, and Trepuldra would once again like to warn their owners to take heed and caution, for they have wild blood in them and have little to no issue with simply burning down anything they feel like, inanimate or living.. It is a good thing they can manage to forego carnivorous habits in favour of simply consuming their own element as nourishment, lest their hunting grounds truly become a City-wide issue. Again.

Crossbreed: Luminite Cunning: 5 Sentient Average Top Speed: 10 mph, 20 mph (gliding) Special Requirements: None Power Levels: 3 Notes: Can glide by jumping up. Stamina: 1 Strength: 1 Resistance: 2 Dexterity: 4 Mentality: 7 Special Abilities: Glide, Bioluminescence, Mechanical Mind, Magical Touch Moves: Dig, Spectral Bite, Shadow Meld Size Chart: 2 Biology: You know what is generally considered to fill up a haunted mine shaft? Ghosts. You know what makes a good mining partner? Not.. ghosts. Early on the scientists realized that for this half-breed to be even half-decent in the tunnels below the earth, it needed a little more solidity than its yumenokei parent provided. So, a crystal body was constructed, infused with the combined essences of the creature and the rest was left to take it's due un-natural course. The result is a rather mild-natured and curious creature, who is quite light on its feet and.. well light in general - there isn't much weight to the body given it is just a layer of crystalline form reanimated by a spirit able to manipulate other non-magical mineral matter into its own form. This is, indeed, how it 'feeds', which is to say it doesn't eat except when it has lost a part of its form to one reason or another. It then seeks the nearest mineral source to assimilate into its form and gradually regrow a part lost over a length of time. While this makes the creature rather fragile, structurally-speaking, it has a fair share of advantages - beyond having some capacity for magic, the creature is also able to let enough of its spirit seep through the form in order to traverse the deep parallel pockets of shadows, thus allowing it quick escape from danger. Overall they are quite capable little helpers with a keen sense of minerals and a fair degree of utility. A truly well-bonded owner would never find itself left into pitch black darkness of the mountain's depths, that's for sure.

Half-breed: Lazaru Cunning: 2 Critter Average Top Speed: 30 mph Special Requirements: Loyalty 5 (to train) Size Chart: 3 Power Levels: 3 Notes: Cannot battle. Stamina: 3 Strength: 1 Resistance: 2 Dexterity: 5 Mentality: 2 Special Abilities: Run, Nightvision Moves: Stalk, Mind Soothe, Summon Food Source (Fish) Soft, cuddly and utterly adorable these halfbreeds are more showcase companion than of practical utility. With a body more rounded and soft they don't quite get the same range of (central) agility as their mosca parentage, but that is slightly made up with their considerably long and semi-lanky leg structure, making them quite light on their feet. This creates a situation where the usual 'cats always land on their feet' case is.. not really the case, as their body doesn't quite twist and bend as well, however their leaping capability appears unchanged from their larger parent, able to jump up to the heigher shelves of the house quite easily (so be careful where and how you store your food!) Beyond that they are not aggressive, only playful. Any kind of jumping on things or batting them with paws is more like soft taps and light petting than anything to deal harm. Indeed, most bugs caught in their span of attention are likely to, at worst, get away with but a slight scare. Reversely this also means they are highly dependent on their caretakers, for any food they summon tends to come in raw form and they lack the natural instinct to eat it unless it has been prepared into chewable bite-sized chunks. As far as noises go only one has been recorded and these creatures appear unable to do anything but softly, yet loudly 'meep'. The pitch, tone and length of the meep make up the meaning, although mostly it's just very simple concepts such as 'happy', 'sad', 'hungry', 'bored'. The latter case is considered quite rare as their attention span takes no prisoners and keeps flitting around from thing to thing, never really managing to stop and think on it. As such, they are considered not quite the brightest, but rather on the side of incredibly whimsical. From time to time, in the case of them being happy the jewel orbs on them blink softly with a light, which sadly isn't enough to provide too much light, but at least it makes it easier for their owner to spot them in darkness.
