Half-breed: Taticus Cunning: 4 Beast Average Top Speed: 30 mph, 15 mph (swim) Special Requirements: None Size Chart: 3 Power Levels: 4 Notes: Gains loyalty at twice the normal rate. Stamina: 5 Strength: 5 Resistance: 4 Dexterity: 4 Mentality: 2 Special Abilities: Pack Instincts (Sentient), Swim, Speak Moves: Bite, Howl, Sparkling Dust If at first you don't succeed, try, try again; don't give up too easily, persistence pays off in the end.. this time with arms. If there's one thing to really cause these creatures discomfort, its a set of matted hair which can sour their mood something fierce. To no dangerous extents, but certainly landing in the 'sulky' range. Otherwise, they enjoy the company of people (yes, specificially people), finding more kin among them than their creature counterparts. This is largely due to their rare ability to learn words and phrases.. simpler ones, granted, for their (original) intellect isn't quite as sharp as true sentients, but as far as communication goes simple is all you need at times. Making people sounds tends to cause other creatures to alienate them, as it creates a confusing boundary - how much are they creature, and how much a person? In their mind, this is perfectly fine, for people words tend to fall on deaf ears when it comes to simpler intellects (and are a source of the occasional envy from the higher intellects). As far as physical attributes go, their fur is thick and to a degree well-oiled, waterproof enough to allow them to be quite the apt swimmers. With a large bulk, they are none the less almost awkwardly aware of their surroundings, careful to not injure anything by stepping or bumping into it. The small tusks, largely display in purpose, can sometimes cause them to develop a slight lisp or otherwise add an accent onto their spoken words. Nothing to cause all too much confusion, fortunately. And finally, their extra set of arms missing from the previous half-breed generation can be somewhat deft, though they lack thumbs, meaning they have an easier time holding onto things with both limbs, rather than one at a time. Finally, the vestigial remnants of wings are more rubbery-skin-like in texture than frail insecticidal membranes and tend to shimmer slightly in bright light. With a small whisk of them, the creatures are able to summon sparks from thin air, often to the delight of onlookers. Big, fluffy, gentle and playful, these halfbreeds make an excellent companions for all ages, provided you remember to groom them properly.

Half-breed: Eobaru Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 30 mph Special Requirements: Loyalty 5 (to train) Size Chart: 3 Power Levels: 3 Notes: None Stamina: 3 Strength: 3 Resistance: 2 Dexterity: 3 Mentality: 2 Special Abilities: Acid Fang, Acid Resistance Moves: Venomous Bite, Grace A rose by any other name, would probably smell even better, for the princely nature of these creatures comes with a prickly danger beneath the dainty petals. Where Pures seek to walk the land letting no blade of grass undisturbed, these half-breeds more see themselves as the owners of the land rather than co-existent. The air of grace remains much the same, however, even if that gossamer allure is in part from their innate natures and in other part from the fact they do not enjoy running - with three toes to a foot, only the middle of the three has a hooven construction. This means the rough, rugged ground may end up uncomfortable a footing if walked on for too long, leaving them to prefer the softer, greenery-filled soils of the meadows and woods rather than man-made roads and rocks. Temperament aside, they are otherwise quite simple creatures with simple needs - plants for food, entertainment for fun (which they would rather observe over than partake actively) and a sense of respect for their boundaries. Achieve that and they may warm up to new trainers. Irritate and annoy them, however, and one might find the roses have quite sharp thorns, with a venomous kick to boot..

Half-breed: Lumiscent Cunning: 4 Beast Average Top Speed: 25 mph Special Requirements: None Size Chart: 2 Power Levels: 2 Notes: None Stamina: 1 Strength: 1 Resistance: 1 Dexterity: 3 Mentality: 4 Special Abilities: Linked Sense (Sight), Bioluminesence, Shadow Resistance, Mechanical Mind, Magical Touch Moves: Moonlight, Spectral Bite, Shadow Meld, Flash Constructs are a funny thing: you spend a good deal of time understanding the metaphysical nature of inorganic entities only to have them parsed with spirits to become.. something between ghosts and rocks. And then spliced again with actual organics to become something.. entirely else. That's where the scientists started with these half-breeds, and even then they aren't entirely sure if they've ended yet. For one, while the appearance of the creatures seems quite living and fleshy, they are, in fact, entirely (aside the crystals) compromised of felt-like fur. That is to say, that and of nothing else, just cold-to-the-touch fur that somehow has a life of its own.. And a will of its own. While this form does not appear to be overly malleable by the host, it does give it a few benefits over other brains-and-nerves owning species (namely that they don't have to worry about all that synaptic nonsense). They don't bleed, in theory only need to feed on sun- or moonlight to sustain themselves and are otherwise quite docile. Perhaps not the best of conversation partners nor all that great for empathic company, these half-breeds are otherwise quite at home in the darkness and tunnels of all kinds, making them quite excellent mining companions. Just.. make sure you keep an eye on them. Ghosts in the underground are no less spooky when they're ones you own..

Crossbreed: Haranokei Cunning: 5 Sentient Average Top Speed: 10 mph, 20 mph (gliding) Special Requirements: None Size Chart: 2 Power Levels: 2 Notes: Does not require a “jump off” point when Gliding. Stamina: 1 Strength: 0 Resistance: 0 Dexterity: 4 Mentality: 5 Special Abilities: Adaptable, Glide, Malleable Form, Magical Moves: Foxfire, Travel by Moonlight, Shadow Bolt Biology: "Wear your iron and carry your salt, for the sidhe care not for excuses. Both summer and winter courts alike have a fancy for the blood of a fool." Perhaps a little morose of a saying, but somewhat apt when it comes to these creatures, that could, at best be described as 'veilwalkers' - neither entirely physical nor completely spirit, they exist in the strange mish-mash of metaphysical between. They can touch and interact with things, though their strength leaves something to be desired, but at the same time anything physical interacting with them might find its not so easy to pin down one of the fae. Beyond that, what they lack physically they make up in various arcane methods. Able to learn magic makes them quite a force to be reckoned with, depending on where each decides to guide their learning towards. Even beyond that their own innate abilities allow for them to flitter to and fro between the shadows, making elusive sightings and stranger guests. As far as their disposition goes, there is an innate distrust of the other sentients. After all, animals and beast are easy, they only have a preset kind of desires, but humanoids and their ilk are tricky and unpredictable. One may end up trading quite a few favours (and shiny non-iron trinkets) to one, before they could be considered 'friend'. And that in itself is good company to be in, for those they consider 'foe' may find themselves in for a lifetime of hexes and mischievous grievances..

Crossbreed: Pixiru Cunning: 4 Beast Average Top Speed: 10 mph, 10 mph (fluttering) Special Requirements: None Size Chart: ? Power Levels: 1 Notes: Can use Bioluminescence at will* Stamina: 1 Strength: 1 Resistance: 0 Dexterity: 2 Mentality: 1 Special Abilities: Flutter, Bioluminescence* Moves: Starlight, Mimic Biology: When you're out and about the dark night-time forests and you spot some flickering, twinkling lights in the darkness, it might pay to take a closer look, for it might not be fireflies you're observing but rather these bouncy energetic half-breeds. And when you do, take just as much care to avoid disturbing them, for despite their small stature and frail nature, their tiny little lights can still give quite a sting. For the scientists of the Labs, they're somewhat an anomaly - the first species where the usually quite persistent bioluminesence seems to be.. optional. Of course it is no doubt a result of their orbaru parentage where the trait tends to come with some genetic predispositions, but for these half-breeds that border doesn't seem to be as clear-cut. Small in stature, their light frames make them quite adept acrobats, though much of that requires some aid of their half-formed wings. They are a curious sort, able to range from a care-free nature of their orbaru parents, to a slightly more suspicious nature the harachiu might adopt of strangers. But whichever of the sides takes hold at the time, you can be certain their prefer fun over confrontation and take great pleasure in imitating those around them. It is, perhaps, the closest they could get to speech, but that isn't to say the calls of other creatures are no less fun to imitate. A crow of an izer or a howl of a vulticus could very well just be a fairly hidden one attempting to play games, or to get their owner's attention. All in all they are kind, friendly types who will need attention to keep them happy. Not because there's a threat to them feeling abandoned, but because much like any fey-blooded creature - they otherwise will simply demand it.

Crossbreed: Baskervillain Cunning: 2 Critter Average Top Speed: 30 mph Special Requirements: None Size Chart: ? Power Levels: 4 Notes: Gain loyalty at 2x the normal rate in daylight, but 1/2 the normal rate in darkness. Stamina: 2 Strength: 3 Resistance: 2 Dexterity: 11 Mentality: 2 Special Abilities: Intimidation, Glide Moves: Gale Winds, Balefire, Spook Biology: “It came with the wind through the silence of the night, a long, deep mutter, then a rising howl, and then the sad moan in which it died away." To anyone outside the Labs such descriptions of creatures would provoke absolute terror, but for its residents they are a timely warning to keep an eye out for there might be a poor beast lost and confused somewhere. And, perhaps, none more so that these poor souls. On the surface they appear quite devilish and ghastly, with bodies that certainly have an outline of a specific form, but with a mass that seems more like stormclouds swirling, parting, reforming within it, like a bottle where the glass has been removed and yet the liquid seems to behave as if it's still there. Flames and smoke kindle within, escaping from gaps where they can, though cool and cold to the touch until angered. A hound of fire and wind, of storms and hell, that delights in hunting anything that moves. Such drastic descriptions aside, they are, however, quite trainable, even if it will require a fair amount of patience on the owner's part. The main problem seems to be that they are not all too bright and repetition is key, provided they remain in the mood to listen. And much like storms can turn bright days to gloomy moods, the presence of light or lack thereof can affect these beasts just as easily - by day they can be as cuddly as the next playful pup, but by night their flames flicker brighter, their gazes look sharper and their stomach growls louder.. A careless owner may even find themselves faced with a creature who has trouble remembering them, much less listening to commands. Training these creatures will be no easy task, but if successful one could find them to be absolutely perfect hunting hounds. Just.. don't let them run around moors after dark..

Crossbreed: Nevermoor Cunning: 4 Beast Average Top Speed: 30 mph Special Requirements: None Size Chart: 4 Power Levels: 4 Notes: None Stamina: 5 Strength: 4 Resistance: 2 Dexterity: 4 Mentality: 5 Special Abilities: Malleable Form, Keen Senses, Iron Will, Shadow Resistance Moves: Foxfire, Cold Breath, Starlight, Smoke, Shadow Strike Biology: The deep depths of space are said to be cold enough to snuff out even the brightest of infernos.. at least, in due time. So, what then, of the deepest of shadows down here on the earth? Presumably, one would say it is no different. These creatures are that kind of darkness and depth made real, of being drawn so deep into the within that they are cold and elusive, unreachable and distant, truly their own masters, and yet utterly alone in that. Whether they have a capacity for empathic sense is largely a question of debate - perhaps time will tell - but until then they prefer the company of only themselves and peer into the wider word with a hundred eyes. Physically speaking said darkness is quite literally their chemical and biological make-up, so much so that their choice of form is only due to their will and likely nothing else. They could change, if they wished it. They simply prefer this instead. The inside of the darkness is like a sun enveloped, whether it be a bright nova or a dim blue dwarf, and the only escape its light has is the openings along their body, slits that one could swear have appearance of eyes.. And yet, sun or not, their touch is cold and so is their power, much like the distant proto-cousins of the skies. Despite the distance they are quite trainable and it's possible to integrate them into most kennel dynamics. Though, this kind of attention should not be necessarily confused for affection. Whatever they do, they do it out of their own intent and purpose rather than emotion. Indeed, one could almost swear emotions seem devoid of these void-blooded wonders..

Crossbreed: Taxostos Cunning: 6 Mystic Average Top Speed: 25 mph, 50 (flying) Special Requirements: None Size Chart: 4 Power Levels: 4 Notes: Loyalty 10 (to respect) Stamina: 3 Strength: 3 Resistance: 3 Dexterity: 5 Mentality: 6 Special Abilities: Fly, Thick Fur, Danger Sense Moves: Dodge, Bite of the Divine, Holy Shield Biology: Winters are dark and full of terrors, the cold and shadow seeping the very warmth of the living.. But sometimes, just sometimes, if one needs it most, there is also light. Much like their Luxostos parents, there is a certain kind of tendency to seek out the lost, the forgotten, the cold and the needy with these creatures, however their motivation for it seems to be far more otherworldly by comparison - they are, after all, still part tat-lung, and so, it is less a kindness out of one's heart and more seeing it a necessary sacrifice to come down to the level of the lesser creatures in order to aid them. Because they need it. Physically speaking there is little that isn't familiar - a solid if not a little thin frame of body covered in a thick downy coat of fur sure to put any sheeps blanket to shame. Indeed, if allowed to touch one could almost swear there is nothing softer known to humankind. The metallic plating running along their body gives evidence that their internal structure is, most likely, of the same material. Rather than bones and the usual organic material, their body is framed in a biological metallic compound that makes them rather light on their feet, able to dart a couple meters from standstill in only a matter of seconds. The truth of the matter is, they are, in fact, all just that - biometallic frame and impossibly downy fur. No internal organs, no flesh, quite perfect as far as optimized existence goes, for they require no solid sustenance, feeding instead on energies found in the world. The healthier the creature, the brighter the lantern they carry with their sensitive whiskers. When one takes all of that into account its obvious to see where the 'otherworldly' moniker can come from, backed up even further by their personalities. Overall they are a quiet lot, only choosing to make a bell-like sound if they deem someone worthy of the conversation, and it can take some time to gain their 'true' favour. Where they lend help and proverbial hand anywhere necessary, that is out of a higher sense of duty to the world, but for ones able to bond with them on a deeper level they will quickly find there is no loyalty greater.

Crossbreed: Genura Cunning: 4 Beast Average Top Speed: 25 mph, 30 mph (flying) Special Requirements: None Size Chart: 2 Power Levels: 2 Notes: None Stamina: 1 Strength: 2 Resistance: 2 Dexterity: 3 Mentality: 2 Special Abilities: Ethereal, Fly, Magical Moves: Ethereal Claw, Wind Burst, Howl Biology: When two worlds combine, the dark tunnels below and the lofty menagerie of the chaos house, the outcome can be.. quite beautiful. These iridescent creatures look more stone than spirit, but try as anyone might, they could not be touched by the most devoted of coveters. In a way, they're quite symbolic in that aspect - always in one's face and yet forever on a completely different plane of existence. Admittedly this makes them somewhat difficult mining partners, at least when digging is concerned. Even in their ghostly state they can damage things, sure, but even those phantasmal claws could never really move earth. Instead, they could, perhaps, work better as scouts - phasing through solid walls of stone and rock to find what lays beneath has its uses. And if not that, then they do carry with them some magical spark courtesy of the Mansion's arcane influence. An owner with a more refined idea as to the creature's use could teach it to sway in one particular way or another, perhaps even to a point where the earth itself does end up moving with a flick of a winged claw.

Crossbreed: Gargaru Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 20 mph Special Requirements: None Size Chart: 2 Power Levels: 2 Notes: Can battle. Stamina: 2 Strength: 2 Resistance: 2 Dexterity: 3 Mentality: 1 Special Abilities: Flutter, Earth Resistance, Light Weakness Moves: Ebil Nom, Dig Biology: When one thinks of orbaru, one generally considers to be quite docile and passive. Certainly, that stopped being the case with the Battle orbaru, and their more recent close-flung cousin, the Ebil orbaru. These two breeds seemed unique in their lot for combat and combined with the hardy, stony stubbornness of the gargoyles, the result is a package akin to a small badger. While mostly made out of stone they aren't exactly quite as hardy as their gargoyle brethren, but what they lack physically they more than make up in gumption. These creatures may seem calm and placid one second, then turn around to threaten the nearest thing that made a wrong sound or wrong move. Most of it is simply just that - a threat display. Try as they might, the crystals on their tails are far too fragile to be actually used as clubs, although they certainly do present themselves are sharp, pointy and above all, dangerous. A little bit of corrupted stone-blood can go a long way, after all. Still, the anomalous hard-headedness aside they do still make just as good of a mining companion as their gargoyle relatives. Except, perhaps, not.. that great of a cuddly pet like their orbaru kin, due to mostly being made out of cold, hard, jagged stone..

Half-breed: Fey Tat-lung Cunning: 5 Sentient Average Top Speed: 20 mph, 50 mph (Flying) Special Requirements: Level 5 (to train); Loyalty 5 (to trust) Size Chart: 2 Power Levels: 3 Notes: Cannot be used as mounts. Stamina: 3 Strength: 2 Resistance: 2 Dexterity: 5 Mentality: 3 Special Abilities: Fly, Physical Resistance Moves: Dodge, Telekinetic Powers, Leaf Storm Gentle fey-spirits with a hint of mischief, a whole lot of vanity and a sense of companionship.. if one knows how to properly handle them, that is. These half-breeds may look the frail and fragile sort, but thanks to their faeron inheritance are a fair bit more sturdier than their small frames would make it appear, to the point it might not necessarily seem physically possible. All the same, what they are able to endure does not go hand in hand with what they're willing to endure - their whiskers are their pride, joy and a very sensitive sensory apparatus, said to help their latent psychic powers. An owner able to respect that and show them the proper gentleness in touch and handling will be well rewarded with their trust. But anyone who so much as once happens to injure a single whisker, accidentally or otherwise, will be scorned on the spot with no hope of redemption for a long time. Much like their tat-lung parent, they do not so easily forget, and less so forgive such a grievous slight. Beyond that they happily spend their days playing, masking such large worries in a carefree façade. They enjoy perching on top of things, ever to be higher and higher, and though they are capable of flight, they much prefer to be sitting on something tall to carry them around, such as humanoids, as to better conserve their energy. A sharp wit and clever mind can make them adequate pranksters as well, though they rarely take anything all too far - a simple knot in one's hair, the switching of foods, an item stolen only to be placed somewhere high up where it is difficult to reach.. Things in that kind of vein. Because of this, a good owner will need to be very patient, very careful and gradually get to know these creatures before they're willing to lend some trust in return. After all, despite such a small form, they are still individuals in their own right.

Half-breed: Leopatra Cunning: 4 Beast Average Top Speed: 25 mph Special Requirements: None Size Chart: 3 Power Levels: 2 Notes: None Stamina: 2 Strength: 2 Resistance: 2 Dexterity: 3 Mentality: 1 Special Abilities: Thick Fur, Gleam, Psychic Resistance Moves: Scratch, Mimic, Climb, Moonlight A dash of fur, a pinch of earth, a touch of stone. These half-breeds seem to have a little of everything in them, and all in just the right balance, though not without some.. side-effects. On the surface they may seem like every other feline species from afar, but the closer one draws, the clearer the stark differences. Their bones a lined with diamond and their bodies studded with gem protrusions of the same. While it can make for a very fanciful colour show, it unfortunately doesn't provide all too much actual protection, as the lining is fairly thin. The rest of the body is covered in soft, silky, impossibly soft fur, which would be a delight to pet for any owner.. as long as they don't mind a little lichen getting on their hands in the process, for patches of it grows in symbiosis with the creatures themselves. Perhaps its the reflective quality of the diamonds, perhaps some bacterial immuno boost from the fungi inhabiting their system, but these creatures have fairly sturdy minds. Anyone looking to dig in around there or cause some mental lash-outs might find their attempts falling short. On the whole they tend to be on the aloof side, fairly willing to be handled, so long as they get left alone afterwards. Not necessarily the best 'work horses' due to the estharne's headstrong nature for lazing, but perhaps with some enticement and enrichment-style playing they could learn to put in a little bit of effort every now and again into some specific task or work. Just.. don't get them near fire. Neither their fur nor their lichen parts make for a very good combination in that, and their claws will still be sharp enough to show their protest quite clearly.

Crossbreed: Faeri Cunning: 4 Beast Average Top Speed: 6 mph, 50 mph (flying) Special Requirements: None Size Chart: 1 Power Levels: 1 Notes: Gains loyalty at twice the normal rate. Stamina: 1 Strength: 0 Resistance: 0 Dexterity: 3 Mentality: 2 Special Abilities: Fly, Forest-Dweller Moves: Grace, Sand Burst, Leaf Storm, Rapid Bloom One best be careful when attending their garden, for you can never quite know what manner of plants could turn out to be fey instead. Especially slightly mischievous ones with a knack for stealing fruit. With a small size and a brilliant array of frail wings, these creatures make any sort of garden their home, but are especially comfortable within forests, where the cover of tree and branch provides them with secure spots to hide in and also wonderful obstacles to play around on. Their flight style is a mesmerizing sight to behold, the rows of fine wings along their backs fluttering in wavey turns not unlike spanish dancers. They love the taste of fruit and find that the more colourful their food, the better, though preference tends to sway towards the sweet side. Any owner offering their creature a piece of pineapple may find themselves pelted by the very piece offered. By nature they are amiable companions who generally have an easy time getting along with people and creature alike. However, unlike their faeron brethren, these creatures are far more cautious rather than reckless, when it comes to their games and escapades. After all, their faeron brethren tend to be quite a bit more impermeable, while even a rougher touch could damage these delicate wings. They prefer to flee over fighting, as more often than not, whatever they fight tends to be several times larger and stronger. While this does not make them great battlers, it can make them handy companions of a more aesthetic sort.

Crossbreed: Archarelion Cunning: 4 Beast Average Top Speed: 35 mph, 60 mph (flying) Special Requirements: Loyalty 10 (to respect) Size Chart: 4 Power Levels: 5 Notes: None Stamina: 5 Strength: 5 Resistance: 4 Dexterity: 6 Mentality: 4 Special Abilities: Fly, Shadow Resistance, Survival Instincts, Loosen Fur, Magical Moves: Spectral Bite, Sonic Blast, Holy Shield, Holy Fury, Phase Out, Cure A wary eye must always be kept open, for ever will darkness seek to creep into the world. And should it find its way here, light must always be ready to meet it head on. There are not many creatures with a radiant single-mindedness towards a specific goal, but the ones who are, tend to be a force to be reckoned with. By stature these half-breeds may seem smaller than one would anticipate (though still larger than their malii parentage) but with an air and an aura of imposing nature sure to truly portray the majesty within. A greater infusion of the arcane has provided them with ample tools with which to hunt various beasts of shadow, to the point one could almost assume such prey are a part of their natural feeding habits (though fortunately they are just as content to eat regular carnivorous meals as well). In this there's a duality - these creatures can provide excellent prowess in both harrowing shadows as well as providing protection from them, seeking to guard those weaker than them. While not understanding a concept of nobility as such, as, after all, they do still come shy of true sentient thought, their behaviour may make it appear that way. Even so, feeling as though they're a head above many others in simple devotion, it can be a difficult task to gain their attention much less their trust. They can and readily will defend those weaker than them, but tend to likewise ignore any direction from such beings, caught in their determination to fight. It takes a patient and a perceptive owner to learn how best to shine within their minds, regardless of one's own innate strength. Owners who achieve that level can discover that their words begin to have impact, their suggestion becoming command, and perhaps the need to protect is less out of deep innate instinct and more out of active choice.
