Half-breed: Murabu Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 20 mph Special Requirements: None Size Chart: 4 Power Levels: 3 Notes: Cannot battle. Stamina: 6 Strength: 3 Resistance: 2 Dexterity: 3 Mentality: 0 Special Abilities: Iron Will, Thick Fur Moves: Lick, Bound A gentle giant with a gentle step and a gentle soul, though perhaps a bit too gentle. When using the phrase "Step softly, but carry a big stick" these creatures have left their metaphorical sticks at home. It's very likely they never had a stick to begin with. Wooly with a thick, curly blanket of fur they have an easy time in the cold and with a mild temperament to match, can make excellent mounts or pack animals for almost any journey.. Just as long as that journey doesn't take them into the desert. The heat, conversely, is not their friend. Though they might not be the most fastest of mounts, they have a dogged will to keep persisting at their own pace, however fast - or slow - it may be. The only ever time they may seem to be more lively is when they feel truly happy, doing a few prances here and there, though owners are advised to be careful - despite the orbaru parentage, these half-breed still have quite the weight from their other parent. On the one hand their mild temperament makes them excellent in manners, but there is an extreme to it - these creatures are so calm, they effectively never see a reason to fight. A pack of wild vulticus might jump out of the bushes and these creatures would only mildly observe them approaching, before simply turning around and walking off in a calm and disinterested manner. Their fur can give most wild predators a run for their money in chewing through, so by and large the wild ones could see them as more trouble than its worth. Unfortunately, this also means that should things turn serious, these halfbreeds aren't ones to actively interfere. Still, with that aside, their easy personality, stocky body and brilliant coat make them excellent companions on any journey.

Half-breed: Unseelicorn Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 35 mph Special Requirements: Loyalty 7 (to tame) Size Chart: 4 Power Levels: 5 Notes: None Stamina: 6 Strength: 6 Resistance: 4 Dexterity: 5 Mentality: 4 Special Abilities: Danger Sense, Amphibious, Corroding Body, Slime, Faerie Fault (Wood), Forest-Dweller Moves: Buck, Dash, Poison Sting, Shadow Meld, Hidden Mist, Howl, Emit Fumes, Chilling Aura "O'er moors and brook and stream; E're watchful of malicious gleam; Such plain and welcome doth it seem; A kelpie tak'd thyself t'deep.." If the folks tales weren't enough warning about kelpies and their uncertain natures, these creatures can certainly add a little 'fact' to 'myth'. Needless to say, unless you're feeling really confident in your own swimming ability and resistance to drowning, its probably not the best idea to be alone around larger bodies of water with these creatures. At least, not until they've had a chance to see you as little more than a piece of trick-able meat. More akin to their gallor-side in appetite, they enjoy a carnivorous diet and are not at all picky about where said meat comes from. To hunt, they can often resort to the ever classical method of hiding in pools of water, cloaking themselves in mist or simply resorting to the shadows around them, before pouncing on unsuspecting prey. Anyone looking to ride them would quickly realize they are not only sticky to the touch and thus, difficult to pry one's self off of them once on, but also quite acidulous to boot. Though, against all this, there's still the ever classical method of rowan, oak, ash and birch (or any other convenient piece of wood) which can help keep them in line when getting a little too mischievous. By nature they're quite aloof and a little disconnected from some concerns. Though not having particularly shining degrees of intelligence, they can none the less prove to be tricky and dangerous if underestimated. After all, even a creature's basic instinct is a highly specific machine intended for a particular outcome, whether defending one's self or for hunting prey. Thus, a good owner must first spend time studying them, for they are quite complicated creatures, to learn all the tricks they might have in store, before they can be confident about surviving any lake-side encounters with one..

Half-breed: Raikiri Cunning: 4 Beast Average Top Speed: 35 mph, 35 mph (flying) Special Requirements: Loyalty 5 (to trust) Size Chart: 3 Power Levels: 4 Notes: None Stamina: 3 Strength: 4 Resistance: 4 Dexterity: 4 Mentality: 5 Special Abilities: Fly, Opposable Thumbs, Bioluminescence, Light Immunity, Shadow Resistance Moves: Bite of the Divine, Foxfire, Illusion, Intangible Body, Holy Light "Fire in one's soul, magic in one's veins" is a piece of a familiar poem, and it can certainly run true with these crossbreeds. Where their rakai parentage were praised for having 'diamond hard' scales one could say its in fact these halfbreeds that could truly attest to a stony hide - mostly because half of them is just that. Unlike most other gargoyle-based halfbreeds, these guys do have a mostly fleshy body, where the stony plating and scales are fused to it to form a protective coating. Not exactly impermeable, but then, their other tricks may not require it to be - true to the pure-sided heritage, there is a certain.. malleableness to their form. While they care not how many blades or grass gets trampled underfoot, they may none the less opt to be a little less physical in order to avoid sticky situations or simple grime. There's a bit of pride to them that shines through in quite a literal sense. One can immediately tell they hold themselves to a certain primp posture, no doubt inheritance from their pure-lined blood, though the stony stoicism of a gargoyle gives it a shade of indifference. They may bring light to any darkness they walk to, but they are not quick to trust. As such, one must shown a certain manner of worthiness to whatever particular ideal an individual creature might have - whether to assure calmness, upkeep cleanliness or something entirely else. And in return these versatile creatures may yet prove themselves quite the capable companions.

Half-breed: Galataur Cunning: 4 Beast Average Top Speed: 30 mph Special Requirements: Level 5 (to train) Size Chart: 3 Power Levels: 3 Notes: None Stamina: 3 Strength: 2 Resistance: 1 Dexterity: 4 Mentality: 3 Special Abilities: Planes-Runner, Wind Avatar Moves: Glass Spear, Shimmer, Wind's Blessing, Mimic "Guard thy soul for the wylde cavalcade rides and seeks to carry with them prize and bounty.." At least, small-ish prizes and bounties. Luckily for anything humanoid (and not a child) these guys would have a pretty tough time trying to haul an entire humanoid away due to their size. If there's one thing these creatures seem to be built on, its speed. Not in the traditional sense how fast cant they run from Point A to Point B, but the fact that Point A and Point B need not necessarily be connected by the ground - they can dash through the air just as well, despite being wingless, and even when fully on the ground there's a touch of wind to their feet that helps them keep up with and hunt down a number of prey types. Strangely, despite this urge to hunt, they do not, in fact, eat meat. At least, without it being out of desperation. It's more the thrill of the chase than the capture at the end and their sharper minds can make them quite adept at chasing down some of the simpler animals. Not quite sharp enough to rival a humanoid, alas, but there's a strange kind of primal intelligence that has roots far deeper and further back in our collective genetic history than many regular people feel comfortable contemplating. As for their demeanours, the odd spell to chase down things aside, it can be a mixed bag of almost anything. To be sure, they respect others of greater sizes, if only because they have smarts enough to realize they could not pose challenge to such great forms, though that only works so long as they do not scent a weakness. They quite love a challenge, the rush of it not unlike a chase, and can become unruly if they sense an owner may not be as strong as they think. But a little work and some showing of prowess, whatever its form, and they can settle down, making training them easier. So long as the owner can keep providing them with decent challenges to occupy their energies, the "wylde hunters" can actually become quite pleasant company.

Half-Breed: Gravewalker Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 30 mph Special Requirements: Level 5 (to train), Loyalty 5 (to trust) Size Chart: ? Power Levels: 6 Notes: None Stamina: 8 Strength: 8 Resistance: 7 Dexterity: 4 Mentality: 3 Special Abilities: Intimidation, Lifeless, Thorny Body, Eidolon Endeavour Moves: Shadow Spear, Bone Shift, Screech, Tail Strike, Dead Scream, Chain Lightning Many have heard of the living, breathing tanks that are the PHIL and most have heard of the ash-encased walking reactors that were the Maw checlaudi. Well, get ready for the bastard children (somewhat literally) of those two terrible beasts, in one. Hardy to a fault, it's tough to get around the defences of these creatures at the best of days. At the worst, you might be able to finally crack the armour and think yourself to have the upper hand when suddenly you come to realize - these creatures.. do not live. As such, they're not quite as bound to the whole pesky 'mortal' business as other creatures. Granted, with enough persuasive force (commonly of the literal kind) even they might eventually succumb to grow still - truly dead - but until then you have their ghastly visage to contend with, the deep and soul-shattering ringing shattering your ears, and (if one's truly unlucky) the creatures might take everyone around down with them in a final bit of lightning. No wonder then that to train these beasts would need a brave heart and a steady mind. Thankfully, for all their physical prowess, they are quite silent and calm figures - when one happens to be on the other side of the mortal veil, the mortal life around them isn't quite as appealing. They still feed and crave, to be sure, but it's not quite as vibrant an experience. And at any second of the day, something wrong might fire just right in those decayed minds of theirs, to devastating effect..

Half-Breed: Slushie Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 35 mph Special Requirements: None Size Chart: ? Power Levels: 5 Notes: Gain Loyalty at twice the normal rate. Stamina: 6 Strength: 6 Resistance: 4 Dexterity: 5 Mentality: 2 Special Abilities: Hardy, Pack Instincts (Vulticus, Gallor), Plains-Runner, Thick Fur Moves: Bite, Dash, Kick One of civilisation's oldest companions was the dog. When the Labs came about, it became the vulticus. And now, one could say these crossbreeds might give the vulticus a run for its money.. Quite literally. Because there is but one thing these creatures are born to do, and that is, well.. simply to run. As hardy and stocky as their vulticus parents, while also having the flexibility and spryness of the gallor one, these creatures make for excellent companions in the snowy winter. The structure of their body and muscles allows them to pull weights quite easily, and the broad span of their feet make traversing flat, uneven surfaces, such as bog or snow, quite literally a breeze. They don't tire as easily as other vulticus might, and they rather like working together in the process. Certainly, there are many other more flashier creatures around, but what does flash account for again some good ol' fashioned reliable friendship? And friendly they are, indeed. Whether strongly bonded to one another or their owner, these creatures will gladly follow the suit of whoever is deemed the leader of the pack. They wont even shy away from bonding to other vulticus or gallor, though even these fine runners might have difficulty keeping up with the latter in flight.. Still, they're happy despite that, so long as they get to spend all that energy on a daily run.

Half-Breed: Behemoth Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 20 mph, 50 mph (flying) Special Requirements: Level 5 (to train) Size Chart: ? Power Levels: 8 Notes: Loyalty 15 (to control) Stamina: 12 Strength: 10 Resistance: 7 Dexterity: 6 Mentality: 2 Special Abilities: Fly, Intimidation, Lone Wolf (Thundergug, Pliathor, Sarane), Hardy, Electrical Resistance Moves: Bite, Horn Strike, Devour, Breathe Fire, Climb When one considers flying creatures, they normally imagine a lithe, hollow-boned kind of beast that might be muscled in parts, but otherwise seem quite different to the thick-corded beasts of the ground. 'Normally' being the keyword here, for to be sure, there isn't quite a lot of that with these creatures.. For starters, though they may seem relatively clumsy by bulk, there's a strange weightlessness to the way they move. In many ways the sarane parentage can carry the blame on that one, though even sarane seem, at times, a little unsteady on the ground and more-so in flight. The exact mechanism isn't well understood, perhaps having something more rooted in magic, but the physiological nature of the creatures allows them to take flight with relative ease and sustain it as well, while still maintaining a hefty weight that any poor onlooker should be careful of if said shadow ever crossed over their heads.. They prefer to prey from the skies and though they cannot easily hide themselves there then their size more than makes up for it - one can hardly outrun something ten times their length alone. Between this and the penchant to cook their food before eating, its hardly a wonder they're hard to control. The nature can vary based on individual, though a certain kind of aloofness exists when it comes to feeling threatened - namely that they rarely do. They fly, they burn and they eat, and most things outside of that scale are inconsequential. A good trainer will need to put in a lot of work to reign that kind of force of nature in, if they hope to ever keep these creatures at bay, for to them a mere humanoid might as well be but a small snack.

Half-Breed: Magna Draco Cunning: 4 Beast Average Top Speed: 25 mph, 85 mph (flying), 50 mph (swim) Special Requirements: Level 5 (to train) Size Chart: ? Power Levels: 6 Notes: Loyalty 10 (to respect) Stamina: 8 Strength: 6 Resistance: 6 Dexterity: 7 Mentality: 3 Special Abilities: Fly, Commanding Presence, Lava Bathe, Telepathy Moves: Rend, Breathe Fire, Sonic Blast, Lifetap, Chain Lightning "If you see the dragon fly, best you drink the flagon dry." There are many creatures in the world which could petition for the title of 'dragon' and most would make it a fair contest - are they not all 'dragons' in their own ways, their own manners? And yet these crossbreeds would set forth a challenge not so easily beat, for they carry the combined blood of nearly all such creatures, in one. When one thinks of dragons they immediately think of fire. As much is true with these creatures as well, for they not only are able to breathe it but also find it a comforting source for a bath. The crack of their wings combined with the tremble of their roar can send shockwaves through the air strong enough to bend trees and if that wasn't enough the very mane crackles and flickers with subtle static - should a battle take a turn for the unfavourable, well.. the draconic pride would not allow for their enemies to win without a cost. In other cases, they can even weave the lifelines of their foes, to better even the odds in their favour, bringing even mighty foes down to their level. Sufficed to say, they can be a handful. With enough tat-lungian pride within them, they have a distinct sense of self importance and thus, do not necessarily view humanoids as equal in measure. Curiosity might draw them to pick minds for thoughts and ideas, but it generally takes a while before they can deem any one humanoid more worthwhile than the rest. When angered, there is a fury bordering on instability, that vague, frail balance of staying in control passed down from the rather explosive and chaotic parentage, barely kept in check by the pride. But, once proven to, they can become quite loyal, even if a little uncompromising. After all: "It's a metaphor of human bloody existence, a dragon. And if that wasn't bad enough, it's also a bloody great hot flying thing."

Half-Breed: Wishmaker Djinn Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: Same speed as object. Special Requirements: None Size Chart: 1 Power Levels: 2 Notes: None Stamina: 1 Strength: 1 Resistance: 1 Dexterity: 2 Mentality: 1 Special Abilities: Float, Magical Moves: Spook "Be careful what you wish for, for wishes and curses go hand-in-hand." A magical, wish-granting being of great power is a legend as old as time itself, and though it comes through in many different versions, they all come with the very same warning - be careful. At first one could hardly even call these crossbreeds as 'creatures', for their default state appears as nothing more than a metallic bird-shaped whistle. In this state they are, in fact, dormant, a kind of resting phase where they neither hear nor see nor feel anything beyond the item confines. Once the whistle has been sounded, however, the lovely, sweet bird-like tune summons forth their true form. Part-stone, part-flesh, all real. They are intrinsically tied to the whistles, to the point that they cannot really wander all too far away from it, the ghostly tail always attached, but at least it is not a difficult thing to carry such a small and light object. Certainly not a creature built to survive in the wild by itself, but rather specifically engineered to be a companion to humanoids. While they have neither the empathic nor telepathic ability of other creatures, they none the less can share a certain mild connection to whoever is holding the whistle. Its a 'sense' of the person on the surface, and thus can easily be fooled by the deceitful, but also something that does not necessarily require words to get across. If they sense an owner might presently be hungry, food might magically appear before them out of thin air. If they sense the person to be cold, a warm breeze might drift in as if from a sandy desert. It is a simple kind of "needs-to-wants" based intelligence and more direct requests might be harder for the owners to get across. However, as the saying goes.. Sometimes one can't always get what one wants, but one might get what one needs.

Half-Breed: Felaris Cunning: 4 Beast Average Top Speed: 30 mph Special Requirements: None Size Chart: 3 Power Levels: 3 Notes: None Stamina: 2 Strength: 3 Resistance: 3 Dexterity: 4 Mentality: 3 Special Abilities: Thick Fur, Opposable Thumbs, Light Resistance, Psychic Resistance Moves: Climb, Mimic, Intangible Body, Foxfire, Nether Claw Cats are prideful at the best of times and most felines, regardless of shape and size, seem to have within them almost a genetic memory of once having been gods. This kind of genetic memory can, of course, become compounded by a lot of different factors, including ones which make it even worse. A whole mixture of wall-to-wall ancestry has produced a creature that is resilient in mind and fluid in body. To say felines are like liquid can be taken to a quite literal extreme with these creatures, as they share their bloodlines' ability to simply move through any and all obstacles, problems and, above all, annoyances, with hardly a care. They may not be smart enough to master speech and complex thought, but they are clever enough to learn a few things here and there, such as how to open doors or use their tinny, cheep-based voices to imitate the words of their owners, especially if they feel to be particularly demanding in some aspect. By default, they are all quite vain. The fur, no longer riddled with their parent's curse of lichen, is kept meticulous and pristine, with a sheen akin to polished stone and a softness akin to fuzzy catkins. Whether fur or stone, they polish themselves properly and abhor anyone or anything messing up a job well done. As such, they might not be ones for touch all too much, though they can certainly grow accustomed to it. Beyond that, they simply enjoy lazing in sunlight, spending most of their days resting and attended to, hardly even seeing a need to hunt for food if they can simply demand the humanoids to bring some. And the demands will be vocal.. After all, one doesn't really want to see their gem-encrusted, large, heavy feline stand in the middle of a culinary carnage scene, storeroom door open, cupboard doors wide and feed bags ripped apart, now do they?

Half-breed: Maringlysau Cunning: 4 Beast Average Top Speed: 45 mph Special Requirements: Loyalty 7 (to train) Size Chart Reference: 4 Power Levels: 5 Notes: None Stamina: 6 Strength: 5 Resistance: 4 Dexterity: 4 Mentality: 4 Special Abilities: Glide, Loosen Feathers, Acid Fang, Refined Senses, Survival Instincts, Light Weakness Moves: Kick, Screech, Venomous Bite, Euphoric Goop, Poisonous Gas Biology: In as much as the world adheres to the tenants of Light and Dark, these halfbreeds can certainly be seen as more.. on the shadier side. Not by any means of principle or thought, but more in the way they're built, with a slight tendency towards aggression. To begin with, they're certainly quite the forms to behold, blending many elements of equillion heritage with that of the sturdier pasha-sarane - a silky flowing mane, the sureness of foot via three toes, a grace around them that almost seems to defy gravity (which certainly explains the ribbons). But all that prettiness has a bite, and quite the toxic one at that. In fact, these halfbreeds are deceptively poisonous, able to inflict crippling venom, euphoria and choking gas all in one. A smart trainer will make sure to fully understand all the ways things can go wrong around these halfbreeds before they would even entertain the idea of training. Anything else would as likely end you in the Temple (and not the "fun" kind of visit). Agile on their feet, they can be quite tough to challenge, though not impossible. All the shadiness comes with a weakness as well, in that they don't seem to enjoy light all too much. As such, most often they prefer to be up and about towards the edges of the day, when its more overcast or gloomy, or even at night. Which is to say.. if you hear the sound of jingle bells in the dead of night on a gloomy forest path, with an acrid scent in the air? Uh, best turn on right back the other way..

Half-breed: Arcarok Cunning: 3 Animal Average Top Speed: 15 mph (80 mph Flying) Special Requirements: Loyalty 5 (to train) Size Chart Reference: 6 Power Levels: 6 Notes: Gains Empathetic Link at Loyalty 15. Telepathy does not override Cunning. Stamina: 9 Strength: 7 Resistance: 5 Dexterity: 5 Mentality: 4 Special Abilities: Fly, Enigmatic, Telepathy Moves: Peck, Projectile Poison, Shimmer, Silence, Prismatic Light Biology: Word to the wise - any power can be fickle under an inattentive master. Arguably, this is most true of magic, as it can be quite volatile if misused, and these halfbreeds certainly have no shortage of it. With arcane powers at their finger-wing tips a trainer needs to first and foremost understand that these creatures.. might not always know what to do with it. They might equally use it for something amusing as they might for destruction, to summon food when hungry or burn up a particularly sentimental statue because it looked threatening. While they do have the capacity to project their thoughts, their intelligence can be left a little.. wanting. Which isn't to say they don't understand their surroundings, its just more seen from a more instinctual angle, rather than societal. As such, its recommended that any trainers make sure to spend plenty of time with their halfbreeds, to better connect with them. Once a connection is made, the newly formed bond tends to placate them and allows them to better integrate with their surroundings, in a much more safer manner. Physically speaking, these halfbreeds are a mix of feathers and furs, save for the scale-like pinions of their wings. Gem-like growths adorn them across the body, making for quite dazzling displays as well as excellent means to channel their magic. Just.. be careful with not harming their orbs. There's no surer way to make these guys mad than to scratch the surface of their precious orbs.

They're quite content to wander both the open world above, as well as the tunnels below, equipped with much the same tools are said parent, needing to fear little any beast of darkness or threat from below. If anything they have even more a mind to collect curiosities that catch their interest, be it a particular type of rock, a specifically shaped stick, or even just a piece of random cloth. With that all said, physically they're quite capable creatures, their antennae making them alert to their surroundings even when at ease, thumbs with which to help them through quite a few puzzles and tricky situations, and a whole bag of options in dealing with threats and dangers, be it via illusion, incorporeality, or straight up light beam to the offending face. Their lithe form might not be able to stay in any fight for very long, but they'll be devote to any owner who deems to spend enough time with them - Once they know an owner, they'll stay true no matter what.

Half-breed: Aetherix Cunning: 4 Beast Average Top Speed: 10 mph (50 mph Flying) Special Requirements: Loyalty 10 (to train) Size Chart Reference: * Power Levels: 4 Notes: Gains Empathetic Link at Loyalty 10. Stamina: 4 Strength: 4 Resistance: 2 Dexterity: 4 Mentality: 7 Special Abilities: Fly, Phoenix-Blooded, Fire Immunity, Malleable Form Moves: Spectral Bite, Foxfire, Mental Barrier Size Chart: 4 Biology: Sheer, regal, supreme.. and made from what looks like molten glass, these crossbreeds are quite the a physiological contradiction, being both filled with fire yet still cool to the touch, made from inorganic silica yet still quite brittle. But such frail natures should not be underestimated - While their spines might be far too fragile to be defensive more so than a display of colour, then the rest of them are astonishingly resilient. In fact, one could argue these halfbreeds are, in essence, unkillable.. Were one to sustain enough damage to reduce its form to rigid diamond dust, their hearts would still remain behind, as though eggs. These heart-eggs could give the strongest diamond drills a run for their money, and given enough days, the halfbreed's liquid glass form would gradually seep out of it to reform itself around the heart, to become 'reborn' (Though a certain amnesia would still follow, much like it's golem kin, so not quite every rebirth comes with exactly the same personality). Beyond that, their 'shell' form is actually quite versatile, able to sustain a number of hits so long as the creature is concious, warping and twisting away from any blows that might land. And while their strength might not be exactly impressive, their minds can certainly pack quite a (psychic) punch, as it were. Whether the creatures seek to use their minds for offence or defence largely depends on the trainer - Due to their amnesiac natures post-waking, it can leave them somewhat disoriented towards the world. A trainer might need to spend quite some time to reawaken the more obedient natures of their halfbreed as a result. On the up side, once the creatures begin to form a bond, it solidifies much faster than most, and it will presume to take a guarding stance of their trainer. One could even say these creatures are perhaps the greatest examples of complete devotion, willing to protect their well-bonded trainers to the point of sacrificing their own personality, should destruction befall either creature or trainer. What greater price could otherwise be paid?

And just as well, for any visitors to their watery dwelling would be a great source of interest and cause of investigation! Although they can survive on land, they generally prefer to remain there as little as possible. By and large their bodies are adapted more to the water, leaving them with small, short legs that make walking more complicated than it needs to be. Though their limbs are usable, they much prefer to investigate their surroundings using their multiple long tendrils instead, being quite touch curious. Once they've satisfied any initial bouts of curiosity, its not uncommon for them to resort to play afterwards, enticing any subject of their investigations to join in. While gentle, their natures do still have something of a mischievous streak, not being beyond squirting water at land-dwelling folk and chattering a laughter after, though nothing is ever done in a harmful way. Due to their sizes, they could even make quite ideal companions to small children, being both playful and the perfect swimming guards in one.
