Suggestion: New Character Species

So recently we've seen a streak of inspiring humanoids fill the crossbreed list. I know, we're all excited and surely this will be a new long-term trend.
With recent advances in sentience-freedom, we've been able to not only use pets as characters but actually train non-character pets many character skills. There are important discrepancies between character(CP) and non-character(NCP) sentients, however. NCP's can't be on their own most of the time and can't have their own pets, from what I understand. There also seem to be some skills that only CP's can learn. They still can't learn combat, since I believe it was assumed they wouldn't be humanoid...or would just be too small for player-combat.)
My Suggestion is to treat these new humanoids like a new species for characters. They can be called "New Mammalian" (or something much cooler...Chimera?) and come with an IC social controversy. There was already enough racism between human and non-human species. Now the labs are making new people...?
Essentially, they are people. They are sentient, able to speak, humanoid, and Fae to Uthax in size. I think it would be a really neat option to allow them to function, once secondary account purchased, pretty much exactly like regular characters - and by this, I specifically mean able to use player-combat. Combat, Marksman, and Magic. Nodes. Swords. Bows, etc. It makes sense, anatomically.
Technicalities:
It would be up to staff if player combat was available to all 'creatures' who fit this description, or if only the ones turned into characters have the option. Also, if the stats are a concern compared to other humanoids....well, I feel like they should be similar enough to regular character species. The pliathor ones, I believe, are larger and have the physical features that would provide it. They don't have legs, though. Would they count as humanoid? (Siren are a character species, after all, even if they were never accessible.)
Option A) ) If their 'creature stats' were too excessive, perhaps when they become characters they are given 'character stats', since the two do seem to be semi-detached in architecture. Their original stats could reflect their stats in the creature vs creature system, while their character stats would prevent them from having too much of an unfair advantage in the play vs player system. It would be up to staff if they keep these new stats when facing other creatures. Perhaps they have a certain savagery as a species-unique quality that allows them to reunite with their creature stats when facing another creature?
Option B) Or perhaps....there could be a limit of Power Levels 2-4 to become a New Mammalian. And if that limit was applied, I definitely think it would be important to add a new system where humanoids can use a potion to remove a single point of one stat. We can go to the gym to raise stats. Why not use potions to reduce them? The gym limit would still be a max of 2-ever points raised for any stat, however you could reduce any stat to 1.
IC, following the uproar of the New Mammalian, crossbreed humanoids who want to be an active, respected, and legal part of society have to officially register as a citizen. And due to the fear over these ferocious and powerful new humanoids, they are required to not surpass a certain power level. If they want to be 'wildlings' they can be - but if they want to get jobs, vote, open stores, rent property, and own a kennel, etc, they have to be more....er, less animal. Thus they create new potions for the humanoids to dampen certain qualities so they can be closer in power to the rest of society.
My main hope and suggestion, that I think almost everyone will also desire, is for sentient humanoid creatures to be allowed to use combat and magic. It makes sense, and I'm willing to brainstorm a way to make it work. <3
