Vixen was soon positioned just behind the curvature of Terra's head, and there she paused, treading water, cautiously watching the shadowed shape in front of her. She reached up towards the two miniature trees sitting on the base of Terra's skull, placing one hand on her "shoulder" for leverage and pressing some of her weight down into it. Tentative, Vixen's slim, tan fingers wrapped around one of the narrow trunks. The hide felt like an odd, somewhat smoother wood, somewhat akin to driftwood, and seemed to have that same warmth driftwood held after sitting in the hot sands of a beach. Just then, the tree swayed slightly, pressing against Vixen's palm with subtle resistance. "OH, shit!" she gasped, pulling her hand back a fraction before letting out a bark of surprised laughter. "Ok. Ok. So you are in there. Hi." She was a bit breathy in her shock, but grinning, rubbing firmly along the trunk and base of Terra's skull still. Despite the tree's shifting, Terra's body itself did not drift, in part due to the rooting down below, Vixen suspected.

Vixen ran her hand to and fro across Terra's skull foliage, trailing her fingers along the branches, rubbing firmly along the trunks (she had a suspicion that Terra didn't feel light touches very well; her hide was awfully thick, so she didn't fault her much for it) and being gentle with the the few leaves she could reach. How entwined was Terra's sensory with her tree extensions? Could her leaves feel? How much would something like a leaf being tugged off hurt her? Of course, Vixen wouldn't dream of doing so just for the sake of it, but she was very curious. The best way to learn about her creatures was always to work with them, so in time, she supposed all things would be revealed. Vixen's administered rubs weren't given any further reaction beyond very minute trunk sways, rustling the leaves above Vixen's reach, but it didn't seem unpleasant. She brought her hand down, smoothing her palm further up, at the flat of Terra's skull, between where the eyes would be on another creature.

Speaking of eyes... Where were they? Surely Terra had some. Vixen had not had a chance to closely exam her physically, and while she felt the Labs got a kick out of letting people "discover" a lot of surprise traits in their creatures, she'd always been given a heads up if she received something blind or with some other endangering impairment. Why, she was never sure- perhaps to keep people from loosing it with their other beasts when it couldn't defend itself. Or, more likely (as Vixen suspected the mad scientists cared little for what they produced once it left them- how else would one explain mass extinctions?) they didn't want to deal with furious owners. In any case, warning she had not received, so there were eyes on this thing somewhere, yet clearly not where she expected, not even tiny, discrete eyes like she'd suspected. So then the other options was.... on the underside?

Vixen reflexively took a breath and submerged herself under the lake's surface again, keeping one hand pressed lightly against the halfbreed's underside in order to stay below the surface with minimal effort. She was positioned closely against Terra's underside, now further back behind the conjuncture point of her neck and torso, and slowly was walking herself forward, back towards Terra's face. Here's her neck... and her head... and...
Because she was somewhat clinging to Terra, when the beasts's double pair of large, silvery eyes opened and rolled back, the dinner plate-sized orbs were right next to her face. Vixen instinctively sucked in a breath, only to flood her lungs with water and inspire another temporary bout of panic. DAMN it that will never feel right. Coughing out bubbles as her last lungful of air left, she shook herself and returned her focus back to the beast looming above her. Terra's eyes were wide, silver in hue, and seemingly pupiless. They were... pretty, she supposed, in an eerie sort of way.

((I am an imperfect person, in an imperfect world, and this is an imperfect transition. YEET.))
It was a perfectly gorgeous, hot day for training on the water. Vixen plodded happily down the dock, pulling a large rolling cooler full of ice and fish behind her. Yes, today was the day she had long awaited, ever since she had first acquired a nearly perfectly round ball of slick blubber and sweet blue eyes. At long last, her patient efforts in raising the Lasiobel had come to fruition, and she was free to train a new, reliable aquatic steed for the Keep and herself. She had gotten a headstart on her combat training, teaching her a few basic but effective moves in her juvenile years, and now Nessie was ready for more complex tasks- but first, she would be mount trained. Vixen was too terribly excited for it to put it off any longer; hell, she had had a custom Lasiobel bridle made years ago, long before Nessie was close to fitting it. All of her plans were coming together for her beloved little- er, big- beast. Ashe had his Pliathor, and sure, she loved them too- but Lasiobel made her heart sing.
Reaching the end of her customary dock, Vixen carefully set the ice chest aside and toed off her shoes, leaving her barefoot on the warm wood of the pier. Cautious, she glanced around to assure the coast was clear before glancing down at her Collar of Bonding, rotating it slightly on her wrist. Long ago she had realized that once one began to work with the truly monstrous creatures, the collars were truly the only efficient way of transporting them. True, she could have stayed at the Keeps to train, but she quite literally lived there, and besides, she wanted a training session purely focused on Nessie, without pausing to explain her methods to Rhett. Clearing her throat, she announce loudly, "Ollphéist." In a flash of blue light, Nessie appeared in the water just a yard away from the dock, causing a respectable splash and ripple from her presence. The Lasiobel glanced around in brief confusion before settling on Vixen, a deep chord reverberating from her as she swung her head over the dock, slick nose pausing a couple of feet above Vixen's head, the long tendril of her chin nearly reaching Vixen's feet. "Hello love," Vixen crooned, reaching up to rub her purple-tinted nose.
