Fiera hadn't had much time to train recently, but that didn't mean she couldn't put out something nice for the strength contest! Algol admittedly wasn't her fanciest pet, being a relatively plain brown sarane drake, but he definitely had some fancy tricks to show off to the audience... or at least to scare them with. She slipped her wet umbrella into a bag as she entered the contest hall, trying not to drip it onto the slick tile floor. "Hello!" She said cheerily, with the process of signing up by now being a well oiled process for her. "I'm here to sign up my sarane Algol for the strength contest." She said, accepting the paperwork and quickly jotting down the necessary information with a sense of well practiced ease. He wouldn't be the prettiest creature here, but you didn't need to be pretty for a contest of this nature, right?

Emery observed the chattering crowd in the contest hall with something approaching interest. This wasn't normally her sort of... thing. She wasn't interested in the pomp and circumstance of contests, of the flash and fanfare. And yet if the size of the crowd million about was any indicator, she was clearly in the minority about this. Frankly, she was a little embarrassed with her entry. Moxie was certainly poorly trained in comparison to some of the other creatures around here, with even the most ferocious beasts sitting politely while their owners signed them in. And yet, her goal here was not to win- instead, she could hopefully get a few points and a bit of experience for doing this, giving her a point of reference for how this sort of thing worked so she could be better prepared in the future. With that in mind, she took her paperwork and politely sat down to fill it out.

If Noa was being honest, he didn't really want to be here. He knew more than a few acquaintances who seemed to believe that he carried on doing as he pleased whenever he wanted. He rather wished that was the case. If he only did as he pleased, then right now he would be curled up on a cot at home and riding out the waves of pain that washed over him, as steady as his own thrice-damned pulse. It was one of those days, and of late he had been having rather more of them than not -- an unwelcome reminder that time was running out. Even more unfortunately, he couldn't even devote all his time to working on the problem directly. No, he had to show up at events like this as part of roundabout ventures for more funding. Gods take the concept of money. Rhys sent another dose of healing energy, and the pain dulled somewhat, though not so much so that he could ignore it entirely. He straightened a little, and ignoring the concerned gaze from his Pliathor, he approached the table for sign-ups and grabbed a form. His handwriting, once he had filled it out, was even worse than normal, but he couldn't be bothered to make it any neater than it was today.

There was a show of strength on at the local contest hall, and I could not think of a creature in all of the city stronger than a Golossle. Velvet didn't know many tricks, but I was sure that between us we could put on an entertaining show nonetheless. Besides, if the point of the show was to be the strongest, then I doubted anyone could stand up to her. Perhaps if someone else had a bigger Golossle, they might stand a chance, but we were sure to win some style points with Velvet's beautiful coloration and clever disposition. It was going to be no contest at all, really. All we had to do was show up, and we would no doubt score highly if not win the whole thing by default. "I am here to register my Golossle, Velvet, for the strength show," I said clearly to the staff taking applications. I did not want anyone thinking that I would be the subject of the show, though I could see how they would get that idea. [15.65, 2.6]

Lately, Silver had developed quite a bit of interest in participating in contests. It made them happy to come up with a routine, teach a creature how to perform, and finally get to share that experience with the audience and judges. Even though sometimes it made them nervous for so many people to be looking at them, they knew that if they just focused on their creatures, they would be okay. The more they practiced, the better they got at it.
The strength show gave them a bit of trouble, however. By the time they had thought up something, it was almost too late to practice the routine. If anyone could handle them doing something crazy at the last minute, however, it was Gen. They were absolutely confident that he would do a good job, no matter what they managed to actually do once they got to the show ring.
"Ah, hello, ah," Silver said, slightly more flustered than usual. "I'd like to register my, my ah, Vulticus... his name is Gen."
