Here they were again, a particularly haggard Renathan looking like he certainly needed yet another cup of coffee, even though he'd had one already. The stallion was surprisingly bright-eyed and bushy-tailed today, staring into the window as per the usual whenever they came here. Renathan leaned on the front counter after pulling out a form to be filled out, and immediately began filling it out, as he was used to. He was considering working on the stallion's stamina today instead of his physical pain resistance, since that would be more of the issue when it came to elemental attacks, or that was what Renathan had deduced from what he had heard. The idea was a bit difficult to really wrap the mind around, after all. After he finished the form, Renathan slid the paper over, and stood up as straight as an exhausted early-riser could be, and Renathan stretched out, his arms folded behind his head. "Welp, time for us to get to work today, I guess." Get to work indeed.
Well, it seemed that they were back here, and were quite tired. Renathan seemed absolutely miserable this time; was he getting burnt out? The stallion didn't seem to be burnt out so much as just tired and sweaty. Renathan moved to the front counter in an obviously pained way, tiredly, and then leaned on the counter while filling out the form. "I wish I had half of the energy that my equillion does; he can run circles around me when it comes to this whole training thing." He said, as amicably as a tired mammalian could speak of course. After filling out the form, he stood up straight and stretched out, his arms way above his head. He wondered if he would be coming here again to finish this up soon, or trying to put it off. He still had training to do, after all, and he was just plain exhausted. The stallion, however, didn't seem to be much bothered at all, true to form.

Renathan was back a few days later, not quite as tired as he had been it seemed. He still looked a bit anxious and sore of course, but he seemed to have the knowledge in him that this was the last leg of their training. He had already worked on the extra training the stallion needed for the tournament that absolutely had to be done, and he was planning on getting the creature's last bit of body condition training done. They absolutely had to do this, because the equillion didn't really have the best chance of winning here, honestly. However, with this training, he might just have a chance. Renathan sure hoped so, anyway. They didn't have a lot of leeway here, since Renathan was sure that they would be going up against huge and powerful creatures like wiurn and sarane. He wanted Shy Guy to have a chance! Renathan quickly filled out the form, silently this time, and then began walking out toward the training field. The stallion was standing outside, waiting patiently in place.
The satyr sets foot into the gym somewhat cautiously; it had been so long since she's been here! With a quick look around the woman confirms to herself that it looks indeed the same as last time she'd been here years ago. Luckily she was still able to find her membership card buried away in a drawer, else she would have had to face the embarrassment of having to ask someone to fill out another big form for her. Ugh. Lethalia flashes a grin at the tigress behind the counter; gods she wishes she could chat that one up, but the look on the mamillian's face bodes that she ought not try it. She probably gets bothered all the time working in a place like this anyway, and she doesn't want to be the most recent loser hitting on the gym owner. Trainer? Whatever, it was a bad idea either way. She'd left Vidarr outside to spare herself any misgivings from him this time.
"Hey there! I was bringin' my drake back in for some training," she states as she wanders up to the desk. More formal situations like this, filling out forms and going into a foyer to be received... it puts her a little on edge, not being the normal sort of place she finds herself in. "For... increasing his agility, more than we already have anyway." Her eyes shift to the gift shop, realizing that training Vidarr long ago had garnered her some kind of points to use in there. "Anythin' I can use in that gift shop for that?"

Renathan came in, looking more defiant than tired but definitely tired. He had worked hard, and he felt like they had done enough today even though he was just purely exhausted. He didn't really want to have to come back to the training gym for a long time, anyway, to let his body heal up. He was just exhausted, his arms and legs hurt, and he felt like he was healing quite a bit slower both physically and mentally than the equillion was, and he was doing all of the work! However, Renathan is confident, finally, as he leans on the counter for what was hopefully the last time for a while, and filled out the form. "I think we finally broke through, today." He said, quietly, not quite looking at the gym master. He had been nervous of her this entire time, after all, and really didn't want to make her mad today, at the very least. "I think he might finally be ready." He murmured, as he handed over the completed form and then sighed a big breath of relief.
They don't look too worse for wear just yet, but Lethalia figures they're going to try and run themselves ragged soon enough. What was being more fun than being prepared for something? Preparing for it last minute!
Well, it was better than not doing it at all, right?
Convinced her logic is quite sound, the woman is still all smiles as she approaches the desk; Vidarr, less so. But nobody really expects him to be excited to be here. "Good morning!" she chimes, membership in hand as she approaches the help desk. Card offered out, she continues, "That cart locked up outside - is that for use?" She intended to work on Vidarr's staying power, so to speak, and such resistance would be a lovely aid in that endeavor. There's a few other ideas she's got, but whatever she can do to gain a bit of an edge since most of this still feels quite foreign to her. Oh, she's got some things in store for him, and that cart would fit in quite well. He'd just hate it, it was wonderful! "Suppose I have enough -uh- 'points' t' unlock it?"

Fanged: Hooray! Thanks Nadia for stepping up to the plate. <3

Darky: I may have looked into things before.. x3

Riku: I love it when you walk into a room like "Oh, ye, hear thine wisdom." <3 It never ceases to amaze me.

Darky: From what I've looked at things over the years, both sides are actually correct: the elements do need some fleshing out, but they are also very much their own types of style/flavour/effect as well. Still, one doesn't have to compromise the other x3

Riku: I think Morgan's attempt was less of a "do this now plz?" and more of a "Can we simply acknowledge that this is where we eventually want to go?" -shrug- // Congrats to the agility winners! <3

Riku: For instance, elements can be perceived different than usual. Like Shadow not being evil, or acid being direct and immediate harsh damage rather than a DOT. Things can also get interesting when you mix elements. So imagine a DOT cold move, etc.
Jul 2, 2020 21:33:19 GMT -6
Riku: I also came to the conclusion about every element having the different techs, but like mentioned it would be a massive overhaul so I just didn't mention it. lol I do feel like elements should be more flavor than technique, therefore all having all techs.
Jul 2, 2020 21:30:49 GMT -6
Morgan: I wish I could thumbs-up a cboxpost. /laugh/ If the nerf goes through, they could be made NRS and nerfed down to the other similar moves. But this was just the heart of my first suggestion here, I was hoping to make more as time goes on.
Jul 2, 2020 20:01:13 GMT -6
Haix: We have moves like deluge/harsh gust that cost 7/8 tp, deal 10 fit damage, but lack the NRS modifier that would make them as powerful. Maybe they could be altered slightly to be on a similar level as they have the same cost?
Jul 2, 2020 19:59:20 GMT -6
Morgan: You're right, they're not suited for the only fighting we've ever had on site up to this point.
Jul 2, 2020 19:59:14 GMT -6
Morgan: I agree, but we definitely Do Not Have Those at the moment.
Jul 2, 2020 19:58:55 GMT -6
Aster: Mmm, I dunno if they're not 'good' so much as not really suited for the only type of fighting we have access to, which is one on one. I think the metagame would be pretty different with like, the boss battle type fights Skylark had been workshopping before
Jul 2, 2020 19:58:07 GMT -6
Morgan: I know that curses/poisons are a thing, but there's a reason no one uses those. They aren't technically... Good. (Not with fltnrs10 around. While someone is trying to drain the person's stuff, which doesn't work with hardy anyway, the fltnrs10 kills.)
Jul 2, 2020 19:54:14 GMT -6
Morgan: And if it isn't overpowered for one element to have the tech, then it shouldn't be for others (obvious exception is physical) because the same rules go for all resistances/immunities save for physical. Nothing was meant to be resistant to every element.
Jul 2, 2020 19:51:51 GMT -6
Morgan: Doing it in pieces would be best, because other than spirit's little blurbs (which we've changed other things before for the good of the site) the elements aren't really set in stone with tech choices. Moves were added fairly often before.
Jul 2, 2020 19:49:01 GMT -6
Morgan: I know, but I've been suggesting it for... Quite some time.
Jul 2, 2020 19:47:55 GMT -6
Aster: That would be a pretty big rehaul of the current movepool P:
Jul 2, 2020 19:47:35 GMT -6
Morgan: I personally don't think that the elements matter, IE: I think every element should have all tech choices.
Jul 2, 2020 19:47:00 GMT -6
Aster: And 7 STA is still a pretty significant threshold. Definitely not as much as 10, but
Jul 2, 2020 19:45:13 GMT -6
Aster: Ehhh I still feel like NRS big-damage moves should stay in a few elements. Otherwise it'd kind of be taking away from Fire/Ice/Elec without giving anything to them that other elements have (ie a persistent DOT, or more crowd control for Fire/Ice)
