Name: Rhett Fateaux
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 29
Native Language: Common
Job: Sentry at the Aquatics Keep
Physical Description: See here for a visual of Rhett's face. Rhett is roughly 5'10" and a broad, muscled 175lbs. His hands are rough and ripped, and his body sports random, faded scars in odd places- most often scattered on his lower legs or arms. On his left arm is a shoulder-to-elbow ouroboros tattoo. His hands are big, calloused, and overall rather rough looking- usually dirty nails, scarred knuckles and palms, etc. Occasionally he may wear glasses when reading.
Generally Rhett will wear jeans, boots, and either a t-shirt or loose button-up. He's not one to dress up- partially because he's colorblind and partially because he simply lacks the desire to. More often than not he'll have a pack of cigarettes in his back pocket and one behind his ear. He holds himself high, though not arrogantly, and has a "wide" stance to his walk- though his gait is generally an easy, relaxed one.
Mental and/or Social Description:
Intellectual: Rhett is street smart, but not book smart- he's lousy with common sense, but anything that goes beyond the realm of practicality is lost on him. He's not one to hold a conversation with you about philosophies, math theories, etc. Understand, he is by no means unintelligent... he simply has a limited selection of things he chooses to learn or have strong opinions on.
He's generally a bit close minded on some things- please don't flirt with him, for example, if you're a man. He doesn't hate gay people by any means, but he secretly is a bit uncomfortable around them and becomes an odd mixture of flustered and aggressive if advanced on. The less human someone is, the higher his discomfort rises. A pair of ears and a tail? Manageable. A dog on legs? Weary. Lacking a discernible face in general? He'll just walk the other way, thank you very much.
Confidence/Social Skills: Rhett isn't particularly self aware- he doesn't spend much time wondering if he is attractive, or if he as his normal self is not appropriate for a scenario- he may not, for example, really "get" what the problem is if he were to mosy into a store caked in mud and grime. He isn't really sure what others think of him, but he also doesn't stew over it often.
He has a- respectable? naive?- attitude that others are good-natured and respectful towards him from the get-go, as that is how he behaves towards others. Even if his "nightmare" of a social interaction were to show up (flamboyant, extremely non-human, chatty and bubbly and loud), Rhett would still attempt to politely disengage rather than be flat-out rude. He greets everyone with a handshake or a friendly nod of the head- however it would be wrong to assume him to be extremely extroverted. Rhett is comfortable alone or in company, but doesn't typically seek out strangers without reason.
Personality: As a rule, Rhett is fairly easy-going and reasonably friendly. He's not exactly "refined" in his social skills, and his curiosity tends to surface in what may be inappropriate ways (ex: if a character has an odd mark, rather than ignoring it he may ask if it's a birthmark or a tattoo; he may ask a furred person if they shed, etc). He doesn't mean to be rude by any means, but he has an issue with popping out questions or thoughts as they occur. This may have to do with the fact that, for better or worse, Rhett is a generally honest person. He rarely be tactful, but he will always answer you honestly- unless you're trying to get him to be emotional. He can be a bit emotionally dense, but if he is in a turmoil he would sooner wrestle it alone than open up about it.
Rhett acts on logic over emotion as a principle, but if he he stirred to anger by conflict, he's not above a bar fight. When it comes to romance, Rhett is neither a bed-hopper nor a monk. He isn't excessively flirty and tends to go for long-term relationships... usually. Having recently suffered a pretty brutal breakup (involving infidelity), that part of his life may be crashed and burned at this present point in time. Rhett has a pretty by-the-book code of morals and ethics, but prefers to butt out of others' business himself except in extreme circumstances (ex: don't hit your girlfriend or kick your dog in front of him).
Happiness and Motivations: While Rhett can be "broody" on occasion, he is generally a happy and relaxed person. He's not prone to stressing over things out of his control, or about things that aren't in immediate need of attention (after all, what's the point?). He's a pretty hard worker, unable to tolerate a job not done, and procrastination is regarded by him to be a sinful plague.
Goals: Start over in a new area, branch out of his small-town comfort level; move on from his decimated relationship; find a job and make himself useful
Color Blindness Breakdown: Type: Tritanomaly (blue-yellow colorblind)
Red --> Red, Orange --> Redder orange, Bright Yellow ---> Shades of orange, Light yellow --> Pale beige / eggshell, Green --> Green, but less shades available, Blue --> Silvers and grays, may have slightly purple tint, Purple --> Gray or gray with purple tint, unless a true and light purple, which turns into a lighter purple.
