[Breeding 1/10]
((OOC: I'm thinking this is set with a good deal of time IC since the Ounce x Specter breeding, as it's been a good year and a half since I've posted here.))
Apparently it was pachee season (not really, it was still the dead of winter), because he'd just been here the other day with Pixie. He didn't know Silver well, they'd only met one for an earlier pachee breeding, and the interactions had been a bit.. stilted. Silver seemed naturally awkward at new meeting, and being blindsided by a light elemental had Nerius, shall we say, not at his best socially. Honestly, he wasn't really looking forward to that part again, but at least the raw surprise wouldn't be present this time.
Given the lack of a presence of light magic in the breeding center, he'd arrived first. Nerius had made the conscious decision to pay attention to the time, and not be horribly late to his second social outing in.. a while. It had paid off, and now he just had to wait, Saffron at least wasn't as frigidity as some of his other pachee.

Silver was not the sort of person who was on time even at the best of times. For as much as they tried, they never could quite get the hang of it. They hated being impolite, but it seemed like they just couldn't shake the habit. They nearly forgot to grab their Pachee as they sprinted out of the garden and toward the breeding centre.
They had met this person once before, so they had some idea what he looked like. They paused for a second to give themselves a little mental pep talk before stepping inside. Thankfully, the breeding centre wasn't that crowded, and they were able to find their acquantance without much trouble.
"Ah, hey," they said, not nearly loud enough for the distance at which they said it. The greeting made the Paogon on their head perk up a bit. It looked like he was sizing Nerius up. As they stepped into normal volume range, they spoke again.
"I ah, I brought Soda," they explained, holding up the bright pink pachee.

[Breeding 3/10]
Nerius set Saffron's crate down, she may have been rather calm in there, but it was easier to start filling out the paperwork without holding the crate. He still didn't understand why pachee of all things had such stiff regulations, you weren't even allowed to breed them outside the facility. With sarane and houlou he could understand, with the former being dangerous, and the latter had tracked genetic lines. But pachee? It was odd. At least the forms were simple enough, and it was something to do while he waited.
He felt the light magic before he saw or heard Silver. The presence of a light elemental still triggered a reflexive sense of 'threat', but nowhere nearly as bad as last time. That he was expecting it helped, and he was able to respond to the greeting without any stressed fumbling.
"He's even brighter in person," it was intended as a compliment, the bright colors and speckled markings were the appeal. (Saffron: Lv: 1, 8/10 | Lyl: 6, 8/10) (Nerius: 2/20)

The little Pachee's bright green eyes blinked a few times. He was quite surprised to be dragged to this strange place and thrust in front of a stranger. His nose twitched. He could smell something nice! Another Pachee perhaps? He slowly waved his tail, a subtle sign of the underlying excitement.
"Ah, yea, you should have seen his dad," Silver said with a grin. Their shy demeanour was a little less obvious when they were talking about creatures rather than trying to maintain small talk.
"Oh, but do, ah, do be careful, he's a little, well... poisonous." They explained. They shifted his weight to their forearm and used their now free hand to point at his leaves.
"Just the leaves, though, so, just don't go rubbing them then touching your face or something, I guess." They seemed very casual about something that was probably pretty important.
"Oh, don't worry, though, he won't, ah, he won't hurt your gal, um, what's her name?"

[Breeding 5/10]
"Oh, interesting!" Nerius gave the pink pachee a closer look, and spotted the goo dripping from his leaves. The melty consistency and bright colors reminded him of a dessert. Forbidden snack pachee.
"I've never encountered a poisonous pachee, is he the result of a harvest mutation?" Nerius had experimented with feeding his pachee items harvested from other creatures, but he'd never tried anything poisonous. He was likewise less concerned than one maybe should be for a poisonous creature, though in his case it was more a scientific fascination. "At least they don't have to touch to breed," an odd way to do it, but it meant the leaves didn't have to get any where near the other 'chee.
"This is Saffron," Nerius introduced the pachee, named such not due to his love of food (okay maybe just a little), but because she greatly resembled the crocus flower that produced the spice. She was only somewhat visible in the crate, she could smell the (odd?) scent of another pachee, and had shuffled up to the door.

"Indeed," Silver said in response to both the 'interesting' comment and the question about the mutation.
"An acquaintance of mine," they paused briefly as they tried to remember the well dressed man's name. Nope, better to just skip it. "He brought along some of the extract milked from a Kiseiseibutsu, you know, ah, those weird little fungus clumps Alura sells?"
"Ah, anywyay, once distilled down, apparently it's safe enough for Pachee to touch, and that's how we ended up with Soda here."
Soda's big green eyes scanned the room as they were talking about him. He could smell the sweet smell of a lady, and he wanted to know where she was. Unfortunately for him, he'd have never thought to look down at the crate where she was, at least not without prompting.
"Hello Saffron," Silver said with a slight wave of their free hand. "I think she's eager to make a friend," they said with a soft smile. "Shall we get started?"
