Leafy laughed, feeling bad for her disappointment but finding her silliness rather funny. Pets could sometimes act very silly and Leafy found it hard to remember that they weren't always as smart as her. Of course, she did own some creatures that were rather intelligent. Tat-Lung were intelligent as were numerous halfbreeds she had. But she shouldn't really expect much in the way of intelligence from an Orbaru cross. Orbaru weren't exactly known for their intelligence after all.
"Wait, I think I found something!" she declared.
The area that she had knocked on sounded a bit different to the rest of the wall. It sounded almost metallic, as though there was a secret hatch hidden behind it. That very well could actually be the case.
"Lotus, I need you to join me." She motioned for the halfbreed to approach. Lotus was still chewing on the ball, but she was happy to follow Leafy's directions.

"I think the wall opens up here. I don't know where it will lead, but I am positive I can push this open," she decided.
Lotus watched in interested as the girl placed her palms flat on the wall. She angled them to the left area where she had heard the metallic sound. She then pushed it, frowning when it didn't open.
"Maybe the other side?"
She moved to the right side and resumed the position she had been in. She leaned forward, pushing her weight against the wall. This time, the wall indeed swung outwards, revealing a hidden compartment behind it.
"Well it's not a hallway, but it looks like a new room," she commented.
Lotus barked excitedly as the girl stepped into the room. Her barking was muffled thanks to the ball she still held in her mouth. She followed Leafy quickly, excited to see what other toys she could find.

Inside the room was a strange, miniature house. It seemed a bit too ominous to be a dollhouse, but she supposed some children might have eclectic tastes. She was a bit old for dollhouses, and she had never really understood the appeal. Beside the house were a couple more leaves. Her eyes lit up when they landed on the small form of a mushroom pocketpet.
"Score! There really are a ton of pocketpets in here. It's great that they're worth so many credits," she exclaimed.
Lotus pricked her ears forward. She tracked the movement of the pocketpet with her eyes and darted forward, chasing after it. Leafy was quick to intercept, cutting off the pocketpet's path before it could run too far. She scooped up its small form and placed it inside her backpack along with the other treasures.
"That was well worth it. One of these is worth a nice forty credits."

Once she had secured her belongings, Leafy took a look around the rest of the room. The walls were made of old metal, which was a change in scenery from the creaky wood the rest of the mansion appeared to be made of this month. Even the floor and ceiling were made of metal. Was this some sort of panic room? Leafy had heard that rich houses had those. She'd never been in one herself, but this is what she'd imagine it'd look like.
"Come on Lotus. This place is a bit strange. I don't think I want to get trapped in here," she commented.
Lotus's paws clicked across the metal flooring. Leafy frowned at the noise, suddenly feeling a bit too aware of her own footsteps. If something had been stalking them, the noise would give away their position. It was nearly impossible to be silent in a room like this.

There was a door located on the far wall. It appeared locked with some sort of electrical mechanism controlling the door. Leafy considered herself to be adequately good at working with electronics. She had a few robot pets that she had spent time with. She needed to study more robotics. She had an interest in it, but didn't indulge in it as much as she should. She had little time leftover to spend it tinkering with machines. She spent a lot of time caring for her pets and even then, she still felt as though she didn't do enough.
"I really need to train them more, but I get bored so easily. I wonder how I could change that?"
She had tried to be better at self reflection lately. She hadn't really done it before, but voicing her thoughts aloud was something she could do quite easily. Coming up with solutions was a bit harder.

When she reached the door, Lotus glared at it. She seemed mistrustful, as though something bad lurked behind the door. Leafy felt herself growing equally wary. She had learned to trust the instinct of her creatures. They were more in tune with these sorts of things. Leafy only had her senses and her intuition to rely on. She didn't have much of an instinct. At least not in the same way that animals did.
"We'll still need to open the door. We can't just stay in here forever," she reasoned.
Lotus pushed herself close to Leafy's legs. She flopped down onto the ground and began to gnaw at her ball anxiously. The girl felt bad about the situation, but the actually couldn't simply stay trapped in this room. She needed to open this door and face what lay behind it. It might not even be such a scary thing located behind the door.

She glanced at the lock, squinting as she tried to read the words printed across the surface.
"I don't think this is common," she decided.
Lotus continued to chew on her ball, glancing around warily every few minutes. The halfbreed was on edge, but there was not much she could do to calm her down. After all, they needed this door open, even if Lotus didn't want it to be. Leafy fiddled around with the various mechanisms on the door. She felt like she was guessing at random, but the lock was more intuitive than she expected it to have been.
"I think I figured it out!" she exclaimed. Leafy clicked one of the mechanisms in place and beamed when the display panel on the lock lit up.
It wasn't locked with a password. There was only a solitary word on the screen: enter. She tapped the screen, understanding immediately that the screen doubled as a touch pad.

A couple of strange things occurred; a wax leaf fell out of nowhere, and landed on the 'face' of a strange otherwise wispy doodad.

June She and Long had gotten rather close in the time they had known each other. Leafy felt like she was ready to take him on a proper adventure. Long followed along obediently as she approached the front steps to the mansion. She hadn’t been here for a bit and she was certainly excited to get some exploring done. “Stick close to me and prepare for the worst.” She warned Long. The warning might have been a bit dramatic, but she wanted him to be alert. You could never be sure what sort of monsters might be lurking around. “Ready or not, here we come!” She declared to the outside world. She thrust the door open with more enthusiasm than was necessary. Long was the first to enter. Leafy allowed him to have that role on their first adventure. She needed him to grow confident enough to handle things on his own as well. (Long 5 1/5, 13 1/5) 1

The first room threw them right into the thick of things. The moment they entered, a flash of colour exploded before their eyes. A firework? Leafy had some experience with them, having been in the mansion during this month before. She was somewhat familiar with the theme. Long was not as experienced. He arched his back and let out a low growl at the sudden explosion. After it was evident that no danger was to follow, he allowed himself to relax somewhat.
“I guess it’s going to be one of those months. It’s trying to keep us on our toes.” Leafy remarked.
Long was a little on edge still, but he seemed capable of continuing. The explosions would prepare him for further danger. She took the time now to get a good look at the room they had ended up in. The room was darker than expected, lit only by the fireworks.

Long stuck close to her as Leafy crossed the length of the room. The room itself was rather spacious. The ceiling wasn’t visible, if it even existed at all. She wasn’t quite sure how the mansion worked, but it was possible that it didn’t exist in this space but did somewhere outside of this room.
“I wonder if we could climb up there?” She mused aloud. She was an efficient climber, but she didn’t think there was anything that she could keep her grip on. Trying to climb the walls would only get her so far.
Long glanced around the room as well, his eyes narrowed as though he were tracking prey. He had wings and was capable of flight, but Leafy knew he wouldn’t be able to do such a thing on command. She hadn’t taught him that yet. Besides, he likely wouldn’t be able to hold her weight.

Climbing or flying both didn’t seem reasonable. If Leafy wanted to get up there, she was going to have to do some additional work first. Stacking furniture sounded reasonable. She’d need to judge if she’d be able to create a structure to climb on from the objects in the room.
Long split up from her momentarily while they both walked the perimeter of the room. From what Leafy could gather, there were a bunch of lawn chairs that she could likely pile on top of each other.
“With a little work, I think this should be possible.” She said. Long joined her once more. His lack of opposable thumbs ensured that he wouldn’t be helping her in this endeavor. His moral support would be noted. She got to work, grabbing all the lawn chairs and piling them next to one of the walls. She didn’t think the structure would be very stable on its own though.

“I wonder what we could use to make a stable base?” She couldn’t see anything obvious right off of the bat. She’d need to get a little more creative.
There was a table that seemed sturdy enough. It seemed a little small to make a base layer with, but maybe it would work if it was higher up on her proposed climbing structure. Long brushed against the table as though agreeing with her decision. Even if Leafy didn’t end up using it, she figured it would be best to move the table closer.
“Alright now we’ll need something larger to stack the table on.” Ideally, she presumed that she’d be able to find another table, but it was difficult to navigate this room when it wasn’t lit up with fireworks. Most of the small explosions had subsided for now. It was certainly calmer even if it wasn’t helping her search the room.
