The stallion rolls over flawlessly and quicker than they previously had, onto his side and then back and then back up. The Renathan decides to get tricky on him. He moves his hand on the other side, and then calls out "Do a barrel roll!" He stallion rolls over yet again, in the same direction. Renathan quickly runs over to the other side of the rolling stallion, and watches him roll away; in the opposite direction. After the roll is completed; Renathan quickly gives him a whole half of a pink apple, and then he leaned forward and patted the stallion on his muzzle. Renathan was happy to see exactly how well this training went today. "Do a barrel roll!" He calls out, after the stallion finishes his little piece of pink apple. The stallion rolls over again, and Renathan gives him the entire other apple. Then he decides they are done that day; he manages to get the stallion over into the other corral before a single drop of rain falls.

Renathan only had a few more tricks to teach the stallion before they started working on the battling-style training, and honestly he was both anxious about it and excited for it all at once. Training for battles was quite circumstantial at best, and he'd just trained his stallion to stop being aggressive! Training it back into some aggression may actually be a terrible idea in the long run. Thankfully, they still had one more thing that Renathan wanted to teach before they started. Renathan makes his way to the corral and looks down across the field. He'd recently put in some interesting rocks, hoping that the stallion would begin investigating them and climbing them as he had done before. Thankfully Renathan is happy to see that he is climbing around on the rock in the closest to the center of the field. Renathan sneaks out into the field, so that the stallion wouldn't see him and possibly get off of the rock.

Renathan manages to sneak out to the rock without alarming the stallion, which was good. The stallion was clambering around on the rock with gusto; Renathan knew that this stallion was really bad about climbing around on the roof of the house, even! This would be a useful training bit to have, but he'd had to time it just right to get the opportunity to train it. Renathan quickly hollars out; "Get down!" and watches as the stallion looks surprised to see him there and perhaps even at the noise, and then gets excited to see him in perhaps two seconds. Then the stallion leaps down from the rock with a surprising amount of agility; Renathan moves out of the way and then gives the stallion a quick piece of pink apple. That was good; certainly. Renathan knew he only got down due to him having been there and calling out to him, however.

Renathan waits for a moment, watching the stallion eat his piece of pink apple, and then he leaves the general area pretty swiftly, hopping the fence. He decided that he was going to take a walk for a little bit, and then come back to hopefully find the stallion once again standing on another rock. Today was going to be a long day; he could just feel it. He really just wanted to get this mundane and boring training over with though, so that he could get to the 'good stuff'. What really made him sad was that he was going to have to put off the stallion's mount training. He figures that technically he could teach him to ride bareback; but that would be a ton of extra work to do whenever he did finally get the tack! Renathan slowly begins to make his way back to the fence, where he stays down wind of the stallion.

The stallion, just as Renathan had hoped, had began climbing on the rock again. That was once again a great opportunity to begin to train him! Renathan sneaks his way out to the fence and then hops it carefully, he wanted to avoid the stallion's detection so that the training would be more effective. After a little while of sneaking, Renathan had made his way across the field to see the stallion on the center rock yet again, climbing around with a curious expression. Renathan had no idea exactly why this stallion was so darn strange! He moved oddly, had odd tainted-like body type changes, and acted very little like a pure in general. Renathan belts out again, as loudly as he can; "Get Down!" At the stallion, and the creature once again flicks one ear back, surprised to see Renathan, and then looks quite excited. The stallion always seemed excited to see Renathan anymore.

The stallion once again climbs down off of the rock, eager to see Renathan. He hits the ground and then begins snuffling at Renathan's shoulder, in a joyous greeting no doubt! Renathan pets the stallion to show how pleased he was with the general obedience, and then he gives the stallion a small piece of the crisp pink apple as a treat for performing properly in the behavior expected of him. Renathan then stands there, curiously, in an attempt to figure out how long it would take the stallion to grow bored of him if he wasn't doing anything, and begin climbing on the rock again. The stallion stood there, looking at an unresponsive Renathan for a good long time, and then finally seems to get bored. He places a foot on the rock; and Renathan calls out, "Get Down!" The stallion seems super concerned with the noise! He takes his foot off of the rock to check Renathan.

Renathan is continually surprised by how quickly this stallion equillion appears to pick up behaviors; perhaps it was ingrained, or perhaps it was simply just his personality. Renathan had more of a mind to believe that it was due to the stallion's status as a personal custom of his; it probably began with a desire to like him at least somewhat; despite the generalized outlaw-type personality. Renathan pats the stallion on the nose to reassure it, and then gives it a piece of the crisp pink apple yet again has a treat for it's excellent behavior. The stallion stands there and chews it's treated pink apple piece, and watches Renathan with those bright and huge pale blue eyes. Almost like twin moons, they were. Renathan can once again almost 'see' the cogs whirling in the stallion's head as he presumably tried to figure out what Renathan wanted from him, as per the usual.

The stallion stands there, looking at Renathan with those big bright blue moonlike eyes again, as if he is merely trying to figure something out that appears like a puzzle to him, and then after a while again begins to grow bored with the unresponsive Renathan. The stallion quickly makes his way over to another rock in a different portion of the corral, and Renathan waits until his climbs on it before very slowly making his way towards the creature. The stallion watches him out of the corner of his eyes every once in a while but mostly seems quite bored with him. That was excellent; that is exactly what Renathan wanted out of today. The stallion stands atop one of the smaller rocks, nuzzling at a dish in the rock. Renathan calls out the command quickly but efficiently; "Get Down!" The stallion seems vexed for a moment, but gets off to go check on Renathan anyway.

The stallion leans forward and nuzzles Renathan's shoulder, pushing his nose into Renathan's hand whenever he raises it to the stallion's face gently. Their working relationship here had indeed gotten so much better since the start that it made Renathan nervous to begin their battle training. He did not want to loose this progress, but he knew that for their purposes, which Renathan hoped would eventually be cavalry-style work, that the stallion would have to know how to fight, of course. Renathan gives the stallion a treat of the small pink apple pieces, and then he gently pats the flank of the beast before him. Today was an easy day so far. The stallion finishes his apple and looks to Renathan for more, who of course does not give him any more, since he didn't want to spoil the process they had been using that had worked so well for the longest time. He didn't want the stallion to start associating treats with pestering him.

Renathan waits for the stallion to get bored with him again, which does not take an exorbitant amount of time as he was expecting. He really wanted to get the training over with, so that they could move on to bigger and better things in the future, even if those things were some rather daunting tasks for him. Better to get started on them than worry; right? The stallion begins to climb on the rock again. Renathan watches him with mild interest in his bright pink eyes behind the mask that he always wore. The stallion takes one foot and places it on the rock, and then the next back leg... "Get Down!" Renathan calls out, and the Stallion instantly backs up, looking at him. Renathan gives him another piece of apple, and then decides to go on another walk. He'd test this behavior out again in a little while, hopefully when the stallion had forgotten about his presence again.

Renathan goes on a long walk around the corral away from the stallion, so that the stallion would lose all interest in him so that the last bit of this training would work well. Renathan walks around in the cool springtime morning, his paws on the wet dewy grass blades. The wind was just amazing and enjoyable; he was really dreading the dead heat of summer. Renathan stood there, staring out across the fence after a while, looking at the stallion while he played... And then he began getting closer. The stallion was on something strange... Was that the fence!? Renathan makes his way there and hollars at the pure equillion stallion; "Get Down!" The stallion looks nervous, and clambers down off of the fence that he had been climbing around on rather delicately, much like a cat. Renathan shakes his head, but gives him the entire apple anyway, before leading him over to the other corral. At least the stallion was performing the skill correctly!

Renathan decides later on in the week to start out with some of the quicker things to train; if only so that the stallion gets an idea of what to do first. He chose the attacking style that made the most sense for the creature as well; a simple 'strike of the horn' that should cause him to be able to impart some stabbing damage with his horn, if at all possible. He'd chosen this to start out with due to the creature enjoying to test things with his horn; as in, he loved to run into things with his horn on a semi-regular basis. Renathan hoped that they would be able to get this out of the way; so that they could do other attacks as soon as possible. Renathan drags the huge sarane dummy to the field with much difficulty; it had been a while since he had used it. The stallion meets him at the gate, as per usual.

A horn-striking move was one of the first few moves that Renathan had seen in the pit; and that allowed him to know that depending on the user, it was a more mild attack than what most sarane could dish out, even though it was still a rough bit of damage to take. The wound was typically puncture-style, which made for a more narrow wound, but certainly deeper. Infections could set it from such wounds quite easily if left un-treated. Renathan manages to get the dummy into the fence, and then spray a bit of 'Stallion Musk' on it that he'd collected from one of his male crossbreeds; basically making it smell like an opponent equillion to his male. Already the stallion was looking angry, swiveling both of his ears back and snorting out through his nose. It was a strange noise; a sharp noise. Renathan wasn't sure what to think about the sharp noise; but it was giving him an idea for later.

Renathan is waiting for a specific thing to happen before he does this; but he has to know his stallion's movements very well for this to work. He waits until the Stallion paws the ground and begins to lower his head... There! Just as the stallion equillion begins to rush towards the perceived 'stallion' opponent, Renathan calls out the command; "Go Get Em'!" The equillion rushes forward, but definitely hears his command, since their bond is quite strong. The stallion runs faster than Renathan can even imagine from him, and then sticks his horn, as predicted, into the dummy as far as he can; which is not much at the current moment. He shakes his head violently, and then removes the horn by backing up. He runs back behind Renathan, as his thrashing with the dummy had caused one of the canvas wings to hit his side; making him think he was being attacked!

The stallion stopped on the other side of Renathan and begins to catch his breath. He once again croons out a bell noise, and then a sharp screech that was obviously a little like the bell noise. Once again, Renathan was intrigued by this noise. The stallion paws at the ground again, and lowers his head. This time; he was going to get that other stallion good! Renathan watches as the equillion stallion starts to move again, and he once again reiterates; "Go get em!" The stallion rushes forward, once again hearing the command; though he doesn't know what it means yet of course. This time; he was very angry. He snorts the entire way; and then rams his horn into the dummy with relish, removing it just as the wing taps his side again. He snorts, and rushes back around towards Renathan and safety again, utterly aggressed at the 'opposing stallion'. It probably helped that his herd was not too far away in the other corral.
